Foley gave up two hits and didn't walk a batter during a scoreless ninth inning to earn the save in Tuesday's 5-3 win over the Pirates. He did not record a strikeout.

The right-hander allowed multiple hits in an appearance for the first time this season but helped himself by inducing a groundball double play. Foley is racking up the stats early in the season with two wins and three saves through six scoreless appearances, and he appears to be the favored option for the ninth inning.

Angels manager Ron Washington said Tuesday that Stephenson (shoulder) threw a live bullpen session and is close to a rehab assignment, Rhett Bollinger of MLB.com reports.

Stephenson started the season on the 15-day IL after missing all of spring training due to right shoulder soreness. His live BP session is another step in the right direction as the right-hander continues to ramp up his activity. Stephenson appears poised to make his first rehab assignment in the next few days.

The Rays recalled Kelly from Triple-A Durham on Tuesday.

The move corresponds with the Rays placing Tyler Alexander on the bereavement list Tuesday. Kelly appeared in 57 games for the Rays in 2023, posting a 3.09 ERA, 1.01 WHIP and 56:15 K:BB over 67 innings. He's been effective with Triple-A Durham early this minor-league season as well, firing 3.2 scoreless innings with six strikeouts.

Ortega (elbow) was transferred to the 60-day IL on Tuesday, Matt Kawahara of the Houston Chronicle reports.

The Astros placed Ortega on the 15-day injured list at the end of March. The righty found himself facing a recovery timeline of 3-to-4 months after undergoing surgery to remove loose bodies from his right elbow. The 27-year-old is being shifted to the 60-day IL to create a 40-man roster spot for Wander Suero.

Suero was recalled from Triple-A Sugar Land on Tuesday, Matt Kawahara of the Houston Chronicle reports.

The Astros signed Suero to a minor-league contract in December. The right-hander surrendered seven earned runs in just eight innings at the major-league level with the Dodgers in 2023. In a corresponding move, Oliver Ortega (elbow) was transferred to the 60-day IL to create a 40-man roster spot for Suero.

Mushinski was recalled from Triple-A Sugar Land on Tuesday, Matt Kawahara of the Houston Chronicle reports.

Mushinski is back with the Astros just four days after being optioned to Sugar Land. In two games in the majors this season, the left-hander has allowed four runs (two earned) on three hits and one walk while striking out two over 1.1 innings.

Duran (oblique) is aiming to throw a bullpen session Friday, Do-Hyoung Park of MLB.com reports.

Duran has been throwing pain-free on flat ground and it sounds like he's almost ready to try things out from the bump. He's early on in his throwing progression and will need a few rehab appearances before being activated, but a return before the end of April would seem to be possible.

The Twins transferred Weiss (shoulder) to the 60-day injured list Tuesday.

The transaction frees up a spot on the 40-man roster for the addition of Michael Tonkin. Weiss has been out all season and will now be sidelined until at least late May with a right shoulder strain.

Tonkin was acquired by the Twins from the Mets on Tuesday in exchange for cash considerations.

The right-hander was designated for assignment by the Mets on Friday and will now make his way to the Twin Cities. Tonkin made three appearances for New York this season and allowed two earned runs with a 3:1 K:BB over four innings.

Staumont (calf) will begin a rehab assignment with Triple-A St. Paul on Tuesday, Aaron Gleeman of The Athletic reports.

Staumont has been out all season after tweaking his left calf late in spring training, but he's ready to test things out in game action. He made seven appearances this spring before getting hurt, so he shouldn't need too many outings before joining the Twins' bullpen.
