Andriese signed a one-year contract with the Mariners on Sunday and was added to the 40-man roster and 26-man active roster ahead of Seattle's series finale in Houston.

Seattle wasn't willing to take on the money remaining on Andriese's one-year, $1.85 million contract after Boston designated him for assignment a few days earlier, but the Mariners brought the veteran reliever aboard on what's presumably a more team-friendly deal once he cleared waivers and became a free agent. He'll be a multi-inning option out of the bullpen for Seattle, but expect manager Scott Servais to limit Andriese's usage to lower-leverage spots initially. Andriese submitted a 6.03 ERA and 1.77 WHIP across 26 relief appearances for Boston this season, but the Mariners are likely hoping that his solid 15.3 K-BB% is a better indicator of his performance moving forward.

Trivino (5-5) took the loss and a blown save Saturday versus San Francisco. He allowed two runs on a hit and a walk while striking out one in one inning.

Trivino yielded a two-run home run to LaMonte Wade in the ninth inning, and the A's weren't able to bounce back in their half of the frame. It's just the third blown save of the year for Trivino, who has locked down 21 saves with six holds in 56 appearances. He's allowed multiple runs in just four outings all year. He has a 1.99 ERA, 1.16 WHIP and 49:28 K:BB through 58.2 innings overall.

Manaea allowed two runs on four hits, three walks and two hit batsmen while striking out three in 4.2 innings versus San Francisco on Saturday. He did not factor in the decision.

Manaea wasn't hit as hard as he's been in his last few starts, but the two hit batters made things more difficult for the southpaw. He's endured a horrid August, allowing 17 runs across 15.2 innings his last four starts. The skid has inflated his ERA to 3.77 with a 1.24 WHIP and 151:36 K:BB across 138.1 innings overall. He'll attempt to right the ship against a surging Yankees team during next weekend's four-game series.

Diekman secured holds in back-to-back games Friday and Saturday against the Giants, firing a total of 2.1 innings during which he allowed two hits and recorded two strikeouts.

Diekman turned in a scoreless 1.1-inning effort in Friday night's win for his 10th hold, with the veteran lefty entering the game immediately behind starter James Kaprielian. Despite throwing 20 pitches in that outing, manager Bob Melvin summoned Diekman again in Saturday's one-run loss, an appearance in which the southpaw was able to preserve a 5-4 lead despite having to work around two baserunners. Diekman is now up to 11 holds on the campaign as a result of his efforts the past two days, and he's posted a 1-1 record, 2.38 ERA, 0.97 WHIP and 12.7 K/9 across 11.1 post-All-Star-break innings.

McHugh picked up the save Saturday against the White Sox, striking out one over 1.2 innings without allowing a baserunner.

In classic Rays fashion, McHugh's two appearances this week include one start and one save. He retired all six batters he faced as the opener Monday against the Orioles and retired all five he faced Saturday. He was called on to protect a three-run lead with one out in the top of the eighth, and while he did allow a run to score on a groundout, he was able to kill the White Sox's rally and remained in the game to seal the deal after the Rays stretched the lead to four in the bottom of the frame. The save was the veteran's first of his nine-year career, and while he has an excellent 1.30 ERA on the season, the Rays' creative pitcher usage means he's likely to continue serving mainly in a multi-inning role rather than in the ninth inning exclusively.

Patino (3-3) earned the win Saturday against the White Sox, allowing two runs on five hits in six innings, striking out five while walking one.

The innings total tied a career high for the 21-year-old, who's flashed potential in his 12 outings this season despite a modest 4.53 ERA. He gave up a solo homer to Seby Zavala in the third and allowed another run on an RBI single by Eloy Jimenez in the sixth, but he didn't have to work out of too many jams throughout the game and came away with his second career quality start. He'll likely return to the mound during next weekend's three-game series in Baltimore.

Romano gave up one hit and struck out three batters in a scoreless ninth inning Saturday to record his 11th save of the season in a 3-0 win over the Tigers.

The flamethrowing right-hander gave up a single to Derek Hill on the first pitch he threw, then overpowered the heart of the Detroit order to close things out. Romano has had some ups and downs this year but hasn't actually blown a save since April 8, and he sports a 2.44 ERA and 60:20 K:BB through 44.1 innings.

Barlow tossed a perfect ninth inning Friday to record his eighth save of the season in a 4-2 win over the Cubs. He didn't walk or strike out a batter.

The right-hander needed only eight pitches (six strikes) to breeze through the top of the Cubs' order. Barlow has converted two straight save chances after blowing his prior two opportunities, and he remains the top closing option in the Royals' bullpen with a 2.55 ERA and 74:22 K:BB through 60 innings.

Jax and the Twins won't play Sunday against the Yankees after the game was postponed due to inclement weather.

Hurricane Henri is forecasted to hit the East Coast on Sunday, so the teams will be unable to play their series finale. The Twins haven't revealed their revised rotation plans, but it wouldn't be surprising to see Jax start on the road against the Red Sox on Tuesday.

Farmer signed a minor-league contract with the Rangers on Saturday.

Farmer was released by the Tigers on Tuesday after he was designated for assignment last weekend, and he'll now try to make an impression at Triple-A Round Rock. The right-hander made 36 relief appearances with Detroit this year and generated a 6.37 ERA and 1.73 WHIP in 35.1 innings.
