Lambert was recalled from Triple-A Charlotte on Tuesday.

With both Lucas Giolito (abdomen) and AJ Pollock (hamstring) being placed on the 10-day injured list Tuesday, Lambert was called up from Charlotte to fill a roster spot. The 27-year-old has had short stints in MLB in the past couple seasons, starting three games and appearing in six total contests between the 2020 and 2021 campaigns. Overall, he has produced a 5.40 ERA and 1.60 WHIP while walking six and striking out 12 batters over 15 innings. With Giolito on the shelf, Lambert could be asked to make a spot start or two while with the big-league club for the time being.

Chafin (groin) didn't feel completely comfortable throwing his bullpen session Monday, leaving him without a set rehab outing date, Chris McCosky of The Detroit News reports.

Chafin was brought in this summer to operate as a significant piece of the Tigers' bullpen, but he's been hindered by this groin issue to open the season, leaving the team thin with options late in games. It seems as if his season debut will likely come in late April, potentially even early May.

Hearn didn't factor into the decision Monday against the Rockies after tossing four innings of one-run ball, allowing eight hits and a walk while fanning six.

The 27-year-old southpaw gave up plenty of contact despite tossing 54 of his 76 pitches for strikes, but at least he found a way to limit the damage. Hearn, who didn't see action in the Rangers' opening series against the Blue Jays last week, is projected to have a two-start week since he's scheduled to make his second start April 17 against the Angels in Arlington.

Romano gave up two hits and struck out one in a scoreless ninth inning Monday to collect his third save of the season in a 3-0 win over the Yankees.

That's three wins for the Blue Jays and three saves for Romano, as the right-hander looks set to join the ranks of elite closers this season. Monday's two hits were the first baserunners he's allowed in his three innings so far to go along with a 0.00 ERA and 3:0 K:BB.

Brasier allowed one run on two hits over one-third of an inning in Monday's 3-1 loss to the Tigers.

Brasier didn't get tagged with the loss -- that went to Austin Davis -- but he gave up the game-deciding, two-run home run to Javier Baez. The Red Sox have had nothing but tight games thus far, and Brasier has worked three high-leverage situations, all in which he inherited runners. The Baez homer was the first run that's been charged to him, but the reliever has allowed three of six inherited runners to cross the plate. While the Red Sox work without a closer, Brasier is seen as a key piece that could pick up saves.

Brentz (0-1) allowed two runs on a hit and a walk with one strikeout in two-thirds of an inning, taking the loss Monday versus the Guardians.

Brentz was responsible for both runs the Guardians scored in the seventh inning to break a 4-4 tie, though Josh Staumont allowed an inherited runner to score. Brentz has issued three walks in 1.2 innings to open the season after a dominant spring, so it's a bit discouraging to see him having some trouble with command. The southpaw logged 15 holds and a pair of saves in 72 outings last season, so he should continue to see high-leverage work unless he gets stuck in a significant slump.

Baumann (1-0) allowed a hit and a walk while striking out three in 2.1 innings to earn the win Monday versus the Brewers.

Baumann's outing followed four scoreless innings from starter Bruce Zimmermann. This was an expected relief appearance for Baumann, who has worked as a starter for many of his minor-league appearances. The right-hander could be in the mix for a starting role, as Dean Kremer (oblique) is expected to miss 3-to-4 weeks. Alexander Wells and Spenser Watkins are also candidates to join the rotation, though it's unlikely any of them stretched out enough to be in line for wins should they take on a starting role. Baumann threw 37 pitches (20 strikes) in his appearance Monday.

Hernandez allowed four runs on six hits and two walks over 4.1 innings in Monday's loss to Cleveland. He struck out one and did not factor in the decision.

The Guardians jumped on Hernandez early, plating two runs in the first inning. After two scoreless innings, the 25-year-old then coughed up a two-run shot to Oscar Mercado in the fourth. Hernandez posted an ugly 14.73 ERA through 7.1 frames during spring training, so this is a concerning start to the year for the young righty. He's projected to face the Tigers at home this weekend.

Barnes allowed one hit and struck out one over a scoreless sixth inning in Monday's 3-1 loss to Detroit.

Barnes made his season debut after missing the opening series against the Yankees with tightness in his back. He worked around a Miguel Cabrera double and punctuated the outing with an inning-ending strike out of Jonathan Schoop. The right-hander's fastball, which lived in the 92-93 mph range during spring training, maxed out at 95.3 and averaged 94 mph.

Clase coughed up a two-run homer in a non-save situation during Monday's win over the Royals. He walked one batter and struck out another.

Clase entered a 10-5 game and struggled initially. He walked Bobby Witt and then gave up a two-run shot to Andrew Benintendi before retiring the next three batters. Clase has yet to see a save opportunity but he's allowed three hits and three runs (two earned) through two appearances this season.
