Alek Jacob RP | SD
Padres' Alek Jacob: Out with shoulder injury
Jacob is out with a right shoulder injury, Sam Dykstra of MLB.com reports.
A 24-year-old righty reliever, Jacob had a 2.68 ERA, 1.12 WHIP and 77 strikeouts in 57 innings across stops in the three highest levels of the minors last year. If he is able to get healthy, he would probably be assigned to Double-A or Triple-A.

Seranthony Dominguez RP | CHW
Phillies' Seranthony Dominguez: Takes loss Sunday
Dominguez (0-1) blew the save and took the loss Sunday against the Reds. He allowed three runs on two hits and two walks while striking out two over one inning.
Dominguez was called upon for his first save opportunity of the season Sunday with the Phillies holding a one-run lead, but he gave up a pair of walks, a single and a double with one out in the ninth inning to lose the lead. While the right-hander had tossed three scoreless innings in his last three appearances, he's given up at least three runs in two of his first five outings in 2023. The Phillies haven't had many save chances early in the season, but Craig Kimbrel, Gregory Soto and Jose Alvarado could see some ninth-inning work given Dominguez's struggles.

Ian Gibaut RP | CIN
Reds' Ian Gibaut: Picks up first save of 2023
Gibaut struck out two in a perfect ninth inning to earn the save during Sunday's 6-4 win over the Phillies.
Gibaut has earned two holds early in 2023, but he was charged with a blown save during Saturday's appearance against the Phillies. However, he got a save chance during Sunday's series finale since the Reds mounted a late-game comeback. Alexis Diaz still figures to be the favorite for ninth-inning work in Cincinnati, but he gave up three earned runs Saturday against Philadelphia. However, Gibaut's recent usage suggests that he has some trust in high-leverage situations.

Tyler Rogers RP | TOR
Giants' Tyler Rogers: Picks up save
Rogers threw a perfect ninth inning to earn a save over the Royals on Sunday.
Rogers needed just six pitches to quickly work through the ninth inning and finish off the 3-1 win. It was his first save chance of the season, and he's now worked four shutout frames with one strikeout and no walks to begin his 2023 campaign. Camilo Doval did not appear in the game and was likely unavailable after pitching Friday and Saturday.

David Bednar RP | NYY
Pirates' David Bednar: Earns fourth save
Bednar struck out two in a scoreless ninth inning Sunday to record his fourth save of the season in a 1-0 victory over the White Sox.
The Pirates continue surpassing preseason expectations, posting a 6-3 record to start the season. As a result, Bednar has benefited, racking up four saves so far. The 28-year-old is uncontested as the Pirates' closer and has posted a 0.00 ERA and 7:0 K:BB through four innings pitched.

Pierce Johnson RP | CIN
Rockies' Pierce Johnson: Secures save
Johnson issued a walk in a scoreless inning and earned a save over the Nationals on Sunday.
Johnson worked around a leadoff walk to finish off the 7-6 victory. He's seemingly locked into Colorado's closer role at the moment, converting on all three of his attempts in four total appearances. During that stretch, he's allowed one run with a 7:2 K:BB.

Collin McHugh RP | ATL
Braves' Collin McHugh: Resumes throwing
Manager Brian Snitker said Sunday that McHugh (shoulder) has resumed throwing, David O'Brien of The Athletic reports.
McHugh landed on the 15-day injured list with right shoulder inflammation but expects to be activated following a minimal IL stint. The right-hander plans to throw off a mound within a day or two and should have plenty of time to build back up before he's eligible to return in late April.

JT Chargois RP | TEX
Marlins' JT Chargois: Suffers apparent injury Sunday
Chargois recorded one out and threw three pitches in the bottom of the seventh of Sunday's game against the Mets before being lifted with an apparent injury, Jordan McPherson of the Miami Herald reports.
Chargois induced a groundout from Luis Guillorme before the Marlins pulled him in favor of Dylan Floro with one out and no runners on. Expect the Marlins to provide an update on Chargois' condition after the game.

Drey Jameson RP | ARI
Diamondbacks' Drey Jameson: Moving into rotation
Diamondbacks manager Torey Lovullo announced Sunday that Jameson is moving into the starting rotation while Zach Davies (oblique) is on the injured list, Theo Mackie of The Arizona Republic reports.
Jameson has been effective out of the bullpen for the Diamondbacks thus far with a 2.16 ERA and 8:5 K:BB over 8.1 innings in three appearances. The right-hander has worked at least two innings in each of his outings -- including four against the Dodgers on March 31 -- and he should be stretched out after competing for the fifth starter spot in the Cactus League. If Jameson pitches well over his first few outings he has a good chance to stay in the rotation even after Davies is ready to return. If the 25-year-old were to struggle, the Diamondbacks could turn to top prospect Brandon Pfaadt in the coming weeks.

Cole Sulser RP | TB
Diamondbacks' Cole Sulser: Moves to 60-day IL
The Diamondbacks transferred Sulser (shoulder) from the 15-day injured list to the 60-day IL on Sunday.
Sulser's move to the 60-day IL removes him from the 40-man roster and clears room for two new additions for the Arizona bullpen, Jose Ruiz and Peter Solomon. The right-hander is dealing with a right shoulder strain and isn't expected to return to the Arizona bullpen until June.
