  • Tyler Rogers RP | TOR

    Giants' Tyler Rogers: Multi-inning win

Rogers (7-1) got the win in Thursday's 5-4 victory over Arizona, allowing two hits with one strikeout across two scoreless innings.

Rogers was brought in for the eighth inning of a 4-4 game and stayed in for the ninth after retiring the side in order on 11 pitches. The final frame was a bit more eventful but an out on the basepaths helped the 30-year-old navigate a pair of hits. He fell in line for the victory when San Francisco walked it off in the bottom of the frame. It was a nice rebound outing for Rogers, who surrendered two runs in one inning to Arizona on Tuesday, though he probably won't be available Friday after firing 26 pitches.

  • Ryan Weathers SP | NYY

Padres' Ryan Weathers: Back to Triple-A

Weathers was optioned to Triple-A El Paso on Thursday.

Weathers was hit hard Wednesday in a spot start, as he allowed five earned runs on five hits and three walks against the Dodgers. The move will likely end his first regular season at the major-league level, and he posted a 5.32 ERA and 1.38 WHIP with a 72:30 K:BB across 94.2 frames.

  • Pirates' Carmen Mlodzinski: Transferred to Triple-A

Mlodzinski was transferred from High-A Greensboro to Triple-A Indianapolis on Thursday, Alex Stumpf of DKPittsburghSports.com reports.

Since the High-A season has wrapped up, Mlodzinski will get the chance to log some extra innings to close out the Triple-A campaign. The right-hander missed time with a shoulder injury earlier in the year but posted a 3.93 ERA and 1.32 WHIP in 50.1 innings across 14 starts in Greensboro this year.

  • Dillon Peters RP | PIT

Pirates' Dillon Peters: Shifts to 60-day IL

Peters (back) was transferred to the 60-day injured list Thursday, Mike Persak of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.

Peters was already ruled out for the season after landing on the 10-day IL late last week, and the move to the 60-day IL is just a procedural move to free up a spot on the 40-man roster. The 29-year-old recently resumed throwing and should have plenty of time to build back to full strength for spring training.

  • Luis Garcia RP | MIN

Cardinals' Luis Garcia: Locks down second save

Garcia earned a two-out save with a pair of strikeouts Thursday against the Brewers.

With the Cardinals holding onto a one-run lead in the ninth, Garcia came into the game to replace T.J. McFarland after he issued a one-walk out. The right-hander sent Lorenzo Cain and Kolten Wong down on strikes to finish things off. While Giovanny Gallegos remains the closer in St. Louis, Garcia has provided sufficient bullpen support, pitching to the tune of a 2.78 ERA and 0.96 WHIP with a pair of saves across 33 appearances.

  • Dodgers' Brusdar Graterol: Struggles against Padres

Graterol didn't record an out against San Diego on Wednesday, allowing three runs on two hits and two walks.

The flamethrowing reliever couldn't find his control in the outing, tossing only eight of 19 pitches for strikes and issuing two free passes. The three runs the Padres scored against Graterol extended their lead to 9-5, but a big eighth inning by the Dodgers turned the game around and allowed them to pull out an important win. Graterol entered the contest having compiled eight straight scoreless appearances, and he appears likely to be part of the team's playoff roster.

  • Dinelson Lamet RP | LAD

Padres' Dinelson Lamet: Excels in multi-inning role

Lamet tossed 2.1 scoreless innings in relief in Wednesday's 11-9 loss to the Dodgers, striking out two while allowing only one baserunner on a single.

Since returning from a one-month stint on the injured list Sept. 1, Lamet has pitched exclusively in a relief role for San Diego. After stumbling in his initial relief appearances, Lamet has looked much sharper over the past two weeks. He's permitted one earned run over his last five outings while posting an 8:3 K:BB in eight innings.

  • Dominic Leone RP | CHW

Giants' Dominic Leone: Collects win Wednesday

Leone (4-5) allowed a hit and struck out one in a scoreless inning to earn the win Wednesday over Arizona.

The right-hander kept Arizona off the board in the seventh inning and then became the pitcher of record when Kris Bryant's sacrifice fly plated the lone run in the bottom of the frame. Leone has been effective and a little unlucky in September, allowing five runs (two earned) across 14 innings. He's emerged as a high-leverage option this year with a 1.59 ERA, 1.10 WHIP, 46:21 K:BB, two saves and 14 holds through 51 innings.

  • Hoby Milner RP | CHC

Brewers' Hoby Milner: Optioned back to Triple-A

Milner was sent back to Triple-A Nashville on Thursday.

Milner spent just two days with the team, allowing two runs in two innings on a pair of solo homers Tuesday against the Cardinals in his only appearance. Keston Hiura was recalled to fill his roster spot.

  • Dylan Floro RP | ARI

Marlins' Dylan Floro: Collects 13th save

Floro struck out two in a perfect ninth inning Wednesday to record his 13th save of the season in Wednesday's 3-2 win over the Mets.

The 30-year-old has been solid since taking over the closer role for the Marlins after the trade deadline, posting a 3.43 ERA, 1.14 WHIP and 20:7 K:BB through 21 innings while converting 11 of 13 save chances. Assuming the team doesn't bring in a more established ninth-inning arm in the offseason, Floro will likely head into spring training next year as the favorite to retain the role, although his skill set is probably better suited to being a setup man.
