Pruitt's contract was selected by the Athletics on Saturday.

Pruitt was designated for assignment Monday, but he's back again just five days later after Dany Jimenez hit the 60-day injured list with a strained right shoulder. Pruitt owns a 4.78 ERA in 37.2 innings this season, so he's unlikely to pitch in a high-leverage role.

Jimenez was placed on the 60-day injured list Saturday with a right shoulder srain.

Jimenez last pitched Wednesday versus the Marlins and apparently left the appearance a little worse for wear, as his move to the 60-day IL with the strained shoulder ensures he'll miss the rest of the season. He finishes the 2022 campaign with a 3.41 ERA, 1.19 WHIP, 34 strikeouts, 11 saves and four holds over 34.1 innings in 34 appearances with the Athletics. Austin Pruitt had his contract selected from Triple-A Las Vegas on Saturday and will replace Jimenez in Oakland's bullpen.

Chapman was placed on the injured list Saturday with an infection in his leg, Jack Curry of YES Network reports.

The issue reportedly stemmed from a tattoo Chapman received. Chapman hasn't pitched in over a week and allowed three runs while walking four batters in his last two appearances, though it's unclear exactly when the problem started bothering him. The back of the Yankees' bullpen is quite beat up at the moment, with Clay Holmes (back) and Scott Effross (shoulder) also out, though Holmes should return Monday and now seemingly has a clearer path to reclaiming closer duties. Lou Trivino or Jonathan Loaisiga could be candidates to record a save over the weekend.

Jurado (undisclosed) was activated from the COVID-19 injured list at Triple-A St. Paul on Saturday, Brandon Warne of Access Twins reports.

Jurado hasn't pitched in the minors since Aug. 12, but he should be available for the final month of the regular season. Over 10 appearances (four starts) at St. Paul this year, he's posted a 5.03 ERA and 1.15 WHIP in 34 innings.

Bummer (shoulder) will begin a rehab assignment at Triple-A Charlotte on Tuesday, James Fegan of The Athletic reports.

Bummer has been throwing off a mound over the last several weeks and will now return to game action with the minor-league club. The southpaw expects to be at Charlotte for approximately a week, which would likely put him on track to rejoin the White Sox at some point during their road trip in Seattle that begins Sept. 5.

Murfee (4-0) recorded the win in an extra-innings victory over the Guardians on Friday, firing a scoreless 11th inning during which he issued two walks.

Murfee didn't allow any hits or record any strikeouts, but the right-hander nevertheless made it an eventful frame with an intentional walk of Jose Ramirez and a conventional free pass issued to Oscar Gonzalez. The 28-year-old buckled down with two on and two out by getting Mike Freeman to ground out into an inning-ending fielder's choice, and he was rewarded with his fourth victory of the season when Mitch Haniger singled in the game-winning run in the home half of the frame. Murfee now has just one fewer win than his five holds and has complemented those counting stats with a 2.67 ERA and 0.87 WHIP across 54 innings.

White (1-4) took the loss Friday, surrendering seven runs on eight hits and three walks over five innings in a 12-0 rout at the hands of the Angels. He struck out five.

Some shaky defense by the Blue Jays didn't help matters, but White also wasn't able to command his pitches within the zone. He got the hook after 91 pitches (59 strikes), but this was still the first time he's been able to complete five innings in a Toronto uniform. The 27-year-old former Dodger has a 5.89 ERA, 1.69 WHIP and 15:7 K:BB through 18.1 innings over four starts for the Jays.

Cleavinger was recalled from Triple-A Durham on Saturday, Neil Solondz of the Rays Radio Network reports.

Cleavinger was traded from the Dodgers to the Rays at the beginning of August, and he posted a 1.00 ERA and 0.56 WHIP in nine innings over nine relief appearances at Durham over the last several weeks. The southpaw should serve mainly as a middle reliever with the major-league club.

Yarbrough was optioned to Triple-A Durham on Saturday, Neil Solondz of the Rays Radio Network reports.

Yarbrough struggled mightily during Friday's start against the Red Sox, giving up five runs on eight hits and two walks while striking out three in 3.1 innings to take his eighth loss of the season. Although he had been relatively productive over his two appearances ahead of Friday's start, he'll still be sent to the minors to make room for Garrett Cleavinger on the active roster. The team hasn't announced who will take Yarbrough's spot in the rotation, but it's possible that the club rolls with a four-man rotation for the time being since the Rays have two days off next week.

Chargois allowed one hit and struck out one across a scoreless inning Friday against the Red Sox.

Chargois served as the opener and needed only 12 pitches to work the scoreless frame. He has taken on a heavy workload since returning from the injured list Tuesday and has already pitched three scoreless innings while picking up three strikeouts as opposed to one walk. Chargois has missed the majority of the season due to an oblique injury, but he looks to be in for a heavy workload to close the campaign.
