Antone (0-1) allowed one run on two hits and four walks while striking out four over 4.1 innings in a loss to Cleveland on Wednesday.

The 26-year-old showcased a good breaking ball in his first career MLB start and finished with 13 swinging strikes on 82 total pitches. Antone debuted out of the bullpen last week, allowing one run on one hit and one walk while striking out five over 4.1 innings against the Cubs. While Antone does not project for another start in the immediate future, he will almost certainly get another chance to start before the end of the season.

Neris retired the only batter he faced to earn the save in Game 1 of Wednesday's doubleheader against the Yankees.

The Phillies appeared to have things locked up as they entered the final frame with an 11-3 lead, but the bullpen fell apart and Neris was forced warmup and enter for the one-out save. The 31-year-old threw only one pitch, but given the shortened preparations for the season, he was then unavailable to pitch the nightcap, which included more bullpen issues for Philadelphia.

Hader tossed a perfect ninth inning with one strikeout to earn the save against the White Sox on Wednesday.

Called upon to protect a tight 1-0 lead in the ninth, Hader finished things off with ease, throwing 8-of-11 pitches for strikes. Earning his second save, the left-hander remained flawless on the season, during which he has yet to allow a run across three appearances.

De Los Santos was optioned to the Phillies' alternate training site after Wednesday's doubleheader against the Yankees, Matt Breen of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.

The 24-year-old was recalled Monday but will make a quick return to the alternate site with the Phillies needing to trim the roster to 28 players Thursday. De Los Santos didn't make an appearance during his brief time with the team.

Yamamoto will start Thursday's game against the Orioles, Jordan McPherson of the Miami Herald reports.

The 24-year-old was recalled by the Marlins on Tuesday, and it unsurprisingly won't take long before he enters the starting rotation with the team missing a plethora of players after the COVID-19 outbreak. Yamamoto had a 4.46 ERA, 1.14 WHIP and 82:36 K:BB in 15 starts as a rookie last season and will now have a chance to showcase himself in 2020.

Burdi was placed on the 45-day injured list with an unspecified elbow injury Wednesday.

The Pirates handled the oft-injured righty cautiously early in the season, avoiding using him on back-to-back days, but the injury bug returned nonetheless. He picked up his first career save in one of his three appearances this season but may not pitch again this year, as there will be little over a week left in the season if he returns when first eligible in mid-September. Burdi has thrown just 43.1 total innings across all levels since the start of the 2016 season. Keone Kela will be the Pirates' closer when he returns from the COVID-19 injured list.

Webb was listed by manager Mike Shildt on Wednesday as part of a group of pitchers who could see save chances going forward, Jeff Jones of the Belleville News-Democrat reports.

The Cardinals have no clear next man up after moving Kwang Hyun Kim back to the rotation. It would be a surprise to see Webb get many opportunities in the ninth inning, as his 3.76 ERA last season was fine but hardly closer material, while his 21.7 percent strikeout rate, 10.4 percent walk rate and 41.1 percent groundball rate were all worse than league average. He could see opportunities with a run of lefties up in the ninth inning, though Andrew Miller may be the primary option in those instances.

Gallegos was mentioned by manager Mike Shildt on Wednesday among a group of Cardinals who could pitch in the ninth inning going forward, Jeff Jones of the Belleville News-Democrat reports.

Kwang-Hyun Kim was the Cardinals' closer to open the year, but the team has since decided he's best suited to a starting role. Gallegos was drafted as the likely closer by most fantasy players this offseason, though he was merely mentioned as one of several options by Shildt. Gallegos had closer-like numbers last season, striking out 33.3 percent of opposing batters while walking just 5.7 percent en route to a 2.31 ERA, though he recorded just a single save.

Helsley was mentioned by manager Mike Shildt on Wednesday as one of the Cardinals' top candidates to close going forward, Jeff Jones of the Belleville News-Democrat reports.

Kwang-Hyun Kim opened the year as the Cardinals' closer, but the team has since decided to move him into the rotation. With Jordan Hicks opting out of the season, the ninth inning is wide open in St. Louis, and Helsley was one of a large group of candidates who are being considered for the job. Helsley has closer velocity, with his fastball averaging just shy of 98 mph, though he hasn't necessarily achieved closer-worthy results through his first 39.1 big-league innings. His 2.75 ERA is quite strong, but it's come with a 4.04 FIP and a 5.04 xFIP, as his 21.1 percent strikeout rate is rather unimpressive.

Gonzalez was optioned to the Dodgers' alternate training site Wednesday, Pedro Moura of The Athletic reports.

Gonzalez spent less than a week on the big-league roster, allowing a run on three hits in one inning in his only appearance. Zach McKinstry was recalled in a corresponding move.
