Hader gave up one run on two hits with five strikeouts across two innings during a blown save against the Pirates on Saturday.

The Brewers-Pirates slugfest gave both Hader and Pittsburgh closer Felipe Vazquez their first blown saves of the season. The Brewers called upon Hader in the eighth with two runners on base, no outs and a one-run lead. Hader struck out the first batter but then allowed a home run to give up the lead. After the Brewers tied the game again in the top of the ninth, Hader pitched a scoreless bottom of the inning. The 25-year-old is now 13-for-14 in save chances with a 2.45 ERA, 0.72 WHIP and 57 strikeouts in 29.1 innings this season.

Neris (1-2) allowed one run in one-third of an inning and took the loss in against the Dodgers on Saturday.

Neris entered with the game in a non-save situation but gave up a walkoff solo shot to Dodgers catcher Will Smith. Neris has a 2.25 ERA and 0.92 WHIP with 10 saves in 24 innings this season. Despite the speed bump Saturday, Neris should be considered the Phillies' primary choice for ninth-inning duties.

Rodney signed a minor-league contract with the Nationals on Saturday and will report to Triple-A Fresno, Jesse Dougherty of The Washington Post reports.

Rodney was officially released by the Athletics on Tuesday and didn't have to wait long before latching on with a new organization. The 42-year-old struggled through 17 appearances with Oakland this season, posting a 9.42 ERA, 2.23 WHIP and 14:12 K:BB over 14.1 innings.

Jackson earned the save Saturday against the Tigers by allowing one hit over 1.2 innings and recording all five outs via strikeout.

Jackson last appeared in a game Sunday at St. Louis but showed no signs of rust as he needed only 22 pitches. The 27-year-old has 10 strikeouts and zero walks across his last three appearances, covering 4.2 innings. Jackson has a 2.83 ERA and 1.19 WHIP overall and is 8-for-12 in save opportunities.

Maton was optioned to Triple-A El Paso on Saturday.

Maton has been disappointing all season, recording a 5.82 ERA in 17 innings of work. He'll make way on the roster for Nick Margevicius, who was called up ahead of his scheduled start against the Marlins.

Strop (hamstring) will make another rehab appearance Sunday for Triple-A Iowa, Mark Gonzales of the Chicago Tribune reports.

Strop was originally expected to make just two rehab appearances but apparently requires a third outing despite pitching quite well in his first two. Regardless, he appears to be close to returning to Chicago and could do so sometime next week.

Pomeranz's next turn in the rotation will be skipped, Maria I. Guardado of MLB.com reports.

The Giants will take advantage of an off day to bump up the rest of their pitchers, with Shaun Anderson pitching Thursday against the Mets. Pomeranz looked good early in the year, recording a 3.65 ERA through his first five starts, but he's slumped to an awful 15.70 ERA over his last five outings.

Yates struck out one in a perfect ninth inning Friday to record his 22nd save of the season in a 5-2 win over the Marlins.

The league leader in saves is now four ahead of Detroit's Shane Greene, and Yates has yet to blow a save opportunity this season. The 32-year-old has cemented his spot among the closing elite with a 1.04 ERA, 0.92 WHIP and 45:8 K:BB over only 26 innings.

Gsellman walked one in a scoreless ninth inning Friday to record his first save of the season in a 5-4 win over the Diamondbacks.

With both Edwin Diaz and Jeurys Familia having seen heavy recent usage, Mets manager Mickey Callaway turned to Seth Lugo in the eighth inning and Gsellman in the ninth to protect a one-run lead, and the duo got the job done. The latter had been in a funk, allowing six runs over his last 4.2 innings, but Gsellman now sports a 3.63 ERA, 1.33 WHIP and 33:12 K:BB with one win and four holds in 26 appearances this season.

Pomeranz (1-6) allowed eight runs on six hits with two strikeouts and two walks across 1.1 innings while taking a loss against the Orioles on Friday.

The Giants spotted Pomeranz a five-run lead in the first inning, but that evaporated during the bottom of the first. The Giants tied the game at 6-6 in the top of the second, but the southpaw again allowed the Orioles to take the lead on a homer in the bottom of the frame. With the Giants failing to score again, Pomeranz took the loss. The 30-year-old was already having a rough season, but with this outing, his ERA jumped to 8.08. He also has a 1.87 WHIP and 43 strikeouts in 39 innings this season. He will look to turn things around in his next start against the Mets on Thursday.
