Robertson was recalled from Triple-A Durham on Wednesday, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Robertson signed a minor-league deal with the Rays on Aug. 16, and he struck out 12 in six scoreless innings across six relief appearances at Triple-A Durham. The right-hander will now be available to make his first major-league appearance since 2019 after he worked his way back from Tommy John surgery. While Robertson will likely serve as a low-leverage reliever early on, he could be in consideration for some high-leverage chances if he continues to perform well.

The Royals recalled Kowar from Triple-A Omaha ahead of his scheduled start Wednesday against Cleveland.

The addition of Kowar will give the other Kansas City starters some extra rest between outings, but the 24-year-old right-hander won't necessarily become a fixture in the rotation in September. He faltered badly in a three-outing stint with the big club back in June (18.00 ERA, 3.20 WHIP in five innings), and he wasn't overly impressive upon returning to Triple-A, submitting a 5.14 ERA and 1.47 WHIP in 49 innings. Kowar at least appeared to turn a corner in his most recent two Triple-A starts, working 11 innings between those outings while giving up two earned runs and posting a 16:2 K:BB.

Paredes was recalled from Triple-A Sugar Land on Wednesday, Chandler Rome of the Houston Chronicle reports.

Paredes was sent to the minors after he was reinstated from the injured list in early July, and he recorded a 3.24 ERA and 1.86 WHIP in 16.2 innings across 15 relief appearances with the Triple-A club since then. He'll provide an extra arm in Houston's bullpen as part of Wednesday's roster expansion.

Edwards signed a minor-league contract with the White Sox on Monday. He was assigned to Triple-A Charlotte.

Edwards will fill the spot in the Charlotte bullpen that opened up when Matt Foster was promoted to the White Sox on Wednesday. Before inking the minor-league deal with Chicago, Edwards appeared in seven games at the MLB level between Atlanta and Toronto, working 5.2 innings while giving up seven earned runs on 11 hits and three walks.

The White Sox recalled Foster from Triple-A Charlotte on Wednesday.

With Reynaldo Lopez expected to move into the rotation following Lance Lynn's (knee) placement on the injured list Tuesday, Foster will help restore some depth in the bullpen. Foster has found limited success over his 31 appearances with the big club this season, churning out a 5.67 ERA and 1.41 WHIP in 33.1 innings.

Lopez allowed a run on three hits and a walk in 1.2 innings, earning a hold in Tuesday's 4-2 win over Toronto.

It was his first run allowed in 5.2 innings since Lopez moved from the rotation to the bullpen. He's struck out six and walked two in that span. For now, the right-hander seems destined to fill a fairly low-leverage role as a multi-inning relief option for manager Brandon Hyde. Lopez owns a 6.13 ERA, 1.66 WHIP and 108:56 K:BB through 119 innings overall, with 25 of his 29 appearances coming as a starter.

The Rangers recalled Yang from Triple-A Round Rock ahead of Wednesday's game against the Rockies.

Yang will be an option to fill innings out of the bullpen behind Wednesday's starter, Kohei Arihara (shoulder), who is expected to be capped at 2-to-4 innings in his return from the 60-day injured list. Even with three other starting pitchers (Dane Dunning, Mike Foltynewicz and Spencer Howard) still residing on the COVID-19 injured list, Texas still has enough younger rotation options on hand to fill the openings, so Yang is expected to stick in a relief role throughout September.

Kittredge struck out two and did not issue a hit or a walk over two-thirds of an inning as he picked up the save in an 8-5 win over the Red Sox on Tuesday.

Kittredge wasn't needed immediately heading into the ninth with the Rays comfortably leading 8-3, but things changed quickly after Dietrich Enns allowed four straight hitters to reach and two to score before with one out. Kittredge was called upon to prevent any further damage and fanned the only two batters he faced. The Rays haven't gone with a set closer all year long, but Kittredge has been excellent with a 1.31 ERA, 0.89 WHIP and 69:14 K:BB over 62 innings and figures to continue in the mix for high-leverage opportunities.

Yarbrough (8-4) allowed two runs on five hits and no walks while striking out three over six innings to record the win over the Red Sox on Tuesday.

Yarbrough didn't start off too well after allowing a first-inning run, but he would settle in thereafter and hold the Red Sox scoreless until Kyle Schwarber took him deep in the sixth for a solo home run. Tuesday's performance was a major relief for the southpaw, as he'd previously struggled mightily against the division rivals this season while allowing 16 earned runs on 18 hits over 12 innings. Tuesday marked the third time in his last four starts Yarbrough managed to not issue a walk, and it's just the second time since the beginning of July he's managed to pitch at least six innings. The 29-year-old now owns a 4.50 ERA, 1.17 WHIP and 104:23 K:BB over 134 innings and tentatively lines up for a rematch with Boston on Monday.

Sulser struck out one in a perfect ninth inning Tuesday to record his sixth save of the season in a 4-2 win over the Blue Jays.

The 31-year-old remains the top closing option in the O's bullpen by default, but Tuesday's save was Sulser's only one in August. On the season, he sports a 3.12 ERA, 1.20 WHIP and 63:21 K:BB through 49 innings.
