  • Rockies' Hunter Goodman: Day off Wednesday

Goodman is not in the lineup for Wednesday's tilt against the Nationals.

Goodman will get a well-earned day after starting in each of the last five and 13 of the last 14 contests. The Rockies will go with Braxton Fulford at catcher Wednesday and will plug him into the No. 9 spot in the batting order.

  • Rockies' Hunter Goodman: Huge month continues

Goodman went 1-for-5 with a three-run home run in Tuesday's 10-6 win over the Nationals.

His seventh-inning shot off Cole Henry was one of seven homers on the night for the Rockies, tying a franchise record. Goodman's gone yard three times in the last two games and seven times in 15 June contests, a month in which he boasts a .350/.361/.850 slash line with seven other extra-base hits (five doubles and two triples), 13 runs and 15 RBI despite a concerning 1:20 BB:K.

  • Rob Brantly C | MIA

Marlins' Rob Brantly: Begins rehab assignment

Brantly (lat) began a rehab assignment with Triple-A Jacksonville on Tuesday, going 0-for-3 with two strikeouts.

Brantly has missed nearly two months of action with a right lat strain. With the Marlins already carrying three catcher on their active roster, Brantly is a good bet to be designated for assignment once activated from the 60-day injured list.

  • Will Smith C | LAD

Dodgers' Will Smith: Goes yard in three-hit game

Smith went 3-for-4 with a two-run home run, a double and a second run scored in Tuesday's 8-6 win over the Padres.

Smith put the Dodgers ahead 5-3 with his sixth-inning blast. The catcher has logged five multi-hit efforts and six extra-base hits over his last nine games, going 13-for-36 (.361) in that span. Smith's .947 OPS ranks second among all qualified catchers in the majors this season, trailing only Cal Raleigh (.998). Smith is also batting .330 with seven homers, 40 RBI, 35 runs scored, 14 doubles, two stolen bases and one triple over 58 contests.

  • Diamondbacks' Gabriel Moreno: Scratched with hand soreness

Moreno was scratched from the lineup ahead of Tuesday's game against Toronto due to right hand soreness, Steve Gilbert of MLB.com reports.

Moreno will take a day off Tuesday to give his hand time to recover. Meanwhile, Jose Herrera will fill in behind the dish and bat ninth for Arizona.

  • Joey Bart C | PIT

Pirates' Joey Bart: Activated from IL

The Pirates reinstated Bart (concussion) from the injured list Tuesday.

Bart landed on the 7-day concussion IL in late May, but lingering symptoms caused his recovery to extend well into June. He was cleared to begin a rehab assignment Wednesday and went 3-for-13 with four walks, two RBI and a run scored across five minor-league games. Now out of concussion protocol and fully healthy, Bart should slide back in as Pittsburgh's primary catcher.

  • Phillies' Rafael Marchan: Doubles, scores run in win

Marchan went 1-for-4 with a double and a run scored in Monday's 5-2 victory over the Marlins.

Marchan's playing time has been scarce in 2025 -- he's appeared in only 19 games -- but he's been effective lately when called upon to fill in for J.T. Realmuto as Philadelphia's backup catcher. Over his last 26 plate appearances (10 games), the switch-hitting backstop is slashing .261/.346/.478 with one home run, two doubles, three RBI and four runs scored. With Realmuto healthy, however, Marchan doesn't have a clear pathway to consistent at-bats.

  • Rockies' Hunter Goodman: Launches two homers

Goodman went 2-for-4 with two home runs and three RBI in Monday's 6-4 win over the Nationals.

Goodman's great month of June continued after his second multi-homer game of the season. The 25-year-old has five doubles, two triples, five homers and 13 RBI while batting .364 this month. The catcher's .846 OPS is third-best in MLB among catchers.

  • Phillies' J.T. Realmuto: Getting breather Monday

Realmuto is not in the lineup for Monday's game in Miami.

Realmuto will get a routine day off after he started at catcher in each of the previous six contests. Rafael Marchan will be behind the dish and bat eighth for the Phillies in Monday's series opener.

  • Pirates' Brett Sullivan: Removed from 40-man roster

The Pirates designated Sullivan for assignment Monday.

The club needed to free up a spot on the 40-man roster for Dauri Moreta (elbow), who was activated from the 60-day injured list. Booting Sullivan from the active roster suggests the Pirates are preparing for Joey Bart (concussion) to be activated prior to Tuesday's game in Detroit.
