Suter will not be allowed to pitch on back-to-back days this season, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.

It has been a pretty remarkable recovery for Suter, who underwent Tommy John surgery on Aug. 1, 2018 and has made it back in time to be a weapon out of the bullpen for the surging Brewers. He has asked to be allowed to pitch on back-to-back days, but manager Craig Counsell said it was "doctor's orders" to give him a rest day following every appearance. Suter, who last pitched Tuesday, has a 0.73 ERA, 0.41 WHIP, 10 strikeouts and two wins in 12.1 innings (six appearances) since being activated at the start of the month.

Iglesias gave up a hit and struck out two in a scoreless 10th inning Wednesday to record his 33rd save of the season in a 3-2 win over the Cubs.

The Reds closer remains perfect in September, converting all six of his save chances without allowing a run over eight appearances. Iglesias sports a 4.06 ERA, 1.24 WHIP and 86:21 K:BB through 64.1 innings on the season.

Yates walked one and struck out one in a scoreless ninth inning Wednesday to record his 41st save of the season in a 2-1 win over the Brewers.

He's been used sparingly in September due to a lack of save chances -- Yates last pitched eight days ago, and has only made four appearances on the month -- but the 32-year-old has remained dominant. His last blown save came Aug. 4, and on the year he now has a 1.21 ERA, 0.89 WHIP and 100:13 K:BB -- the first time in his career he's reached the century mark in whiffs.

Lamet (3-5) picked up the win Wednesday, giving up one run on three hits and three walks over six innings while striking out 14 in a 2-1 victory over the Brewers.

The 14 whiffs were a career high for the 27-year-old, and the main blemish on his performance was a solo shot by Keston Hiura in the sixth inning. Lamet will take a 3.84 ERA and 95:28 K:BB through 68 innings into his next start Tuesday, at home against the Dodgers.

Neris struck out two in a perfect ninth inning Wednesday to record his 28th save of the season in a 4-1 win over Atlanta.

The 30-year-old is putting together a strong finish to the campaign. Neris has converted five straight save chances, and he sports a 1.69 ERA, 1.13 WHIP and 14:5 K:BB through 10.2 innings in September to help keep the Phillies' fading playoff hopes alive.

Jansen gave up two runs on two hits and one walk while striking out none through one inning to record his eighth blown save in an 8-7 loss to the Rays on Wednesday.

Jansen entered the ninth inning with a two-run lead and quickly allowed three baserunners and two runs that tied the game. The runs allowed broke a four-game scoreless streak for Jansen, who has a 3.68 ERA and three saves in his last seven appearances. The 31-year-old has a 3.81 ERA and a 1.07 WHIP with 30 saves and eight blown saves in 58 appearances this season.

Munoz won't pitch again this season, Kevin Acee of The San Diego Union-Tribune reports.

Munoz pitched 58.2 total innings between the minor and major leagues in 2019, more than doubling last year's workload. The fireballing rookie held a 1.69 ERA following his 20th big-league outing Sept. 7 but appeared fatigued over his final two appearances, giving up six runs in 1.2 innings to inflate his season ERA to 3.91. Nonetheless, Munoz turned a lot of heads in his first stint in the majors, averaging 99.9 mph on his fastball and posting an impressive 11.7 K/9 while frequently pitching in high-leverage situations. The 20-year-old is likely to be a key part of the Padres' bullpen next season.

Manager Joe Maddon said there is a "strong possibility" Kimbrel (elbow) will be activated for Thursday's series opener against the Cardinals, Gordon Wittenmyer of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.

This lines up with a report from earlier in the day that Kimbrel would likely be back for one of the first two games of this pivotal series. He has been shaky at times and it seems like he may be getting rushed back, but he is the Cubs' clear closer when active.

Hoffman allowed two runs on five hits with one walk and three strikeouts across 5.1 innings during a no-decision against the Mets on Wednesday.

The 26-year-old pitched quite well, departing with a lead, but the Rockies bullpen gave up five runs after he left. Hoffman has won just one of his last 10 outings, but this was probably the first time where it was the bullpen's fault. Hoffman hasn't pitched deep into games, and in some cases, he's given up a lot of runs. He is 2-6 with a 6.71 ERA, 1.62 WHIP and 61 strikeouts in 61.2 innings across 13 starts. He lines up for this final start of the season against the Giants on the road Wednesday.

Kimbrel (elbow) could come off the 10-day injured list Thursday or Friday against the Cardinals, Jesse Rogers of ESPN.com reports.

He threw a 16-pitch simulated game Tuesday, and it sounds like he is a day or two away from being ready to face big-league hitters. Kimbrel has only given up runs in five of his 21 appearances, but when he gives up runs he typically gives up a few, which is why his ERA is 5.68. If he does indeed come off the injured list early in this four-game series against the Cardinals, Kimbrel could notch another handful of saves before season's end.
