The Cardinals recalled Ponce de Leon from their alternate training site ahead of their doubleheader Monday in Milwaukee.

Kwang Hyun Kim (elbow) was reinstated from the 10-day injured list and will start the first game of the twin bill, while Ponce de Leon takes the hill in the nightcap for his sixth start of 2020. The Cardinals are designating Ponce de Leon as their 29th man for the doubleheader, so he'll likely be sent back to the alternate site following his start. Over 15.2 innings with the big club this season, Ponce de Leon has allowed 13 earned runs on 15 hits and 15 walks while striking out 21.

Young is listed as the Diamondbacks' probable starter for Thursday's series finale against the Angels.

In his last appearance Sept. 11, Young worked out of the bullpen in what amounted to a piggyback outing between him and Caleb Smith, who was making his Diamondbacks debut and his first start since he tested positive for COVID-19 in late July. Smith should be stretched out enough to work longer in his scheduled start Wednesday, but Young -- who covered 5.2 innings in relief against Seattle -- will step back into the rotation Thursday. The 17-31 Diamondbacks have no visions of earning a playoff spot at this point, so manager Torey Lovullo could include Young in a six-man rotation over the final two weeks of the season with the aim of giving each of Arizona's other five starters an additional day of rest between turns.

Gonzalez (3-0) allowed a hit and struck out a pair over two innings to earn the win Sunday versus the Astros.

Gonzalez was one of eight pitchers the Dodgers used in the contest and the only one to work multiple innings. His performance was worthy of the win in a game in which the Dodgers never trailed. Gonzalez has a 1.13 ERA, 0.63 WHIP and 17 strikeouts in 10 outings spanning 16 innings, mainly in the middle innings.

Graterol (knee) allowed one hit and struck out three over a scoreless inning in Sunday's win over the Astros.

Graterol worked the first inning of the Dodgers' bullpen game, and he did his part well, throwing 11 of his 12 pitches for strikes. The 22-year-old has mainly worked out of the bullpen this year, to the tune of a 3.06 ERA, 0.96 WHIP and 11 strikeouts across 17.2 innings. He will likely continue to be used in relief situations going forward.

Iglesias threw two scoreless innings against the Cardinals on Sunday, allowing one walk while striking out three en route to his seventh save of the season.

Iglesias retired the side in order in the eighth with the Reds leading 8-5, and he finished the game out after Cincinnati padded its lead with two more runs in the top of the ninth. With that, Iglesias helped snapped an 0-3-6 skid for the team in its last nine series. He's clearly still the closer even with Archie Bradley now in town.

Hill (3-0) pitched two-thirds of an inning and didn't allow a baserunner to earn the win in Game 2 of Sunday's doubleheader versus the Giants.

Hill relieved starter Garrett Richards and got the last two outs of the fifth inning to keep the game tied at 1-1.The Padres scored twice in the bottom half of the inning, and that made Hill the pitcher of record. Through 12.1 innings this season, the southpaw has a 3.65 ERA, 0.97 WHIP and 14 strikeouts across 17 appearances. He's collected three holds but isn't likely to challenge Trevor Rosenthal for save chances.

White completed a four-inning simulated game Sunday and is in line to start Friday against the Rockies, Eric Stephen of SBNation.com reports.

The 25-year-old delivered a scoreless inning during his big-league debut in late August, and it appears his second outing could be his first MLB start. The Dodgers are employing a bullpen day Sunday with Walker Buehler (finger) on the injured list, but White appears on track to fill in for Buehler's next turn in the rotation.

Graterol (knee) will start Sunday night's game against the Astros, Jorge Castillo of the Los Angeles Times reports.

The 22-year-old hasn't pitched since Wednesday after he tweaked his knee, but he'll return to the mound Sunday with the Dodgers opting for a bullpen game. Graterol's longest outing this season has been 1.2 innings, so it's unlikely he'll pitch more than two frames.

The Phillies optioned Brogdon to their alternate training site following their 2-1 loss to the Marlins in the first game of Sunday's doubleheader.

With top backstop J.T. Realmuto (hip) not available for either end of the twin bill, the Phillies called up catcher Rafael Marchan to add some depth behind the plate after Andrew Knapp drew the start in Game 1. Marchan will take the active roster spot of Brogdon, who struck out four over 2.1 perfect innings of long relief in the Phillies' 2-1 loss in the first game.

Guerra was placed on the 10-day injured list for personal reasons Sunday, Kevin Acee of The San Diego Union-Tribune reports.

The Friars didn't provide a reason for the move, but it apparently isn't related to COVID-19. Guerra hasn't seen game action since Sept. 4, and he will now be unavailable a bit longer.
