Iglesias picked up the save Saturday against the Nationals. He allowed one hit while striking out one over a scoreless inning.

Iglesias converted on his third save of the last four days, holding the Nationals scoreless in the ninth while fanning a batter. After blowing a pair of saves early in September, Iglesias has logged a save in each of his last four chances. With one day left in the regular season, Iglesias ranks eighth in saves and sports a 2.75 ERA across 58 appearances (55.2 innings).

Nelson is slated to serve as Arizona's opening pitcher for Sunday's season finale against Astros.

The Diamondbacks clinched a playoff berth despite losing Saturday, so Arizona will presumably look to rest its key pitchers in the regular-season finale in advance of the postseason. It's unclear if manager Torey Lovullo plans to use a bulk reliever behind Nelson, or treat the contest as more of a bullpen day. Either way, Nelson is unlikely to work more than inning or two Sunday.

Pallante allowed one run on four hits over one inning during Saturday's 15-6 win over the Reds.

Pallante allowed five runs over 13.2 frames in September, an improvement on the 12 runs (11 earned) he allowed in 13.2 innings during August. The right-hander has seen some high-leverage work in 2023, earning 13 holds, but just four of those have come since the start of August as he's worked in more of a middle-relief assignment. Pallante has a 4.76 ERA, 1.56 WHIP and 43:30 K:BB over 68 innings this season, a significant downturn from the 3.17 ERA he recorded over 108 innings as a swingman in 2022.

VerHagen (5-1) allowed one run on one hit and struck out one over one inning to earn the win Saturday over the Reds.

The Cardinals stormed out to an 11-0 lead after three innings, but starter Drew Rom didn't complete five frames. VerHagen was ultimately awarded the win instead of Andre Pallante, who allowed a run on four hits over one inning. VerHagen has been a decent middle reliever this year with a 3.98 ERA, 1.28 WHIP and 60:26 K:BB over a career-high 61 innings across 60 appearances. That's the best he's done in the majors since 2015 with the Tigers.

Walker (5-3) allowed one hit and one walk while striking out one over two scoreless innings to earn the win Saturday over the Dodgers.

Walker has bounced between opening games and working as a low-leverage reliever this year. He's had some struggles in September, allowing 10 runs over 11.1 innings with a 17:9 K:BB, but he's defied a 1.39 WHIP with a 3.23 ERA for the season. Walker has started in 13 of his 49 appearances while adding a 78:24 K:BB, one save, two holds and two blown saves across 61.1 innings overall.

Rogers pitched a perfect inning to earn his 30th hold of the season in Saturday's 2-1 win over the Dodgers.

Despite the Giants' volatility overall, Rogers and Camilo Doval have made quite a formidable duo at the back end of the bullpen. The hold was Rogers' 30th of the season, matching his career-high total from 2021. He's allowed five runs (four earned) over 9.2 innings in September and has a 3.04 ERA, 1.15 WHIP and 60:19 K:BB over 74 innings this season. He's also collected two saves, six blown saves and a 4-5 record.

Doval allowed a hit and struck out one over one scoreless inning to earn the save in Saturday's 2-1 win over the Dodgers.

Doval has had some unsteady moments in September, allowing eight runs (three earned) over 10.1 innings, but he's also picked up four saves this month. Saturday's effort earned him his 39th save of the season, guaranteeing Doval a top-three finish in saves across the majors this year. He's also blown eight chances while posting a 2.93 ERA, 1.14 WHIP and 87:26 K:BB through 67.2 innings.

Beck allowed a run on six hits and a walk while striking out three over five innings in a no-decision versus the Dodgers.

Beck put together a strong outing against a tough opponent, limiting the damage to a Mookie Betts RBI single in the fifth inning. This was just the third start of the year for Beck, who often worked as a piggyback option or a long reliever in his first big-league campaign. The rookie ends the season with a 3.92 ERA, 1.22 WHIP and 68:21 K:BB as well as a 3-3 record, two saves, two holds and a blown save over 33 appearances spanning 85 innings. The right-hander should enter 2024 with a chance to win a spot in the Giants' rotation.

Ottavino recorded his 12th save of the season in the first game of Saturday's doubleheader sweep of the Phillies, giving up two runs on two hits and a walk in the ninth inning of a 4-3 win. He struck out one.

The veteran right-hander nearly blew the save, walking J.T. Realmuto to lead off the ninth and watching rookie Weston Wilson steal two bags after his one-out RBI single brought the Phillies to within a run, but Ottavino was able to retire Jake Cave and Cristian Pache to end the rally. The 12 saves are a career high for the 37-year-old, and he's gone a perfect 5-for-5 on save chances in September while posting a 4.15 ERA and 15:5 K:BB through 8.2 innings.

Nelson will be called up from Triple-A Lehigh Valley serve as the bulk reliever behind opener Matt Strahm in Sunday's game against the Mets, Corey Seidman of NBC Sports Philadelphia reports.

Initial reports suggested Nelson would start Sunday's regular-season finale, but he'll instead work as a primary pitcher out of the bullpen, which sets him up better to pick up a win. The right-hander has yet to pitch at the big-league level in 2023 after posting a 4.35 ERA and 1.48 WHIP with a 75:42 K:BB across 97.1 frames with Lehigh Valley.
