Cimber (2-3) allowed one unearned run on two hits in 0.2 innings of work, taking the loss in Saturday's 2-1 defeat to the Red Sox.

One day after Charlie Montoyo said Cimber could see more save chances, the Blue Jays' manager sent the right-hander out to begin the eighth inning in the final leg of Saturday's double-header. With ghost runner Franchy Cordero lurking behind him, Cimber gave up a base hit to Jonathan Arauz that cashed Cordero and gave Boston a lead they'd never relinquish. This is only the second run that the submariner has allowed in 15 appearances with the Blue Jays this season.

Rodriguez will be recalled from Triple-A Salt Lake to start one of the doubleheader games Tuesday, Sam Blum of The Athletic reports

Rodriguez was optioned to the minors Wednesday after pitching six innings Monday. He has a 3.86 ERA and 1.36 WHIP in 25.2 big-league innings this season.

Feyereisen (biceps) threw a successful bullpen session Saturday, Neil Solondz of the Rays Radio Network reports.

While it's not clear how many pitches Feyereisen threw in Saturday's throwing session, it's encouraging that he didn't encounter any issues in his return to mound work. The Rays' medical staff will monitor how the right-hander's injury responds in the coming days before determining the next step in his recovery.

Brasier (concussion) threw live batting practice Saturday, Alex Speier of The Boston Globe reports.

Brasier has been out for over two months after taking a comebacker to the head. Previous reports indicated he'd throw one more live batting practice session before embarking on a rehab assignment, so news of such a move should be coming soon.

Anderson (elbow) will pitch in a game for the Rays' rookie-league Florida Coast League affiliate Monday, Neil Solondz of the Rays Radio Network reports.

Anderson threw a successful bullpen session Saturday, and the medical staff determined afterward that he's ready to ready to return to game action following a brief delay in his recovery due to COVID-related issues. The right-hander will likely need a few rehab appearances following his pause, but he's on track for a return to the major-league mound in mid-to-late August.

Rogers has elected to not undergo surgery on his left middle finger, Do-Hyoung Park of MLB.com reports.

Rogers is likely still in line for an extended absence despite deciding to rehab with rest and recovery. The team expects to learn more in the coming days about the timeline for his potential return. Alex Colome has been the favorite for save chances in Minnesota with Rogers and Hansel Robles out of the picture.

Raley's suspension for throwing at J.P. Crawford was reduced on appeal from three to two games Saturday, Danielle Lerner of the Houston Chronicle reports.

The incident occured back in late July. Raley will begin serving the ban immediately, so he'll miss both weekend games against the Twins but will be eligible to return at the start of next week.

Mejia was optioned to Triple-A Columbus on Saturday.

Mejia clearly needed a reset, as he's allowed four or more earned runs in each of his last six starts, struggling to a 12.55 ERA and 2.11 WHIP over that stretch and raising his season ERA to 8.75. His spot in the rotation is due up Monday against Cincinnati, so Cleveland will have to call up a starter by then. For now, it's infielder Andres Gimenez who will take his place on the roster.

Snead was recalled from Triple-A Buffalo on Saturday.

Snead made his first two major-league appearances at the end of July and allowed two hits and no walks while striking out three in 1.2 scoreless frames. He'll serve as a low-leverage relief option after left-hander Tim Mayza (elbow) was placed on the 10-day IL.

Thornton was added as the 27th man for Saturday's doubleheader against Boston.

Thornton should be able to give the Blue Jays length out of the bullpen if called upon in either contest, though he's unlikely to pitch in a high-leverage situation. In 39.1 major-league innings this season, he owns an unremarkable 4.58 ERA and 1.40 WHIP.
