Murphy will be called up when rosters expand Sunday, Martin Gallegos of MLB.com reports.

Murphy has retained his status as a top-10 catching prospect despite a lot of missed time this season; he underwent surgery on his left knee in early May and then re-injured the knee in late July, necessitating another trip to the injured list. In his 31 games with Triple-A Las Vegas this season, Murphy has slashed .308/.386/.625 with 10 homers and a 15:31 BB:K. It's not clear how much Murphy will play with Josh Phegley swinging it well since his return, but Murphy has upside and is a name to keep in mind this weekend in deeper two-catcher leagues.

McGuire went 3-for-3 with a home run and two RBI in Friday's loss to Houston.

McGuire drove in a run in the second inning and left the yard in the eighth, but the Astros would come away with a 7-4 victory. The 24-year-old has spent limited time in the majors this season, but he's slashing .300/.314/.580 with four homers and six RBI in 15 games.

Thaiss is not starting Friday against Boston.

Thaiss has gone 2-for-17 at the plate over his last seven games. David Fletcher starts at third base in his absence.

Narvaez is not starting Friday against Texas.

Narvaez hits the bench for the third time in four games. Tom Murphy gets the start behind the plate.

Jansen is not in the lineup Friday against Houston.

Jansen has just one hit in his last five starts. Reese McGuire gets the call behind the plate in his absence for the fourth time in six games.

Garver sits for the second straight game Friday against the Tigers.

Garver's days off come on the back of a stretch of four consecutive starts. Jason Castro remains the starter behind the plate Friday.

D'Arnaud went 3-for-5 with a home run and four RBI in Thursday's win over Houston.

D'Arnaud single-handedly accounted for Zack Greinke's worst start as an Astro, torching the All-Star pitcher for a pair of run-scoring singles and a two-run homer. The long ball was d'Arnaud's first in August after he launched eight homers in a splendid July. Overall, the 30-year-old is slashing .253/.320/.447 with 14 home runs and 53 RBI in stints with the Mets, Dodgers and Rays this season.

Trevino is not starting Thursday against the Mariners.

Trevino will give way to Jeff Mathis behind the dish Thursday as the two continue to split time. In 17 appearances since joining Texas, Trevino is hitting just .190 with a .495 OPS and 29.5 percent strikeout rate.

Garver is out of the lineup for Thursday's game against the White Sox, Dan Hayes of The Athletic reports.

Garver is just getting a routine breather after starting behind the plate in the night game Wednesday, when he went 3-for-4 with his 24th home run of the season and two RBI in the Twins' 8-2 win. Jason Castro will spell him at catcher and work in a battery with Jose Berrios.

Perez is out of the lineup for Thursday's game against the Tigers.

With the series finale beginning at 1:10 p.m. EDT, Perez will take a seat after logging action behind the plate the last two days. He recorded only one hit -- his 21st home run of the season -- in his two starts in Detroit. Kevin Plawecki will spell him behind the dish for the matinee game.
