Flores was added to the White Sox's 40-man roster Wednesday, Mark Feinsand of MLB.com reports.

Flores tossed 78.1 innings for Double-A Birmingham last season, recording a 3.33 ERA with a 1.14 WHIP. Although he's shown some promise at the Double-A level over the past two years, he'll still likely need to face some more significant competition before being considered for a major-league role. Wednesday's addition to the 40-man roster shields him from the Rule 5 draft.

Burdi (knee) had his contract selected by the White Sox on Wednesday.

Injuries have limited Burdi to just 29 innings over the last two seasons combined, but he's talented enough that the White Sox elected to protect him from the Rule 5 draft. He didn't exactly showcase that talent while stumbling to a 6.41 ERA over 19.2 innings at Double-A Birmingham, but the team evidently is still holding out hope for his future.

Akin was added to the Orioles' 40-man roster Wednesday.

The 24-year-old advanced to Triple-A Norfolk in 2019 and recorded a 4.73 ERA with a 131:61 K:BB over 112.1 innings. Akin was added to the 40-man roster in order to protect him from the Rule 5 draft. Although it's encouraging to see him advance through the minor-league ranks, Akin will likely have to show more consistency before becoming a viable option in the Orioles' pitching staff.

Paredes' contract was selected by the Astros on Wednesday, Jake Kaplan of The Athletic reports.

Paredes will be protected from the Rule 5 draft despite the fact that he hasn't yet reached Triple-A. In 50 innings for Double-A Corpus Christi last season, he posted a 3.78 ERA and a 34.3 percent strikeout rate.

Lambert (elbow) resumed throwing Monday, Rob Young of FutureSox reports.

Lambert threw for the first time since undergoing Tommy John surgery in late June. Given a typical recovery timeline, he could get back to game action sometime late in the 2020 season.

Honeywell (elbow) will start throwing in January, Juan Toribio of MLB.com reports.

He hasn't pitched in a game for two full seasons, after suffering a setback in his recovery from Tommy John surgery. The Rays remain optimistic that Honeywell will be a part of the long-term pitching staff, but they will be cautious with him in 2020. Honeywell will open the year in the minors or in extended spring training.

Adleman signed a minor-league contract with the Tigers on Thursday.

The 31-year-old recorded a 3.23 ERA with a 1.10 WHIP over 117 minor-league innings last season. Adleman has experience pitching out of the rotation and the bullpen, but will likely only be an emergency option for the Tigers if injuries pile up in their pitching staff.

Ramirez inked a minor-league contract with the Tigers on Thursday.

The 30-year-old was outrighted by the Tigers at the end of October, but he will return to the team at the Triple-A level next season. Given his heavy workload out of the major-league bullpen in 2019, it wouldn't be surprising to see him return to the majors at some point in 2020.

Stewart was outrighted to Triple-A Buffalo on Monday.

With Stewart being sent to the minors, the Blue Jays have cleared a spot on the 40-man roster. He struggled across stops with Los Angeles and Toronto in 2019, accruing a 9.82 ERA with 19 strikeouts over 25.2 frames.

Boshers was outrighted to Triple-A Buffalo by the Blue Jays on Monday.

The Blue Jays have cleared a spot on the 40-man roster by designating Boshers for assignment. He posted a 4.05 ERA and 1.50 WHIP with a 26:10 K:BB over 20 innings last season with Toronto.
