Nick Fortes C | TB
Rays' Nick Fortes: Homer, four RBI in rout
Fortes went 3-for-5 with a home run, four RBI and an additional run scored in Tuesday's 12-2 win over the Blue Jays.
Fortes launched a three-run shot in the fifth inning before adding an RBI single in the ninth. The home run was the 29-year-old's second in as many games, and he's now driven in six runs while hitting safely in three straight contests. On the season, he's slashing .266/.308/.369 with four homers, 25 RBI and 27 runs scored across 239 plate appearances.

Austin Wynns C | TEX
Rangers' Austin Wynns: Contract selected
The Rangers selected Wynns' contract from Triple-A Round Rock on Tuesday, Jeff Wilson of AllDLLS.com reports.
With Kyle Higashioka (forearm) landing on the injured list Tuesday, the Rangers will turn to Wynns to bolster their depth behind the plate. The 35-year-old backstop has just four hits in 53 big-league at-bats this season, but he's slashed .289/.413/.474 at Triple-A since signing a minor-league deal with Texas in late June. He'll presumably serve as the backup to Elias Diaz while Higashioka and Danny Jansen (forearm) are on the shelf.

Kyle Higashioka C | TEX
Rangers' Kyle Higashioka: Placed on injured list
The Rangers placed Higashioka on the 10-day injured list Tuesday with a right flexor strain, Jeff Wilson of AllDLLS.com reports.
Higashioka has posted an .813 OPS in 30 trips to the plate since the beginning of July, but his injury will keep him on the sidelines until at least the end of the month. Austin Wynns was selected to the active roster to replenish Texas' catcher depth.

Hunter Feduccia C | LAD
Rays' Hunter Feduccia: Sitting against righty
Feduccia is absent from the lineup for Tuesday's game in Toronto.
It's the second straight day that the left-handed-hitting Feduccia is not starting against a righty hurler (in this case, Kevin Gausman). Nick Fortes will get another start after going 2-for-4 with a homer in Monday's series opener.
-
Yainer Diaz C | HOU
Astros' Yainer Diaz: Taking seat Tuesday
Diaz is not in the lineup for Tuesday's contest against the Marlins.
Diaz started at catcher the last three games but will begin Tuesday's festivities on the bench. Christian Vazquez will take over behind the plate for Houston.

Samuel Basallo C | BAL
Orioles' Samuel Basallo: Out of lineup again Tuesday
Basallo (shoulder) is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Red Sox, Matt Weyrich of The Baltimore Sun reports.
It's the second straight absence from the lineup for Basallo after he exited Sunday's contest due to right shoulder discomfort. The 21-year-old indicated his shoulder is already feeling better and that he should be able to avoid a trip to the injured list, per Rich Dubroff of BaltimoreBaseball.com. Adley Rutschman (wrist) is already on the IL, leaving Sam Huff and Chadwick Tromp to split catching duties if Basallo misses more time.

Patrick Bailey C | CLE
Guardians' Patrick Bailey: Resting Tuesday
Bailey is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Twins.
Austin Hedges will receive the nod behind the plate Tuesday while Bailey rests for the second game of the series. In Monday's 13-4 victory, Bailey caught all nine innings while producing a season-high four hits, including his fourth home run of the campaign.
-
Alejandro Kirk C | TOR
Blue Jays' Alejandro Kirk: Exiting starting nine
Kirk is not in the lineup for Tuesday's contest against the Rays.
It's a regular day off for Kirk, who is sporting just a .598 OPS with one home run in 25 games since coming off the injured list. Brandon Valenzuela will grab a start at catcher in Kirk's stead.

Edgar Quero C | CHW
White Sox's Edgar Quero: Recalled from Triple-A
The White Sox recalled Quero from Triple-A Charlotte on Tuesday.
He's getting another opportunity following the injury to Kyle Teel (ankle). Quero slashed just .187/.253/.233 earlier this season for the White Sox and hit only .230/.299/.295 at Charlotte, so it's difficult to summon much confidence he'll right the ship offensively. However, he should get an opportunity to at least share the catching job with Drew Romo while Teel is shelved.

Kyle Teel C | CHW
White Sox's Kyle Teel: Out with ankle sprain
The White Sox placed Teel on the 10-day injured list Tuesday due to a left ankle sprain.
The 24-year-old departed Monday's game against the Rangers due to the injury and was sporting crutches after the contest, so it's hardly a surprise that he's ended up on the IL. It's unclear how long Teel is expected to be sidelined, but he'll be eligible to be reinstated July 31. Edgar Quero was called up from Triple-A Charlotte and should split catching duties with Drew Romo while Teel is out.
