Tanner Scott RP | LAD
Marlins' Tanner Scott: Suffers mild calf strain
Scott left Friday's game against the Tigers with a mild right calf strain, Jordan McPherson of the Miami Herald reports.
The southpaw pitched two-thirds of an inning, getting charged with a run on two hits and a walk (JT Chargois allowed the inherited runner to score after Scott exited the game). Miami is downplaying the severity of the injury, but even a mild strain could threaten to push him to the injured list.

Tejay Antone RP | CIN
Reds' Tejay Antone: Moving rehab to Triple-A
Antone (elbow) is expected to pitch for Triple-A Louisville on Tuesday, C. Trent Rosecrans of The Athletic reports.
After one more outing in the Arizona Complex League on Friday, Antone will move up the ladder as he continues to ramp up in preparation for a return to the Reds' bullpen. The right-hander hasn't pitched in the majors in nearly two years. He was showing real promise in relief prior to undergoing Tommy John surgery in August 2021, but given the setbacks and long layoff, he has to be considered a wild card to contribute to Cincinnati's playoff push.

Drey Jameson RP | ARI
Diamondbacks' Drey Jameson: Elects not to have surgery
Jameson (elbow) has elected not to undergo surgery on his UCL strain, Alex Weiner of ArizonaSports.com reports.
It was reported earlier this month that Jameson was seeking a second opinion on his right elbow rather than resign himself to surgery. He apparently found a doctor who agreed that the rest-and-rehab route could prove beneficial. A procedure is often still necessary in these cases, but Jameson will try his best to stave one off.

Reiver Sanmartin RP | SF
Reds' Reiver Sanmartin: Undergoes season-ending surgery
Sanmartin (elbow) underwent season-ending UCL surgery back on July 7, Mark Sheldon of MLB.com reports.
The initial hope was that Sanmartin would be able to return in 2023, but a more serious issue was discovered beyond the initial diagnosis of a stress reaction in his left elbow. It wasn't reported as Tommy John surgery specifically, but this will take Sanmartin out for the remainder of the season and could threaten his availability for spring training in 2024.

Angel Perdomo RP | LAA
Pirates' Angel Perdomo: Suspension reduced
Perdomo's suspension was reduced to two games after a settlement was reached between the MLBPA and MLB, Andrew Destin of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.
Perdomo was initially suspended for three games after intentionally throwing at Manny Machado on Tuesday, but he's now set to make an early return. The 29-year-old lefty has a 3.92 ERA and 0.97 WHIP through 20.2 innings this season and has recorded two holds in 21 appearances.

Tommy Doyle RP | COL
Rockies' Tommy Doyle: Recalled from Albuquerque
The Rockies recalled Doyle from Triple-A Albuquerque on Friday.
Doyle has been quite impressive this season, putting up a 1.93 ERA and 1.07 WHIP through 28 frames in the minors while also throwing four scoreless innings in the big leagues. If Doyle is able to continue at his current rate, he could be in the mix for high-leverage situations down the road. Chase Anderson (shoulder) was placed on the 15-day injured list in a corresponding move.

Michael Rucker RP | SEA
Cubs' Michael Rucker: Optioned to Iowa
The Cubs optioned Rucker to Triple-A Iowa on Friday, Meghan Montemurro of the Chicago Tribune reports.
Rucker has taken a notable step back from his 2022 campaign, accumulating a 5.17 ERA and 1.46 WHIP through 38.1 innings out of the bullpen. He could return to Chicago if he shows signs of improvement in the minors, but for now Hayden Wesneski will come up from Triple-A to take his spot on the staff.

Keaton Winn RP | SF
Giants' Keaton Winn: Battling elbow soreness
Winn is dealing with soreness in his right elbow and will be examined by a specialist Saturday in San Francisco, Danny Emerman of KNBR 680 San Francisco reports.
Winn holds a 4.09 ERA and 1.05 WHIP through 22 major-league innings, though since being optioned to Triple-A Sacramento in early July he's surrendered six runs across 11 frames. Losing Winn would put a dent in the Giants' organizational pitching depth, as he's been able to hold his own as both a starter and reliever for San Francisco.

Andrew Suarez RP | BAL
Cardinals' Andrew Suarez: Optioned to Memphis
The Cardinals optioned Suarez to Triple-A Memphis on Friday.
Suarez allowed three runs over two innings in each of his two appearances for St. Louis, and will now head back to the minors in order to right the ship. Though his 4.08 ERA and 1.48 WHIP in Triple-A aren't too impressive, Suarez could return to the Cards' bullpen later this season if the major-league club needs a fresh arm.
