  • Tayler Saucedo RP | LAA

Mariners' Tayler Saucedo: Up from Tacoma

The Mariners recalled Saucedo from Triple-A Tacoma on Saturday.

Saucedo was sent to the minors in early April after allowing four earned runs in just 2.2 innings. Since then, he's given up only one run in 6.1 frames at Tacoma, and he'll now rejoin the Mariners' bullpen to give depth to a pitching staff that is now without Logan Gilbert (elbow).

  • Orioles' Grant Wolfram: Recalled from Norfolk

The Orioles recalled Wolfram from Triple-A Norfolk on Saturday

Wolfram began the season with Milwaukee but never appeared in a game before he was shipped to Baltimore on April 7. Since the trade, he's allowed six earned runs in just 5.2 innings while striking out six batters and walking three. He'll give the Orioles some extra bullpen depth for the second game of their doubleheader against Detroit, though he likely will only be used in low-leverage situations. Brandon Young was optioned to Triple-A in a corresponding move.

  • Keegan Akin RP | BAL

    Orioles' Keegan Akin: Opening nightcap

Akin will start Game 2 of Saturday's doubleheader against the Tigers, Andy Kostka of TheBaltimoreBanner.com reports.

Akin has been fairly reliable out of the bullpen this season, turning in a 3.27 ERA and 1.45 WHIP across 11 innings. He'll now be tasked with opening the second game of a twin bill before turning things over to Charlie Morton, who will pitch in bulk relief.

  • Victor Mederos RP | ATL

Angels' Victor Mederos: Sent to Triple-A

Mederos was optioned to Triple-A Salt Lake on Saturday.

Mederos gave up two runs on two hits and three walks while striking out two in three innings of relief in Friday's game in Minnesota. Jake Eder was recalled to take on the Angels' long-relief duties in the short term.

  • Carl Edwards RP | NYM

Angels' Carl Edwards: Designated for assignment

The Angels designated Edwards for assignment Saturday.

The 33-year-old journeyman had a 9.00 ERA and 1.67 WHIP through two appearances. Edwards will be replaced in the bullpen by promising relief prospect Jose Fermin.

  • Jacob Lopez RP | ATH

Athletics' Jacob Lopez: Back in majors

The Athletics recalled Lopez from Triple-A Las Vegas on Saturday.

Just three days after being sent to Triple-A, Lopez will return to the big club Saturday to replace J.T. Ginn (elbow) on the active roster. The 27-year-old Lopez has punched out five batters and walked three over 4.1 shutout innings in the majors this season and will likely return to a middle-relief role.

  • Colin Selby RP | BAL

Orioles' Colin Selby: Working as 27th man Saturday

The Orioles added Selby to their active roster to serve as the 27th man for Saturday's doubleheader against the Tigers, Roch Kubatko of MASNSports.com reports.

Selby gave up two earned runs in one inning during his lone major-league outing this season, but he's given up just one run in 5.1 frames at Triple-A. He'll give the O's some bullpen depth for Saturday's twin bill but will almost certainly be sent back to Norfolk after the end of the second game.

  • Guardians' Erik Sabrowski: Moves to 60-day IL

The Guardians transferred Sabrowski (elbow) to the 60-day injured list Saturday, Tim Stebbins of MLB.com reports.

Sabrowski has been sidelined since spring training due to left elbow inflammation, and his move to the 60-day IL will ensure he remains out until at least late May. His spot on the 40-man roster will be given to Kolby Allard, who was selected from Triple-A Columbus in a corresponding move.

  • Blue Jays' Mason Fluharty: Collects first big-league win

Fluharty (1-0) picked up his first career win Friday in a victory over the Yankees, giving up one run on one hit and one walk over two-thirds of an inning.

It wasn't a clean outing, but after letting New York take a 2-1 lead in the eighth inning on an Austin Wells sacrifice fly, Fluharty got bailed out in the top of the ninth by a three-run surge from the Toronto offense. The 23-year-old lefty has been mostly effective since making his MLB debut at the beginning of April, posting a 3.12 ERA, 1.04 WHIP and 9:5 K:BB in 8.2 innings.

  • Red Sox's Cooper Criswell: Up as 27th man

The Red Sox added Criswell to the active roster to serve as the 27th man for Saturday's doubleheader against the Guardians.

Since being sent down to Triple-A in early April, Criswell has turned in a 0.82 ERA and 0.91 WHIP across 11 innings alongside a 16:3 K:BB. He'll help the Red Sox's bullpen get through Saturday's twin bill but is likely to head back to Worcester after Game 2 is finished.
