  • Elias Diaz C | KC

Rockies' Elias Diaz: Taking seat Wednesday

Diaz is not in the lineup for Wednesday contest in San Diego, Jeff Sanders of The San Diego Union-Tribune reports.

Diaz has tailed off at the plate in the second half and has been given more days off down the stretch. He will begin this one on the bench while Austin Wynns does the catching for Chase Anderson.

  • Padres' Luis Campusano: Absent from lineup

Campusano is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game versus the Rockies, Jeff Sanders of The San Diego Union-Tribune reports.

Contreras went 1-for-4 with a walk, a solo home run, a second run scored and a stolen base in Tuesday's 7-3 win over the Cardinals.

After the Brewers fell behind 2-0 in the first inning, Contreras sparked the comeback by taking Drew Rom deep in the third. The 25-year-old backstop has hit safely in seven straight games and 12 of the last 13 as Milwaukee tries to lock up the NL Central title, slashing .314/.400/.451 over the latter stretch with two homers, three steals, eight RBI and 10 runs.

  • Luke Maile C | KC

  • Dodgers' Diego Cartaya: Ends season on shelf

Cartaya has been on the 7-day injured list with Double-A Tulsa since Aug. 30.

There were also rumors on X that Cartaya was placed on the development list, but nonetheless, his final game of the season was Aug. 27. Cartaya hit .189 with 19 home runs and 117 strikeouts in 93 games for the Drillers in a very disappointing first season at the level. He is already on the 40-man roster and seemingly far from helping the big-league club, so the Dodgers' long-term belief in Cartaya could be tested this offseason.

  • Marlins' Jacob Stallings: Heads to bench Tuesday
