Max Muncy 3B | LAD
Dodgers' Max Muncy: Torments Giants again
Muncy went 2-for-5 with two home runs and four RBI in a 10-5 win over San Francisco on Wednesday.
Muncy entered the three-game series against the Giants with just one homer and a .121/.293/.212 slash line, but he turned things around quickly against his team's biggest rival. The third baseman feasted on San Francisco pitching to the tune of four homers and 11 RBI while going 5-for-9 in the series despite beginning the middle game on the bench. Muncy might be a surefire Hall of Famer if he could face the Giants every game -- he has 25 long balls and 55 RBI against them over 75 career contests spanning 296 plate appearances.

Nolan Arenado 3B | ARI
Cardinals' Nolan Arenado: Homers in Wednesday's win
Arenado went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run and a walk in Wednesday's 7-4 win over the Rockies.
Arenado has driven in multiple runs three times in his last five games. He's been excellent as usual to begin 2023, hitting safely in 11 of 12 games to start the season. The third baseman is slashing .327/.382/.490 with two homers, 13 RBI, six runs scored and two doubles through 55 plate appearances.

Nick Maton DH | CHW
Tigers' Nick Maton: Goes deep again Wednesday
Maton went 1-for-3 with a solo home run in Wednesday's 10-inning loss to the Blue Jays.
Maton went deep in the fourth inning, giving him two long balls in as many days. The 26-year-old hit a career-high five home runs last season as a depth piece with the Phillies, but it seems like he'll see a lot more playing time with the Tigers this year, so he stands a good chance of surpassing that figure.

Kyle Farmer 3B | ATL
Twins' Kyle Farmer: Has successful dental surgery
Farmer underwent successful surgery on his lower lip and bottom teeth Wednesday.
Farmer luckily avoided a fractured jaw after getting hit in the face in the fourth inning of Wednesday's 3-1 win over the White Sox. He's set to have external stitches removed in a week, making a stint on the 10-day injured list all but certain for the 32-year-old utility infielder. Kyle Garlick is a prime candidate to receive a call-up from Triple-A St. Paul to replace Farmer as a right-handed bat off the bench.

Alex Bregman 3B | CHC
Astros' Alex Bregman: Blasts three-run homer
Bregman went 1-for-3 with a three-run home run and two walks during Wednesday's victory over Pittsburgh.
Bregman has now extended his hitting streak to four games with a home run coming in each of his last two. After starting the year just 5-for-39 through his first nine games, the 29-year-old third baseman could finally be starting to heat up at the plate.

Kevin Newman 3B | LAA
Reds' Kevin Newman: Losing work to Barrero
Newman is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against Atlanta.
Jose Barrero will get his third consecutive start at shortstop while Newman remains on the bench once again. With Barrero having provided three hits -- including a two-run home run -- through the first two games of the series, he looks like he'll continue to be prioritized over Newman.

Tyler Nevin 3B | ATH
Tigers' Tyler Nevin: Called up from Triple-A
Detroit recalled Nevin from Triple-A Toledo on Wednesday.
Before suffering an oblique injury in early March and beginning the season on the injured list, Nevin appeared to have a good chance at making the Tigers' Opening Day roster. He'll now get the opportunity to join the big club, as he was called up after starting pitcher Matt Manning (foot) was placed on the injured list in a corresponding move. A career .205/.312/.292 hitter in the big leagues, Nevin could get a look in an everyday role at third base if Detroit shifts Nick Maton to second base, a position where the team has struggled to get production thus far in 2023.

Kyle Farmer 3B | ATL
Twins' Kyle Farmer: Needs dental surgery
Twins manager Rocco Baldelli said after Wednesday's 3-1 win over the White Sox that Farmer will need surgery to realign his teeth, John Shipley of the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports.
Farmer avoided a fractured jaw after getting struck in the face by a Lucas Giolito pitch in the fourth inning of Wednesday's contest, but he's going to need extended time off following the dental procedure. Kyle Garlick could be called up from Triple-A St. Paul ahead of Thursday's game against the Yankees with the likelihood that Farmer is placed on the 10-day injured list. Farmer had been getting regular playing time as a utility infielder in the early part of the season while batting .226 with a .641 OPS through 35 plate appearances.

Kyle Farmer 3B | ATL
Twins' Kyle Farmer: Early signs good after HBP
Farmer appears to have avoided a fractured jaw after getting hit by a pitch Wednesday, Dan Hayes of The Athletic reports.
Farmer took a Lucas Giolito delivery to the face in the fourth inning of Wednesay's game against the White Sox. He has a laceration and needs dental work, per Hayes, but the early indications are that no bones were broken. It's unclear whether the infielder will require an IL stint.
