Farmer signed a minor-league contract with the Rangers on Saturday.

Farmer was released by the Tigers on Tuesday after he was designated for assignment last weekend, and he'll now try to make an impression at Triple-A Round Rock. The right-hander made 36 relief appearances with Detroit this year and generated a 6.37 ERA and 1.73 WHIP in 35.1 innings.

Lopez will move to a bullpen role going forward, Nathan Ruiz of The Baltimore Sun reports.

Although Lopez had a strong start to August, he struggled in his last two outings and allowed 11 runs across 5.1 innings during back-to-back losses. While manager Brandon Hyde didn't reveal who would take the right-hander's place in the starting rotation, the Orioles are hopeful that Lopez will perform better out of the bullpen.

Canterino was placed on the 7-day minor-league injured list with a right elbow strain Saturday, Brandon Warne of Access Twins reports.

Canterino had been sidelined since May due to a right elbow strain, but he returned to action Sunday and allowed no hits and a walk while striking out eight in three innings at High-A Cedar Rapids. Unfortunately, it now appears he hasn't moved past the injury and will be forced to miss more time. It's not yet clear whether the right-hander is facing another lengthy absence.

Tate has not allowed a run in his last 4.2 innings.

The right-hander had a miserable stretch early in August in which he allowed six runs in just 1.2 innings, but he's corrected course since then. Tate has allowed just one hit and struck out two during his current scoreless streak. He has a 4.38 ERA, 1.21 WHIP and 43:19 K:BB across 51.1 innings overall, as well as two saves and five holds.

Stephan (2-0) allowed just one hit and struck out two over three scoreless innings to earn the win Friday over the Angels.

Starter Sam Hentges only lasted four innings, so Stephan earned the win in a lopsided 9-1 contest. Through six appearances in August, Stephan has yielded four runs on seven hits and seven walks with seven strikeouts across 10.1 innings. The right-hander has endured an inconsistent season with a 4.57 ERA, 1.52 WHIP and 49:25 K:BB in 45.1 innings, serving mainly as a multi-inning reliever.

Trivino recorded the save Friday against the Giants after tossing a scoreless ninth inning, giving up one hit.

Trivino allowed a two-out single to Alex Dickerson, but he closed things out on a groundout from Wilmer Flores while needing just 10 pitches (eight strikes) to get the job done. He now has 21 saves on the season and extended his streak of scoreless appearances to 10 games, a span in which he has recorded five saves as well.

Hendriks (8-3) struck out one over a perfect 10th inning to earn the win over the Rays in 11 innings on Friday.

Hendriks was prepping for a save opportunity before Tampa Bay plated three in the bottom of the eighth inning, changing manager Tony La Russa's deployment of relievers. After Chicago tied the game in the top of the ninth, Garrett Crochet got the game into extra frames where Hendriks and Ryan Tepera took over. For Hendriks, it was a third straight scoreless and hitless outing following a two-game hiccup against the Yankees last week.

Hentges didn't factor into the decision in Friday's 9-1 win over the Angels, allowing one run on three hits and a walk over four innings. He struck out two.

Cleveland's offense staked Hentges to a 5-0 lead through two innings, but the southpaw didn't have a long enough leash to qualify for a win as he got the hook after 61 pitches (41 strikes). It was still his longest outing since July 7, and he's been effective enough in his latest stint with the big club to retain a rotation spot, posting a 4.50 ERA and 7:3 K:BB through 10 innings over five appearances in August.

Barria (2-2) took the loss Friday, coughing up five runs on six hits over only two innings in a 9-1 loss to Cleveland. He struck out three without walking a batter.

After reeling off three straight quality starts once being added to the rotation in late July, Barria has fallen apart and managed only five total innings in his last two outings. The stumbles have inflated his ERA back up to 5.87, but the 25-year-old's rotation spot could still be fairly secure until an injured alternative like Alex Cobb (wrist) or Patrick Sandoval (back) is ready to return.

Richards (5-2) took the loss Friday versus Detroit. He allowed three runs (two earned) on a hit and a walk with two strikeouts in two-thirds of an inning.

Richards got the ball for the top of the 10th inning, but he allowed the go-ahead run to score before Adam Cimber allowed two inherited runners to cross the dish. The 28-year-old Richards has allowed five runs (four earned) in two innings across his last three appearances, enduring a bit of a rough patch. For the year, he owns a 3.75 ERA, 1.06 WHIP and 64:18 K:BB through 48 innings for three teams.
