    Murphy (hamstring) is not in the starting lineup versus the Phillies on Wednesday, Mark Bowman of MLB.com reports.

    Murphy will miss at least one more game after he injured his right hamstring Saturday against the Rockies. Travis d'Arnaud will be the starting backstop for Atlanta on Wednesday and hit sixth.

    Alvarez is out of the lineup Wednesday versus the Astros.

    Alvarez will take a seat after he went 2-for-6 with a double, two runs, a walk and three strikeouts over the first two games of the series. Omar Narvaez will draw the start at catcher and bat ninth in the series finale with Houston.

    Marlins' Nick Fortes: Receives breather Wednesday

    Fortes is out of the lineup Wednesday against Toronto.

    Fortes will head to the bench after he went 2-for-3 with a double in Tuesday's 2-0 loss. Jacob Stallings will take over at catcher and bat eighth in the series finale with the Blue Jays.

    Diaz is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Reds.

    The Rockies are wrapping up their series in Cincinnati with a day game after a night game, so Diaz appears to be sitting out Wednesday merely for maintenance purposes. Austin Wynns will check in behind the dish, catching for starting pitcher Connor Seabold.

  • Cardinals' Willson Contreras: Three hits in Tuesday's win

    Contreras went 3-for-4 with two doubles, two RBI and a run scored in Tuesday's win over the Nationals.

    Contreras tallied RBI in the fifth and seventh innings while notching his first three-hit game of the season and his first game with multiple extra-base hits since May 18. The 31-year-old now has six hits in his last four games but is still trying to turn things around at the plate. For the year he's now slashing .210/.303/.370 with eight homers, 31 RBI, 28 runs and a 27:62 BB:K over 271 plate appearances.

    Padres' Gary Sanchez: Sitting Tuesday

    Sanchez is not in the starting lineup Tuesday versus the Giants, Sonja Chen of MLB.com reports.

    Sanchez will take a seat after he went 0-for-4 with a strikeout in Monday's extra-inning loss. Austin Nola will draw the start at catcher and bat ninth against San Francisco.

  • Mets' Francisco Alvarez: Starting at catcher Tuesday

    Alvarez (hand) is in the starting lineup Tuesday at Houston.

    Alvarez was pulled from Monday's series opener versus the Astros after taking a foul ball off his right hand, but X-rays turned up negative for any structural damage. He will catch and bat sixth for the Mets on Tuesday night at Minute Maid Park.

    Cubs' Yan Gomes: On bench Tuesday

    Gomes is not in the lineup Tuesday versus the Pirates.

    Miguel Amaya is also riding the pine for the Cubs as Tucker Barnhart handles the catching duties and hits ninth against the Pirates and right-hander Johan Oviedo.

  • Diamondbacks' Gabriel Moreno: Out of lineup Tuesday

    Moreno is out of the lineup Tuesday against the Brewers.

    Carson Kelly will start behind the plate and bat eighth versus the Brewers and right-hander Colin Rea. Moreno had handled the catching duties in four of the Diamondbacks' last five games.

  • Phillies' Rafael Marchan: Activated and optioned

    Philadelphia activated Marchan (hand/wrist) from the 60-day injured list Tuesday and optioned him to Triple-A Lehigh Valley.

    Marchan is recovered from March surgery to repair a fractured right hamate bone, but the Phillies will continue to roll with J.T. Realmuto and Garrett Stubbs as their major-league catching tandem.
