Anderson, who was optioned to Triple-A Durham on Aug. 22, won't pitch again this season after recently dealing with plantar fasciitis in his right foot, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

After performing as arguably one of the Rays' top relievers during the team's 2019 and 2020 postseason runs, Anderson has struggled to stay healthy over the subsequent two seasons. He spent the first four and half months of the current season on the injured list while recovering from the elbow surgery he underwent last October, and he had struggled to regain top form since returning to action for Durham. He logged a 5.63 ERA, 1.44 WHIP and 12:3 K:BB in 16 innings for Durham before making his 17th and final appearance for the affiliate Sept. 10. The foot issue isn't considered a major concern, but he'll get a head start on his offseason nonetheless. The Rays may face a tough decision on whether to tender Anderson a contract heading into the 2023 season.

Marte was optioned to Triple-A Salt Lake on Tuesday.

Marte has a 7.36 ERA, 2.36 WHIP and 15:18 K:BB in 11 innings in the majors across 11 appearances. Rob Zastryzny was recalled to take his place in the bullpen.

Honeywell, who was outrighted to Triple-A Las Vegas upon activation from the 60-day injured list Sept. 11, has allowed two earned runs on six hits over 3.1 innings while posting a 5:2 K:BB in his first two relief appearances with the Aviators.

Honeywell made a pair of 1.2-inning appearances out of the Las Vegas bullpen against Tacoma on Wednesday and Saturday. The right-hander allowed a pair of solo homers among four hits to the Rainiers on Wednesday, but he bore down to produce a scoreless effort with three punchouts Saturday. Honeywell's complicated, voluminous injury history makes any long-term outlook for him uncertain at best, but the organization hopes he can build some momentum at the tail end of the minor-league season before potentially getting a chance to compete for a big-league roster spot again in spring training.

Murfee, who fired a scoreless ninth inning during which he allowed a hit and a walk while recording a strikeout in a win over the Angels on Monday, has pitched to a 1.23 ERA across the 7.1 innings he's logged across eight September appearances.

Murfee hasn't recorded any decisions, saves or holds during that span, but he continues to be one of manager Scott Servais' most reliable bullpen options from a real-world perspective. The 28-year-old rookie has produced a 4-0 record, 2.49 ERA, 0.91 WHIP and 9.7 K/9 in 57 appearances, garnering five holds along the way.

Barlow (finger) struck out two in a scoreless inning Saturday during his first rehab appearance at Triple-A Round Rock.

The rehab appearance was a promising one, as he retired the side on 14 pitches. Barlow is expected to make another appearance for Round Rock on Tuesday or Wednesday.

Howard (shoulder) allowed six runs (four earned) on four hits and three walks while striking out one in a rehab start for Triple-A Round Rock on Saturday, the Rangers' official site reports.

Howard ran his pitch count to 68 in what was his second rehab outing. The right-hander also threw Sept. 7, allowing one run on five hits while striking out four over four innings. Howard is expected to make a third rehab start, likely Sept. 23.

Alexander (4-10) tossed seven scoreless innings to earn the win Monday against the Orioles. He allowed two hits and two walks while striking out four.

The typically tame Detroit offense exploded for 11 runs, which helped Alexander cruise to his first win in nearly a month. The lefty had allowed 10 earned runs across 9.1 innings in his last two starts, so this effort was a bit unexpected. Alexander now has a 4.91 ERA across 84.1 innings this season. He'll look to build on this positive outing in his next scheduled start Sunday against the White Sox, though he's still hard to trust for fantasy purposes.

Hentges struck out two batters over 2.1 perfect innings and earned a save over Minnesota on Monday.

Hentges needed just 20 pitches to quickly retire all seven batters he faced in Monday's blowout win. The 26-year-old lefty has fired 10.2 consecutive scoreless frames while posting a 14:1 K:BB. He lowered his season ERA to 2.51 with a 66:17 K:BB through 52 appearances. Hentges saw his first saw chance of the year Monday and likely won't see many more down the stretch.

Mayers is expected to remain in the bullpen this week while Tucker Davidson re-enters the rotation to start Wednesday's game against the Rangers, Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register reports.

MLB.com previously listed Mayers as its starter for Tuesday's series opener in Texas, but he'll apparently stick around in a relief role with the Angels giving Davidson another chance to prove his worth as the sixth member of their rotation. Davidson owns a 7.24 ERA in 27.1 innings since arriving via trade from Atlanta on Aug. 2, but Mayers hasn't made an especially compelling case to displace him in the rotation. While covering 30.2 innings of his own since the beginning of August, Mayers has produced a 5.58 ERA and 1.34 WHIP.

Davidson is scheduled to start Wednesday's game against the Rangers in Arlington, Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register reports.

Though MLB.com previously listed Mike Mayers as a new addition to the rotation this week, Davidson will end up retaining his role as the Angels' No. 6 starter. Davidson doesn't seem to have much job security, however, as the Angels skipped his turn through the rotation this past weekend after he lasted just two innings while allowing four earned runs his last time out Sept. 11 in Houston. Since being acquired from Atlanta on Aug. 2, Davidson has gone 1-4 with a 7.24 ERA and 1.76 WHIP in 27.1 innings.
