  • Tayler Saucedo RP | LAA

Blue Jays' Tayler Saucedo: Optioned to Triple-A

Saucedo was optioned to Triple-A Buffalo on Thursday.

Saucedo was recalled by Toronto on Sunday, and he allowed three runs (two earned) in 2.1 innings across two relief appearances during his stint with the major-league club. He'll head back to the minors in order to make room for right-hander Thomas Hatch in the big-league bullpen.

  • Thomas Hatch RP | ARI

Blue Jays' Thomas Hatch: Recalled from Triple-A

Hatch was recalled from Triple-A Buffalo on Thursday.

The 26-year-old will join the Blue Jays for their series opener against the Twins. In two major-league outings this year, he has allowed four runs in 7.2 innings. Jake Lamb was designated for assignment Thursday in a corresponding move.

  • Ryne Stanek RP | STL

Astros' Ryne Stanek: Reinstated from paternity list

Stanek was reinstated from the paternity list Thursday, Chandler Rome of the Houston Chronicle reports.

Stanek was away from the team for three days, but he'll be available out of the bullpen in Thursday's series finale against the Angels. Right-hander Josh James was optioned to Triple-A Sugar Land to make room on the active roster.

  • Reynaldo Lopez RP | ATL

White Sox's Reynaldo Lopez: Lifted after 3.1 frames

Lopez allowed two runs on four hits and no walks while striking out four across 3.1 innings during the front end of Thursday's twin bill against Cleveland. He did not factor into the decision.

It was yet another rough outing for Lopez, who managed to quiet Cleveland's bats over the first two frames. However, he eventually was hurt by the long ball, surrendering a solo homer to Bobby Bradley in third and solo shot to Austin Hedges in the fourth. That would be the end of the 65-pitch day for the right-hander, whose offense went on a power surge to secure the team's victory. Lopez is expected to remain in the rotation for another turn, which tentatively lines up at home next week against the Reds.

  • Brock Burke RP | CIN

Rangers' Brock Burke: Lands on 7-day IL

Burke was placed on the 7-day minor-league injured list with a blister on his left hand Thursday, retroactive to Sept. 22, Levi Weaver of The Athletic reports.

Burke allowed no hits and a walk while striking out three in four scoreless innings during his last appearance at Triple-A Round Rock, but he apparently developed a blister that will force him to miss his next turn through the rotation. Whether he's cleared to return prior to the end of the regular season remains to be seen.

  • Geoff Hartlieb RP | ATH

Red Sox's Geoff Hartlieb: Designated for assignment

Hartlieb was designated for assignment by the Red Sox on Thursday.

Hartlieb was claimed off waivers by Boston in early September, and he tossed two scoreless innings across two relief appearances at Triple-A Worcester. However, he'll now be cast off the 40-man roster with Jarren Duran and Jonathan Arauz being reinstated from the COVID-19 injured list Thursday.

  • Manny Barreda RP | BAL

    Orioles' Manny Barreda: Clears waivers

Barreda cleared waivers and was outrighted to Triple-A Norfolk on Thursday, Roch Kubatko of MASNSports.com reports.

As a 32-year-old with just three career MLB appearances under his belt, all of which came this year, it's unsurprising that Barreda passed through waivers unclaimed. He'll remain in an organizational depth role at Norfolk for the Orioles.

  • Sam Moll RP | CIN

Athletics' Sam Moll: Placed on paternity list

Moll was placed on the paternity list Thursday, Matt Kawahara of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

Moll made a pair of relief appearances early this week and struck out three in three scoreless innings. He'll be away from the team for up to three games following the birth of his child.

  • Matt Foster RP | CHW

White Sox's Matt Foster: Up as extra man

Foster was called up to serve as the 29th man for Thursday's doubleheader against Cleveland, Vinnie Duber of NBC Sports Chicago reports.

Foster gives the team an additional bullpen option. He hasn't been good in 35.2 major-league innings this season, struggling to a 6.06 ERA, so he'll likely be limited to lower-leverage situations.

  • Alex Colome RP | CHW

Twins' Alex Colome: Rough outing, earns save

Colome allowed two earned runs on three hits and one walk while striking out two in the ninth inning to earn the save Wednesday against the Cubs.

Colome entered the game with a three-run lead, but he quickly ran into trouble by allowing three of the first four batters he faced to reach base. He settled down in time to record with the final out with the tying run at third base and go-ahead run at second. Despite the rocky outing, Colome has pitched well of late, as he's allowed only three earned runs across 10.1 frames in September. He now has 15 saves on the season while maintaining a 3.98 ERA with a 55:23 K:BB acoss 61 innings.
