The Marlins placed Fairbanks (hand) on the 15-day injured list Tuesday due to nerve irritation.

Fairbanks exited Monday's contest against the Dodgers after losing feeling in his right hand, and he said after the game that it was similar to the nerve issue he dealt with back in April 2024 while he was with the Rays. He was out for about three weeks then, though the Marlins are optimistic that he won't miss more than the minimum 15 days this time around, per Christina De Nicola of MLB.com. In the meantime, Anthony Bender, Andrew Nardi, Calvin Faucher and Tyler Phillips will all be options to pick up saves for the Marlins, and Cade Gibson will come up from Triple-A Jacksonville to round out the bullpen.

Foley (shoulder) is throwing live batting practice Tuesday, Justice delos Santos of The San Jose Mercury News reports.

The right-hander continues working his way back from right shoulder surgery that he underwent last May, and facing live batters should be one of the final hurdles before he's cleared to begin a rehab assignment. Foley will likely need a lengthy rehab stint in the minors, but he has plenty of time to build his arm back up since he won't be eligible to be reinstated from the 60-day IL until late May.

Beeter (forearm) had an MRI come back clean and was cleared to resume throwing Tuesday, Mark Zuckerman of NatsJournal.com reports.

The right-hander landed on the injured list Sunday due to right forearm soreness, but the quick return to throwing should allow him to avoid a lengthy stay on the shelf. Beeter will be eligible to be reinstated May 8 in Miami, and it's possible he'll be able to return on or shortly after that date.

Atlanta manager Walt Weiss said Tuesday that Iglesias (shoulder) has resumed throwing, Grant McAuley of the Marietta Daily Journal reports.

Weiss added that he expects Iglesias back from the 15-day injured list when first eligible May 5 or shortly after. It's unclear whether Atlanta will ask Iglesias to go out on a brief rehab assignment first. Iglesias landed on the IL a week ago with right shoulder inflammation.

The Pirates optioned Sanders to Triple-A Indianapolis on Tuesday, Jason Mackey of MLB.com reports.

He's clearing out to make room on the roster for Braxton Ashcraft (personal), who will start Tuesday's game versus the Cardinals. Sanders logged a pair of scoreless appearances in his most recent stint with the Pirates.

The Phillies reinstated Bowlan (groin) from the 15-day injured list Tuesday.

The right-hander has been on the shelf the past couple weeks due to a groin strain, but he's ready to rejoin the Phillies after making one scoreless rehab appearance with Triple-A Lehigh Valley. Bowlan pitched in seven games prior to the injury and posted a 3.86 ERA, 1.29 WHIP and 8:1 K:BB over seven innings.

Lawrence tossed a scoreless inning with one strikeout Monday in the 4-2 loss to the Cardinals.

Lawrence was limited to just 17 appearances last season due to an elbow injury, but Monday's outing marked his 14th already in 2026. The sinker-sweeper pitcher has missed bats consistently, ringing up 16 strikeouts over his first 14 frames. Lawrence is pitching primarily in low-leverage situations for the time being, but that could change if he continues to consistently shut batters down (zero runs allowed in last six appearances).

The Reds assigned Ferguson (oblique) to Double-A Chattanooga to begin a rehab assignment Tuesday.

The left-hander opened the season on the IL due to an oblique strain but is now in the final stage of his rehab program. Ferguson will likely require at least a few appearances in the minors before being cleared to join the active roster.

Atlanta placed Lee on the paternity list Tuesday.

Lee has been an effective high-leverage relief option for Atlanta early in the season with a 1.38 ERA, 0.62 WHIP and 13:2 K:BB over 13 innings, but he will step away from the team for a few days in order to be with his growing family. He should be back with the club for Friday's series opener in Colorado. Didier Fuentes was called up Tuesday in a corresponding move.

Fairbanks described the issue that forced him out of Monday's 5-4 loss to the Dodgers as numbness in his pitching hand, a potential recurrence of the nerve issue that sidelined him in April 2024 during his time with the Rays, Christina De Nicola of MLB.com reports. "Just a lot of diminished sensation," Fairbanks said after the game. "Felt like any movement of the wrist would exacerbate just loss of sensation in the index finger. So we'll see where it goes and how to work on it."

The right-hander was sidelined for about three weeks in 2024 when the issue first surfaced, but Fairbanks went on to have a strong season for Tampa Bay once he returned, converting 23 of 27 save chances with a 3.57 ERA and 1.17 WHIP over 45.1 innings. For however long Fairbanks is unavailable this time around, the Marlins will likely take a committee approach to the ninth inning, with Anthony Bender, Tyler Phillips, Andrew Nardi and Calvin Faucher all options to close out games depending on matchups.
