Valdez's contract was selected from Triple-A Norfolk on Tuesday.

Valdez was outrighted to Norfolk in late August, and he posted a 1.42 ERA and 1.03 WHIP in 12.2 innings across nine relief appearances in the minors since then. The right-hander has eight saves in the majors this year, but he recorded a 6.65 ERA and 1.75 WHIP in 21.2 innings across his last 15 appearances prior to being sent to Norfolk, so he'll likely pitch mainly in low-leverage situations late in the season.

Brasier was recalled from Triple-A Worcester on Tuesday, Chris Cotillo of The Springfield Republican reports.

Brasier was sent back to Worcester on Friday, but now he'll rejoin the big club with Garrett Whitlock (pectoral) being placed on the 10-day IL. The right-hander made his season debut in early September after several injuries sidelined him for the first five months of the campaign. He'll resume his big-league season with a 4.15 ERA and 2.54 WHIP through 4.1 innings.

Munoz (elbow) is scheduled to make the second appearance of his rehab assignment at Triple-A Tacoma on Tuesday, Tacoma radio broadcaster Mike Curto reports.

The Mariners aren't expected to bring Munoz back from the 60-day injured list during the final two weeks of the season, but the right-hander looks well on his way to entering spring training in 2022 without any restrictions. Following an 18-month recovery from Tommy John surgery, Munoz made his first appearance in affiliated ball since 2019 on Friday, when he struck out the side while pitching for the Mariners' rookie-level Arizona Complex League affiliate. The dominant showing was enough for the Mariners to move him up to Triple-A, where he'll presumably make a handful of appearances before season's end.

Wantz allowed four runs on four hits over one inning against the Astros on Monday.

The Angels were down by a manageable two runs when Wantz entered the contest in the eighth inning, but Houston rocked him for four runs to essentially put the game away. The biggest hit against the right-hander was a three-run homer off the bat of Martin Maldonado. Wantz has served up a long ball in two of his past three appearances and has surrendered seven earned runs across four innings over that stretch. The rookie's ERA is an unsightly 6.23 through 18 outings.

Rodriguez earned a hold against the Rangers on Monday by retiring one batter (via strikeout) after allowing one hit.

The southpaw was summoned in the eighth inning with a runner at first base and two outs. He allowed an infield single to Nathaniel Lowe but struck out Nick Solak to end the threat. Rodriguez has 14 holds on the campaign, with four coming as a member of the Yankees. He has been a solid addition to New York's bullpen since coming over from Texas in late July, posting a 2.30 ERA, 1.21 WHIP and 15:5 K:BB across 15.2 innings.

Barreda was designated for assignment by the Orioles on Tuesday.

Barreda made three appearances with Baltimore earlier in September, but he was sent back down to Triple-A Norfolk after allowing a pair of runs in both of his final two outings. With Baltimore claiming right-hander Joey Krehbiel off waivers from Tampa Bay, Barreda now finds himself without a spot on the 40-man roster. He could potentially latch on with another organization through a waiver claim, but given that he holds a mediocre 3.99 ERA and 1.47 WHIP across 38.1 Triple-A innings, it wouldn't be at all surprising if he winds up accepting an outright assignment to Norfolk.

Green (8-7) earned the win over Texas on Monday, allowing no baserunners over 1.2 scoreless innings, during which he struck out one.

Green relieved starter Nestor Cortes in the fifth frame and allowed an inherited runner to score on a sacrifice fly but didn't permit any baserunners. He pitched a 1-2-3 sixth and was credited with the win as New York held on for a 4-3 victory. Green has worked exclusively out of the bullpen this year, but his eight victories are tied for third-most on the team. He had allowed at least one run in each of his previous four appearances before Monday, yet he has been effective overall with a 3.39 ERA, 0.88 WHIP, 18 holds, six saves and a 10.5 K/9 across 77 innings.

Chargois secured his 14th hold in a win over the Blue Jays on Monday, firing a scoreless two-thirds of an inning during which he allowed a hit and a walk while also recording a strikeout.

Chargois labored some, throwing 22 pitches and getting only 11 into the strike zone while working around a pair of baserunners. However, the right-hander was able to ultimately furnish his fourth scoreless effort in the last five appearances and now boasts an impressive 2.49 ERA and 1.05 WHIP across 50.2 innings with the Mariners and Rays this season.

McHugh secured his fifth hold in a win over the Blue Jays on Monday, firing two perfect innings during which he recorded two strikeouts.

McHugh's late-career transformation to dominant long reliever has been quite the positive development for the Rays bullpen, with the right-hander coaxing his ERA and WHIP down to 1.34 and 0.89, respectively, following his third scoreless multi-inning effort over the last four appearances. The timing and circumstances surrounding McHugh's deployment within games hasn't afforded the veteran many hold opportunities, but he's helped make up for that with six wins and a stellar 31.2 percent strikeout rate.

Krehbiel was claimed off waivers by the Orioles from the Rays on Tuesday.

Krehbiel was demoted to Triple-A Durham and later DFA'd after tossing a scoreless inning in his first major-league appearance since 2018 last Saturday against the Tigers. It remains to be seen where he's assigned within the Baltimore organization, but should the club make room for him on the 28-man roster, he could receive multiple opportunities during the final 12 games of the season. Manny Barreda was DFA'd to make room for the right-hander on the 40-man roster.
