Blue Jays manager Charlie Montoyo said Borucki (hamstring) completed a 30-pitch simulated game Tuesday, Arden Zwelling of Sportsnet.ca reports.

Borucki checked out fine after facing hitters, but the Blue Jays may want him to throw one more bullpen session before either sending him out on a brief minor-league rehab assignment or reinstating him from the 10-day injured list. The southpaw reliever wasn't able to make the Blue Jays' Opening Day roster after strained his right hamstring in his final Grapefruit League appearance April 1.

The Twins recalled Jax from Triple-A St. Paul on Tuesday.

Jax had been preparing for a starting role for St. Paul after he was optioned to the affiliate Thursday, but his turn in the rotation never came up before he was called back up to Minnesota. He's expected to serve as a multi-inning option out of the bullpen while he's up with the Twins.

The Twins placed Alcala on the 10-day injured list Tuesday with right elbow inflammation.

Alcala showed a significant drop in his velocity in his most recent relief appearance Sunday against the Mariners, so the move to the IL doesn't come as a major shock. Minnesota recalled Griffin Jax from Triple-A St. Paul in a corresponding move to provide some added depth in the bullpen while Alcala is sidelined.

Puk allowed an earned run on two hits over two innings in a win over the Rays on Monday. He struck out three.

The left-hander had logged a scoreless inning Saturday against the Phillies in his season debut, and although he yielded an RBI single to Ji-Man Choi in the eighth inning Monday, he was solid overall during his 37-pitch outing. Following a difficult 12-appearance stint in 2021 and a similarly rough Cactus League experience this spring, Puk has encouragingly fashioned a 3.00 ERA and 5:1 K:BB across three frames in his first pair of regular-season outings.

Munoz fired a perfect eighth inning in a loss to the Twins on Monday, striking out the side on 13 pitches.

The dominant outing offered a glimpse of what the rocket-armed Munoz is capable of in terms of missing bats. The right-hander now has five strikeouts across two innings over his first two appearances, and given his impressive arsenal, he seemingly could work himself into some closing opportunities over the course of the season.

Misiewicz allowed an earned run on three hits over two-thirds of an inning in a loss to the Twins on Monday.

The left-hander inherited a two-on, one-out scenario from starter Chris Flexen and promptly conceded three consecutive RBI singles before inducing an inning-ending double play from Max Kepler. Misiewicz had pitched a clean frame in his season debut Saturday, and despite Monday's hiccup, he's projected for a high-volume workload that should yield a fair share of hold opportunities during the course of the season.

Fleming is expected to enter the Rays' rotation for Thursday's game against the Athletics and will likely work behind an opening pitcher, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

With Luis Patino (oblique) exiting early in Monday's 13-2 loss to Oakland and becoming the third member of the Rays' projected Opening Day rotation to hit the injured list, Fleming will be needed for at least one "spot start," even if he may not technically start Thursday's game. The southpaw wasn't available Monday after making an extended relief appearance in his season debut Saturday, when he struck out five Orioles over 3.1 scoreless frames. Fleming tossed 38 pitches in that outing, so the Rays could feel comfortable with extending his workload to around 50-to-60 pitches when he toes the rubber again Thursday. Breaking Fleming into the pitching schedule for the series finale with the Athletics will allow the Rays to grant Drew Rasmussen and Corey Kluber an extra day of rest between starts.

The Rays placed Patino (oblique) on the 10-day injured list Tuesday.

After entering Monday as the majors' lone unbeaten team, the Rays were dealt a reality check in a 13-2 loss to the Athletics in the home opener. In addition to the blowout loss, the Rays lost Patino just 13 pitches into his first start of the season due to the oblique strain. He'll now go on the shelf for at least the next week and a half, though the volatile timelines often associated with oblique injuries means that fantasy managers should bank on him missing more than the minimum amount of time. After Chris Mazza struggled mightily in a mop-up role behind Patino in Monday's game, the Rays plan to turn to Josh Fleming as a replacement in the rotation for Patino beginning with Thursday's series finale versus the Athletics, according to Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times.

The Rays placed Chargois on the 10-day injured list Tuesday with left oblique tightness.

Chargois picked up the injury coming out of his first relief outing of the season Friday, when he retired both of the batters he faced in a win over the Orioles. The Rays will be able to backdate his placement on the IL to Saturday, making Chargois eligible for reinstatement as soon as April 19. The fact that his injury is described as oblique tightness rather than a strain bodes well for his chances of avoiding an extended absence.

White Sox manager Tony LaRussa said Lambert will take Lucas Giolito's (abdomen) spot in the rotation beginning with Thursday's game against the Mariners, Scott Merkin of MLB.com reports.

Lambert is the next man up to take a temporary rotation spot while Giolito spends time on the injured list, but the White Sox anticipate that the latter will miss only a start or two. Since he covered just three innings in his season debut for Triple-A Charlotte on April 7 prior to being called up Tuesday, Lambert isn't fully built up for a starter's workload and is likely to have a limited pitch count in Thursday's outing.
