Scott did not allow a hit or a walk and struck out one in a scoreless inning to earn the save in Wednesday's 2-0 win over the Brewers.

An error put a runner on base, but Scott easily pitched around that to earn his eighth save of the season. He's converted five straight save chances since a blown save Sept. 1 versus the Nationals. He's also gone 18.2 innings without allowing an earned run, though he gave up two unearned runs in that aforementioned blown save. The 29-year-old has a 2.21 ERA, 1.02 WHIP and 93:24 K:BB through 69.1 innings on the year. Given Scott's good performance, he should close the year as Miami's primary closer.

Bednar picked up the save Wednesday against the Nationals. He allowed one run on two hits and two walks while striking out one over an inning.

It certainly wasn't Bednar's cleanest outing -- he was charged with a run after allowing the first three batters to reach safely in the ninth, though he'd ultimately strike out CJ Abrams before coaxing a flyout from Lane Thomas to strand the bases loaded and seal a 7-6 victory. Bednar's now allowed just two earned runs in his last 10 outings (10 innings) while converting 11 straight save opportunities. He's up to 34 saves on the year, tied for fourth most in the majors, with a 1.92 ERA, 1.10 WHIP and 69:18 K:BB through 61 innings this season.

Antone left Wednesday's game against the Tigers due to right elbow discomfort, Gordon Wittenmyer of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.

After recently making his way back from the second Tommy John surgery of his career, Antone is reportedly once again having troubles with his elbow. The Reds will likely run some tests to determine if there is any structural damage in Antone's elbow, but given Antone's injury history, a trip to the injured list seems likely.

Antone was removed from Wednesday's game against Detroit with an apparent injury, Gordon Wittenmyer of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.

The Reds haven't specified what kind of injury Antone is currently dealing with, but more information should be available shortly. Antone recently returned from the injured list after working his way back from his second Tommy John surgery.

The Dodgers optioned Hurt to Triple-A Oklahoma City on Wednesday.

Hurt had an impressive showing during his MLB debut Tuesday, sitting down Fernando Tatis, Juan Soto and Manny Machado during the first of his two innings of work. However, the return of Joe Kelly (forearm) will send Hurt back to Triple-A. Hurt might still have a chance to return before the end of the season if the Dodgers need a fresh bullpen arm.

The Dodgers reinstated Kelly (forearm) from the 15-day injured list Wednesday.

Kelly will return to the Dodgers' bullpen after a month-long stint on the IL with forearm inflammation. The 35-year-old has thrown 3.2 scoreless innings since rejoining the Dodgers in late July, and he could see a handful of high-leverage opportunities before the regular season comes to an end. Kyle Hurt was optioned to Triple-A in a corresponding move.

The Mets optioned Coonrod to Triple-A Syracuse on Wednesday.

Coonrod allowed six earned runs over 1.1 innings (three appearances) during his one-week stay in the Mets' bullpen. Joey Lucchesi has been called up in a corresponding roster move and will start Wednesday versus the Diamondbacks.

Hudson (knee) threw pitches from the slope of the bullpen mound Tuesday, Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic reports.

Hudson hasn't recovered as quickly as hoped after spraining the MCL in his right knee in early July and has been deemed by manager Dave Roberts a "longshot" to return this season. Nonetheless, the veteran reliever is continuing to throw, albeit from the slope of the mound rather than the rubber. That detail suggests that Hudson is still far away from being able to pitch in a game situation, so it's unlikely he returns in 2023, even if the Dodgers make a deep postseason run.

Waites (elbow) underwent Tommy John surgery Wednesday, Maria I. Guardado of MLB.com reports.

Waites was diagnosed with a right elbow sprain back in mid-July and apparently didn't respond very well to a period of rest and rehab. Giving the unfortunate timing of his UCL reconstruction procedure, the 25-year-old can probably be ruled out through all of next season. He's facing a 12-to-15 month recovery process.

Washington optioned Thompson to Triple-A Rochester on Wednesday.

This move clears out a 28-man roster spot for Jackson Rutledge, who is making his major-league debut in a start Wednesday at Pittsburgh. Thompson, 25, has struggled to a 5.50 ERA, 1.56 WHIP and 44:22 K:BB in 54 innings of relief this season with the Nationals.
