Yarbrough (0-7) took the loss Tuesday in Milwaukee, allowing three runs on four hits, two hit batsmen and a walk while striking out five in 3.1 innings.

Yarbrough served in the bulk-reliever role and entered the game in the second inning after Jimmy Yacabonis opened the game. In addition to his two hit batsman, the left-hander threw two wild pitches and seven of the 16 batters he faced reached base safely. It has been an inconsistent year for the 30-year-old and, while his 5.08 ERA, 1.36 WHIP and 40:15 K:BB in 56.2 innings leave something to be desired, the Rays continue to give him opportunities to eat innings. He's likely to pitch again early next week against the Yankees.

Clase retired the only batter he faced on the way to a save in Tuesday's 5-2 win over the Tigers.

Clase was called upon with two outs in the bottom of the ninth inning after the Tigers scored a run and loaded the bases. He tossed a wild pitch, allowing another run to score, but the right-hander was able to limit the damage to one run and get Akil Baddoo to ground out to end the game. The save was his 25th of the season and Clase has now converted 19 straight save chances.

Vest allowed three runs on three hits and a walk across an inning of relief in Tuesday's 5-2 loss to the Guardians.

Starter Tyler Alexander was tagged with a tough-luck loss, as he left the game after seven innings with the Tigers trailing 2-0 against Cleveland ace Shane Bieber, but Vest quickly made matters worse in the eighth inning. The three earned runs are the most allowed in an appearance by the righty since he got tagged for five runs back on June 26. Vest has still been mostly good for the Tigers with a 3.77 ERA and 43 strikeouts across 43 innings this season, though he's working in middle relief, which limits his fantasy appeal.

Alexander (2-6) allowed just two runs on seven hits across seven innings but took the loss Tuesday against the Guardians. He had no walks and struck out two.

Alexander pitched well, but his teammates offered no run support against Cleveland ace Shane Bieber. Over three starts since rejoining the rotation in late July, Alexander has a strong 3.38 ERA, but the lefty has an 0-3 record to show for it. The Detroit offense limits the upside of any starter because wins are hard to come by, though Alexander may at least be able to help with ratios if he keeps pitching like this. He's currently scheduled to start again Sunday against the White Sox and will hope for a little more offense behind him.

Ort was recalled from Triple-A Worcester on Tuesday.

The 30-year-old was demoted to Worcester last week but will quickly rejoin the big-league club with Tanner Houck (back) headed to the injured list. Ort has appeared in 10 games for Boston this year and has a 9.49 ERA, 2.03 WHIP and 12:6 K:BB across 12.1 innings.

Lopez (back) was reinstated from the 15-day injured list ahead of Game 2 of Tuesday's doubleheader against the Royals, Daryl Van Schouwen of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.

Lopez suffered the injury during his first appearance after the All-Star break, but he's now been cleared to rejoin Chicago's active roster. The 28-year-old has been a key bullpen piece for the White Sox this year with a 2.98 ERA, 1.06 WHIP and 44:8 K:BB across 42.1 innings.

The Mariners placed Borucki (forearm) on the 15-day injured list Tuesday.

Borucki's move to the IL was easy to see coming after he was diagnosed with a left forearm strain when he exited early in his relief appearance during Monday's loss to the Yankees. Even if Borucki's forearm strain is revealed to be of the low-grade variety, he's still likely to spend more than the minimum 15 days on the shelf. The Mariners recalled fellow left-handed reliever Brennan Bernardino from Triple-A Tacoma in a corresponding move.

Bernardino was returned to the minors just two days ago after serving as the Mariners' 27th man in Saturday's doubleheader with the Angels, but he'll be eligible to rejoin the big club since Seattle moved Ryan Borucki (forearm) to the 15-day injured list Tuesday. The Mariners are likely to reserve Bernardino's usage for lower-leverage spots or for lefty-heavy portions of opposing lineups.

Manager A.J. Hinch said Brieske (forearm) has been pulled off his rehab assignment at Triple-A Toledo and won't be activated from the 15-day injured list this week after experiencing symptoms of right biceps tendinitis following his most recent start Friday, Chris McCosky of The Detroit News reports.

The fact that Brieske's injury is being characterized as tendinitis rather than a strain suggests he isn't dealing with anything too severe, but the Tigers are still likely to take a cautious approach with the rookie pitcher during a non-contending season. He'll presumably be shut down for at least a few days before the Tigers determine if he's fit to resume a throwing program. With Brieske not coming off the IL this week like the Tigers had planned, the team will need to break in a new pitcher into the rotation Friday against the White Sox.

Brieske (forearm) is no longer on track to return from the 15-day injured list Thursday, as Garrett Hill is scheduled to start the Tigers' series finale with the Guardians that day, Evan Woodbery of MLive.com reports.

Since Brieske completed his second rehab start at Triple-A Toledo last Friday, he should be available to pitch for the Tigers as soon as Wednesday. The Tigers haven't indicated that Brieske has suffered any sort of setback in his recovery from a right forearm injury, but he looks like he'll get some extra rest before he makes his return from the IL. Brieske could still be an option to start any of the Tigers' three games this weekend in Chicago versus the White Sox.
