Yamamoto (4-3) allowed four runs on five hits with one walk and six strikeouts across six innings while taking a loss against the Mets on Wednesday.

Since starting his MLB career on a tremendous hot streak, Yamamoto has come back down to earth in his last four starts, posting an 0-3 record with an 8.55 ERA since July 21. He still has an impressive 1.04 WHIP and .175 batting average against, but Yamamoto is also 4-3 with a 4.17 ERA and 55 strikeouts in 54 innings this season. He will look to end this rough patch at home against the Dodgers on Tuesday in his next start.

Lambert (2-3) took the loss Wednesday, coughing up nine runs on seven hits and four walks over three-plus innings while striking out one as the Rockies were routed 14-3 by the Astros.

Jose Altuve and Yuli Gurriel both took the right-hander deep in the first inning, setting the tone for a brutal afternoon. Lambert will carry a 6.87 ERA and 41:16 K:BB through 55 innings into his next start Monday, at home against Arizona.

Reyes is traveling to St. Louis on Wednesday to meet with team doctors due to continuing pain in his shoulder/pectoral area, Derrick Goold of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.

The injury issues just keep coming for the beleaguered young righty. He threw a bullpen session Monday for the first time since straining his pectoral muscle in late June, but his arm evidently didn't respond well to the activity. More information on his eventual return timeline should become clearer after his doctor visit.

Lamet (1-2) earned the win against Seattle on Tuesday, hurling seven scoreless innings and allowing two hits and four walks while striking out 12.

Lamet was unhittable most of the night, as he allowed only four baserunners -- all on walks -- through six innings. He began the seventh with a strikeout but subsequently lost the no-hitter when Omar Narvaez lined a clean single to center field. He then allowed a double to Kyle Seager before inducing a popout and a strikeout, the latter of which brought him to 12 total whiffs in the game to tie his career high. The dominant performance earned Lamet his first victory since 2017 and ended a string of three straight no-decisions. The 27-year-old will look to build upon the strong outing in his next appearance, a home start against the Rockies on Sunday.

Jansen pitched a scoreless ninth inning to earn the save against the Cardinals on Tuesday, allowing one hit while striking out one batter.

Jansen came on to protect a two-run lead and fervently attacked the zone, hurling 12 of 14 pitches for strikes. He allowed the tying run to reach base on a two-out single but kept his composure, whiffing Kolten Wong on four pitches to end the game. The three-time All-Star ranks fifth in the majors with 26 saves (in 30 chances) this season while sporting a 3.50 ERA, 1.03 WHIP and 58:11 K:BB over 43.2 innings.

Menez (0-1) took the loss against the Nationals on Tuesday, giving up five earned runs on six hits over six innings, striking out four and walking three in the Giants' 5-3 defeat.

Making his second career big-league start, Menez mostly held his own, but he was ultimately dealt the loss as he yielded a pair of long balls to Kurt Suzuki and Trea Turner. He's given up seven earned runs on nine hits with a 10:5 K:BB over his 11 innings with the Giants this season.

Pomeranz will start Wednesday's game at Pittsburgh, Tom Haudricourt of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.

Pomeranz has looked good through his first two outings with the Brewers, allowing two hits and zero walks while recording five strikeouts in two scoreless frames. The Brewers will go with a bullpen day in the series finale, so the veteran left-hander figures to throw a couple innings if he pitches well. GM David Stearns said after the team acquired Pomeranz that he viewed him primarily as a reliever, and that doesn't appear to be changing despite Wednesday's "starting" nod.

Underwood pitched two perfect innings and struck out all six batters he faced in Tuesday's 11-4 loss to the Athletics.

Relieving an ineffective Jon Lester, Underwood did what he could to keep the Cubs afloat. This was the 25-year-old's first MLB appearance of the season after getting the call from Triple-A Iowa Monday, and following the dominant performance, he figures to stick in the bullpen for the time being.

Barraclough was designated for assignment by Washington on Tuesday, Jamal Collier of MLB.com reports.

Barraclough was booted off the 40-man roster to make room for Asdrubal Cabrera, who was signed by the Nationals on Monday. Barraclough will now be subjected to waivers after posting a 6.66 ERA with 30 strikeouts over 25.2 innings in the big leagues this season.

Boxberger agreed to a minor-league contract with Cincinnati on Tuesday, C. Trent Rosecrans of The Athletic reports.

Boxberger was let go by the Nationals on Sunday, but the right-hander's time on the open market didn't last long. He'll likely join Cincinnati's Triple-A affiliate, the Bats, as bullpen depth. Boxberger has struggled to a 5.40 ERA and 1.58 WHIP with a 27:17 K:BB over 26.2 innings this season in the big leagues.
