Young could be used as the primary starter for Sunday's season finale against the Pirates, Nick Piecoro of the Arizona Republic reports.

In some form, Young will pitch Sunday, either as the starter or the primary pitcher. The schedule should be finalized after Taijuan Walker (elbow, shoulder) completes a bullpen session Thursday. If all goes well, Walker will serve as Sunday's opener with Young waiting to piggyback.

Jansen threw a scoreless and hitless inning to record his 32nd save in a 6-4 win over the Padres on Wednesday.

Jansen made quick work of the Padres, facing the minimum on 11 pitches to nail down the save. With this save, Jansen became the 30th player in MLB history with 300 saves. The 31-year-old has a 5-3 record with a 3.77 ERA and 77 strikeouts through 62 innings.

Lamet gave up four runs on six hits and two walks while striking out 10 through five innings in a no-decision agains the Dodgers on Wednesday.

Lamet allowed three runs in the first two innings, but settled down to only give up one more run in his final three frames. Lamet registered 11 swinging strikes and 18 called strikes, but he also allowed three home runs. Lamet registered 24 strikeouts in his final two starts. The 27-year-old will finish the season with a 3-5 record with a 4.07 ERA and 105 strikeouts through 73 innings.

Smith (6-0) picked up the win against the Rockies on Wednesday after tossing a perfect inning with three strikeouts.

Smith came into a tied ninth inning and retired the side in order with three consecutive punchouts. Teammate Jaylin Davis then hit a walkoff home run in the bottom of the frame to gift Smith and the Giants with the win. Across 63 games this season, the 30-year-old closer has tallied 34 saves with a 2.76 ERA and 1.03 WHIP.

Jackson (9-2) earned the win Wednesday after holding the Royals scoreless with four strikeouts across 1.1 innings.

The right-hander punched out all four batters faced through the fifth and sixth innings as the Braves took the lead for good. Through 69 appearances this season, Jackson owns a 3.88 ERA and 1.42 WHIP with 18 saves.

Kelly (lower body) is not expected to pitch again until Sunday, Ken Gurnick of MLB.com reports.

Manager Dave Roberts previously suggested that Kelly would return to the mound Thursday, but plans appear to have changed and Kelly will now have only one outing -- the season finale against the Giants -- to gear up for the postseason. He'll need to make it through a bullpen session first, currently scheduled for Friday. Although Roberts has insisted that Kelly would be pitching if the playoffs were underway, Kelly's lack of playing time down the stretch -- he has appeared in only one game since Sept. 14 -- and the vague details about his condition are becoming increasingly concerning.

Clarke will start Friday against the Padres, Jack Magruder of the Associated Press reports.

Clarke will get an opportunity with Luke Weaver and Zac Gallen each done pitching for the season. Clarke has made 14 starts and eight relief appearances this season but hasn't been particularly effective, recording a 5.40 ERA while striking out just 17.9 percent of opposing batters.

Brebbia (3-4) took the loss in an extra-innings defeat at the hands of the Diamondbacks on Tuesday, allowing an earned run on a walk and three hits over two-thirds of an inning while recording two strikeouts.

Brebbia actually fired 19 of his 21 pitches for strikes, but he left too many of his offerings over the plate and paid the price. The right-hander allowed back-to-back singles to Carson Kelly and Nick Ahmed to open the home half of the 19th inning and then appeared to be on his way out of the jam with consecutive strikeouts. However, an intentional walk to Christian Walker loaded the bases for Ildemaro Vargas, who delivered a game-winning single. The 29-year-old Brebbia has now surrendered three earned runs across his last two appearances, but he's otherwise enjoyed a solid September with three holds and scoreless outings in his six of his other seven trips to the mound.

Pomeranz threw a scoreless eighth inning in Tuesday's victory over the Reds.

Pomeranz has not seen a save opportunity since picking up saves Sept. 10 and 17 when Josh Hader was unavailable, but he has turned in three scoreless appearances. He has kept the opponent off the scoreboard 11 times in 12 appearances this month and has posted a 1.64 ERA, 0.64 WHIP and 21:1 K:BB along the way.

Suter pitched three scoreless innings and picked up his fourth win of the season in Tuesday's victory over the Reds.

Suter entered Tuesday in the fifth inning in relief of Adrian Houser, and although he found himself in jams in both his second and third frames, he kept the Reds off the scoreboard and picked up his fourth win in 17 days. Suter missed most of the season while recovering from Tommy John surgery, but he has been huge for the Brewers in September, allowing just one earned run in 17.1 innings (0.52 ERA) while posting a 0.58 WHIP and 14:1 K:BB.
