Blake Treinen RP | LAD
Dodgers' Blake Treinen: Collects hold Friday
Treinen notched a hold in Friday's win over the Padres, allowing two hits and striking out two over one scoreless inning.
The right-hander retired the first two batters he faced before getting into a bit of trouble when San Diego followed with a pair of singles. However, Treinen recovered by striking out Wil Myers to end the threat. The veteran reliever has tallied 28 holds on the campaign, the most in MLB. He has held opponents scoreless while notching an 11:3 K:BB across his past nine outings.

Kenley Jansen RP | DET
Dodgers' Kenley Jansen: Secures 31st save
Jansen allowed one hit and no runs over one inning against the Padres on Friday to earn the save.
The veteran closer was handed the ball in the ninth inning and tasked with protecting a 3-0 Dodgers lead. He allowed a two-out Adam Frazier single but was otherwise very effective, needing only seven pitches (six of which were strikes) to close out the contest. Jansen has rebounded from a rough three-game stretch in July by going a perfect 10-for-10 in save chances over his past 19 appearances. Over that stretch, he has posted a 1.35 ERA, 0.85 WHIP and 25:8 K:BB across 20 innings.

Robert Stephenson RP | LAA
Rockies' Robert Stephenson: Back from paternity list
Stephenson was reinstated from the paternity list Saturday.
He has a 2.45 ERA, 1.00 WHIP, 12 strikeouts and one win over his last 10 appearances (11 innings). Ben Bowden was optioned to Triple-A in a corresponding move.

Camilo Doval RP | NYY
Giants' Camilo Doval: Collects win Friday
Doval allowed a hit in one-third of an inning and earned the win Friday versus the Cubs.
The right-hander got the final out of the sixth inning to keep the game tied at 1-1, and San Francisco's offense took over in the seventh. Doval owns a 5.65 ERA, 1.40 WHIP and 19:7 K:BB across 14.1 innings this year. With the rotation thin on healthy arms, Doval could see a small uptick in work.

Dominic Leone RP | CHW
Giants' Dominic Leone: Works two innings Friday
Leone pitched two perfect innings as the opener in Friday's 6-1 win over Chicago. He struck out two and did not factor in the decision.
Friday was just the second multi-inning appearance of the year for Leone, but he delivered strong work in his second turn as an opener. He's produced excellent ratios this year with a 1.48 ERA, 1.05 WHIP and 40:20 K:BB across 42.2 innings. Leone could see additional opening opportunities while Alex Wood (COVID-19) and Johnny Cueto (elbow) remain unavailable, as manager Gabe Kapler has shown little hesitation to use a bullpen game to address an understaffed rotation.

Sam Coonrod RP | NYM
Phillies' Sam Coonrod: Clean inning as opener
Coonrod struck out one in a perfect inning during Friday's 11-2 loss to Colorado.
The right-hander was one of two Philadelphia pitchers, along with Cam Bedrosian, to keep runs off the board. Coonrod has been a steady presence this year with a 3.75 ERA, 1.19 WHIP and 42:12 K:BB across 36 innings. He's logged a 2-2 record, two saves, eight holds and three blown saves. Since he returned from forearm tendinitis, he's allowed two runs on five hits, two walks and two hit batters while racking up 12 strikeouts in eight innings.

Dakota Hudson SP | LAA
Cardinals' Dakota Hudson: Builds up to four rehab innings
Hudson (elbow) worked up to four innings and 46 pitches in his most recent rehab start for Double-A Springfield on Tuesday, the team's official site reports.
The right-hander's remarkable road to recovery continued without a hitch in that outing, one in which Hudson was able to scatter four hits and a walk while only allowing a pair of unearned runs. Hudson's velocity, feel and spin rates have all reportedly been solid through his first three rehab appearances, and he'll next take the hill for Springfield on Sunday.

Alex Reyes RP | LAD
Cardinals' Alex Reyes: New role considered transitional
Reyes, who earned his sixth win in his most recent appearance Thursday versus the Dodgers with two scoreless innings, will be utilized as a multi-inning reliever for the remainder of the season with an eye on building him up for a rotation spot in 2022, Zachary Silver of MLB.com reports.
Reyes was essentially bounced from closer duties after a rough patch in August, but the shift to more of a long-relief is part of a longer-term plan anyhow. The team believes it can begin laying the groundwork for Reyes to build back up to a starter's workload through the bullpen before he heads into an offseason regimen tailored to that same goal. Reyes looked comfortable in Thursday's victory after allowing home runs in back-to-back appearances, as he surrendered just one hit and no walks while recording two strikeouts over his pair of frames.

Sean Nolin RP | MIA
Nationals' Sean Nolin: Drops appeal
Nolin will begin serving his five-game suspension Friday, Mark Zuckerman of MASNSports.com reports.
Nolin initially planned to appeal his suspension for intentionally hitting Freddie Freeman on Wednesday, but he'll be unavailable for the next five games after he dropped his appeal. The southpaw's suspension is unlikely to have a significant impact on his next turn through the rotation, as the team will be able to push him back a day. Nolin now tentatively lines up to make his next start at home against the Marlins on Wednesday.
