Rafael Marchan C | PHI
Phillies' Rafael Marchan: Picking up rare start
Marchan will start at catcher and bat ninth in Sunday's game against the Nationals.
With top backstop J.T. Realmuto receiving a rare day off, Marchan will pick up just his 24th start of the season. He's slashing .177/.270/.241 with one home run, six runs and six RBI across 90 plate appearances in 2025.

Drake Baldwin C | ATL
Braves' Drake Baldwin: Idle for series finale
Baldwin is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Mets.
Baldwin started the first two games of the series, but he'll head to the bench Sunday while southpaw David Peterson takes the hill for New York. Sean Murphy will handle catching duties for Atlanta.

Luis Torrens DH | NYM
Mets' Luis Torrens: Cleared to start Sunday
Torrens (hand) will start at catcher and bat eighth in Sunday's game at Atlanta.
Torrens was held out of action for the past three games while managing a sore left hand, but he's made enough progress in his recovery to re-enter the starting nine for the series finale in Atlanta. With Francisco Alvarez (thumb) on the shelf, Torrens should be in line to see the bulk of the starts behind the dish for the Mets now that he's moved past the hand issue.

J.T. Realmuto C | PHI
Phillies' J.T. Realmuto: Receiving Sunday off
Realmuto is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Nationals.
Realmuto started the previous five contests and is in the midst of a seven-game hit streak, during which he's batting .440 (11-for-25) with two doubles and three home runs, but he'll take a seat for Sunday's series finale versus Washington. Rafael Marchan will step in behind the plate to catch for lefty Ranger Suarez.

Henry Davis RF | PIT
Pirates' Henry Davis: Getting fourth start in six games
Davis will start at catcher and bat eighth in Sunday's game against the Rockies.
Davis has posted a .720 OPS dating back to Aug. 7 and appears to have poached more playing time from Joey Bart at catcher as a result. He'll be included in the lineup for the fourth time in the last six games.
-
Joey Bart C | PIT
Pirates' Joey Bart: Losing work to Davis
Bart is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Rockies.
Bart will take a seat for the series finale while the playing time at catcher appears to be tilting back in favor of Henry Davis. Over the last six games, Bart has drawn just two starts to Davis' four.

Reese McGuire C | CHC
Cubs' Reese McGuire: Drives in five in win
McGuire went 1-for-2 with a grand slam, a walk, five total RBI and two runs scored in Saturday's 12-1 win over the Angels.
McGuire stretched the Cubs' lead to 6-0 with his grand slam in the fourth inning, and he added another RBI on a sacrifice fly in the seventh. The catcher entered Saturday just 1-for-14 with one RBI over seven games in August. Overall, he's at a .223/.250/.457 slash line with seven homers, 21 RBI, 15 runs scored and one double across 101 plate appearances this season.

Luis Torrens DH | NYM
Mets' Luis Torrens: Battling hand soreness
Torrens has been dealing with soreness in his catching hand but is available off the bench Saturday against Atlanta, Andrew Tredinnick of The Bergen Record reports.
Torrens was surprisingly held out of the lineup Saturday for the third straight game, but it turns out his absence is due to soreness in his left hand. While he'll be available off the bench Saturday, Hayden Senger will draw another start behind the plate.

Luis Torrens DH | NYM
Mets' Luis Torrens: Still idle
Torrens is out of the lineup for Saturday's game against Atlanta.
Torrens will yield to Hayden Senger behind the plate for a third straight game. It's a rather surprising development, considering Torrens was the favorite to take over the starting catcher role while Francisco Alvarez (thumb) is sidelined. Torrens started the first two games sans Alvarez and is slashing .210/.275/.299 in 233 plate appearances this season.
