Kittredge (neck) threw from 60 feet off flat ground Wednesday, the Associated Press reports.

The veteran reliever is hoping to spend a minimal amount of time on the injured list with the neck tightness that landed him there, and Wednesday's activity level was encouraging in that regard. Kittredge is eligible to return as early as Monday, and if he's able to continue upping his activity level without setbacks over the next few days, he could have a good chance of a minimum stay on the shelf.

Foster was returned to Triple-A Charlotte after Thursday's doubleheader against Cleveland.

Foster was up as the 29th man for the doubleheader, so this move was procedural. He threw 1.1 innings Thursday, surrendering two earned runs on a walk and two hits. For the season, Foster has a 6.32 ERA with a 40:13 K:BB across 37 innings with the White Sox.

Marte was optioned to Triple-A Salt Lake after Wednesday's game.

Marte made his major-league debut with the Angels on Aug. 20, but he was placed on the COVID-19 injured list just two days later. He was activated Sept. 17 and made three appearances since, allowing four earned runs -- all of which came in one outing -- across two innings of work.

Yarbrough will pitch behind opener David Robertson in Friday's series opener against the Marlins, Neil Solondz of the Rays Radio Network reports.

Yarbrough has struggled in his last three appearances with a 15.68 ERA and 2.52 WHIP in 10.1 innings during that time, and he'll be utilized as a primary pitcher against Miami. The southpaw was able to get out of trouble early in his last start, so he'll attempt to replicate his early success behind an opener Friday.

Robertson will serve as an opener in Friday's game against the Marlins, Neil Solondz of the Rays Radio Network reports.

Robertson tossed a scoreless relief inning against the Blue Jays on Wednesday, and he'll begin Friday's series opener on the mound for the Rays. Left-hander Ryan Yarbrough is expected to serve as the primary pitcher.

Borucki is appealing a three-game suspension for intentionally hitting Kevin Kiermaier with a pitch Wednesday, Ben Nicholson-Smith of Sportsnet.ca reports.

Borucki will be available out of the Blue Jays' bullpen while his appeal is heard. The southpaw has made three relief appearances since he was recalled in mid-September, and he's posted a 2.70 ERA and 1.20 WHIP in 3.1 innings during that time.
