Strahm (2-6) took the loss against the Rockies on Thursday, pitching 3.1 innings and giving up six runs on seven hits and four walks while striking out four.

Strahm missed only one start after being diagnosed with a rib strain and was tasked with the difficult assignment of pitching in Colorado upon his return. Though Strahm gave up a homer to Trevor Story and Charlie Blackmon, his control was as much to blame for the poor outing as the altitude; he threw only 11 of 21 first pitches for strikes and set a career high by walking four batters. Strahm has followed a strong 10-strikeout appearance against the Yankees on May 27 with a pair of duds in which he has allowed 13 earned runs in 7.2 innings to raise his season ERA from 3.21 to 4.66. He'll try to turn things around when he faces the Brewers on Tuesday in his next scheduled start.

Kimbrel will throw live batting practice Thursday, Mark Gonzales of the Chicago Tribune reports.

Kimbrel has been cleared to face hitters after completing a bullpen session with no issues earlier in the week. If all goes well during Thursday's live BP session, Kimbrel could be cleared to join Triple-A Iowa for a few tune-up appearances before making his debut with the Cubs.

Collins was recalled from Triple-A Iowa on Thursday, Jesse Rogers of ESPN.com reports.

Collins will provide an additional left-handed arm out of the bullpen for Chicago's upcoming series against the Dodgers. He'll take the roster spot of Carl Edwards Jr. (back), who was sent to the injured list Thursday. In five appearances for the Cubs this season, the southpaw has compiled a 3.86 ERA, 1.93 WHIP and 2:2 K:BB in 4.2 innings.

Edwards was placed on the 10-day injured list with a left thoracic strain, Jesse Rogers of ESPN.com reports.

Edwards apparently reported the soreness earlier in the week, which helps explain why he hasn't appeared in a game since Sunday. The severity of the issue is not yet known, leaving the reliever without a timetable for his return. Prior to suffering the injury, the right-hander had compiled a 2.03 ERA and 15:3 K:BB in 13.1 innings since returning from the minors at the beginning of May. Tim Collins was recalled from Triple-A Iowa to take his place on the roster.

Strahm (ribs) was activated from the 10-day injured list ahead of his scheduled start Thursday against the Rockies.

As expected, Strahm is set to rejoin the rotation after a minimum stay on the 10-day injured list with a rib injury. The left-hander posted a 4.03 ERA, 1.16 WHIP and 56:11 K:BB in 11 starts (60.1 innings) prior to landing on the shelf. Robert Stock was sent to the minors in a corresponding move.

Williams (shoulder) is beginning a throwing program, Jesse Dougherty of The Washington Post reports.

He was throwing back in May but must have been shut down briefly at some point in the last month. Williams will provide organizational bullpen depth once healthy.

Jackson allowed an unearned run on two hits during the ninth inning but still recorded his 10th save in a 6-5 victory against the Pirates on Thursday.

The Braves closer recorded the first two outs of the frame via the ground ball, one of which was produced on a nice bare-handed play from Dansby Swanson. Jackson gave up a double and infield single to the next two batters, but because the first baserunner advanced to third base on a passed ball before the single, the run was unearned. Still, Jackson has given up runs in four of his last five outings. He is 3-1 with a 3.18 ERA, 1.24 WHIP and 49 strikeouts in 34 innings. Jackson is also 10-for-15 in save chances.

Cabrera was recalled from Triple-A Memphis prior to Thursday's game against the Mets.

Ryan Helsley (shoulder impingement) landed on the injured list, so the Cardinals needed a fresh bullpen arm. Cabrera has only worked as a starter this year and last pitched June 9, so he could piggyback Daniel Ponce de Leon's start Friday in New York.

Helsley (right shoulder impingement) was placed on the 10-day injured list Thursday.

According to Anne Rogers of MLB.com, Helsley will receive an anti-inflammatory, which should allow him to resume playing catch within a few days. The right-hander has been up and down between the majors and Triple-A this year and logged a 3.48 ERA and 0.97 WHIP with 12 strikeouts in 10.1 innings as he adjusts to a new role as a reliever. Genesis Cabrera was summoned to take his spot in the bullpen.

Brebbia, who allowed three earned runs on two hits and a walk while recording a strikeout over an inning in a loss to the Marlins on Wednesday, now has a 15.75 ERA over the four innings covering his five appearances in June.

Heading into June, Brebbia was mostly cruising, as he sported a 1.53 ERA and seven holds across 29.1 innings. However, he's subsequently allowed multiple earned runs in three of his five outings during the current month, a stretch that's been in stark contrast to the caliber of effort he'd turned in the first two months-plus of the campaign. Brebbia's rising 3.24 ERA and 1.08 WHIP are both certainly solid numbers in a vacuum, but they lose some of their luster when compared to earlier in the season.
