  • Jake Burger 1B | TEX

White Sox's Jake Burger: Back from IL

The White Sox reinstated Burger (oblique) from the 10-day injured list prior to Sunday's game against the Astros, James Fegan of The Athletic reports.

Burger will hit seventh and serve as Chicago's designated hitter in Sunday' series finale. The 27-year-old spent the minimum 10 days on the shelf due to the oblique strain and was deemed fit to rejoin the White Sox after a two-game rehab stint with Triple-A Charlotte. Though fellow third baseman Yoan Moncada narrowly beat Burger back from the IL, the latter should have a fairly clear path to steady playing time at DH while Eloy Jimenez (appendectomy) is sidelined for the foreseeable future.

  • Nick Maton DH | CHW

Tigers' Nick Maton: Serving as DH again Sunday

Maton is starting at designated hitter and batting fifth in Sunday's game against the Mariners.

Andy Ibanez is continuing to see time at third base, so Maton will serve as the DH for the second straight game. He's batting just .157 with a .570 OPS, so he may continue to cede playing time to Ibanez at the hot corner, while DH starts aren't guaranteed moving forward either. Maton will need to start hitting more consistently soon to maintain a regular role with the Tigers.

  • Oswald Peraza 2B | LAA

Yankees' Oswald Peraza: Beginning rehab assignment

Peraza (ankle) will begin a rehab assignment with Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre on Sunday.

Peraza will get a chance to get back on the field after being out for over a week with his right ankle sprain. The 22-year-old will likely need at least a couple of rehab games before he's ready to return from the 10-day injured list next week.

  • Anthony Rendon 3B | LAA

Angels' Anthony Rendon: Not starting Sunday

Rendon (groin) is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Guardians, Rhett Bollinger of MLB.com reports.

Rendon will take a seat for the series finale in Cleveland after he exited early in Saturday's 8-6 loss with left groin tightness. The Angels appear to be viewing Rendon as day-to-day for the time being, with his availability for Monday's series opener in Baltimore seemingly up in the air. Gio Urshela will spell Rendon at third base Sunday.

  • Orioles' Gunnar Henderson: Swats fourth homer

Henderson went 1-for-3 with a solo home run in a 2-0 victory versus the Pirates on Saturday.

Henderson hit one of two homers for Baltimore in the win, going deep to right-center field in the second inning. The hit was just the second in the past seven games for the 21-year-old, who has gone 2-for-21 over that stretch. Henderson has had a rough campaign with a .175 batting average over 129 plate appearances, though he's still managed a solid .341 on-base percentage thanks to a 19.4 percent walk rate.

  • Yoan Moncada 3B | LAA

White Sox's Yoan Moncada: First hits since activation

Moncada went 3-for-4 with two doubles and a run scored Saturday against the Astros.

Moncada returned from the injured list Friday after missing a month due to back discomfort. He went hitless in his return but appeared to have knocked off the rust Saturday by tallying his second multi extra-base hit game of the campaign. Moncada has been limited by a few different injuries in the first six weeks of the season, though he's managed to maintain a .319 average and .386 wOBA across 48 plate appearances.

  • Ryan McMahon 3B | NYY

Rockies' Ryan McMahon: Gets aboard three times

McMahon went 2-for-3 with two doubles, one RBI, a walk, a stolen base and a run scored in Saturday's 7-4 loss to the Phillies.

McMahon was productive out of the No. 6 spot in the order. He's starting to get things turned around -- he's gone 6-for-16 (.375) with three RBI, four runs scored and two steals over his last four contests. The infielder is still slashing a modest .223/.292/.410 with four home runs, 17 RBI, 18 runs scored, three steals, 12 doubles and a triple through 39 games. His longest hitting streak so far this season is five games, a mark he could match Sunday.

  • Royce Lewis 3B | MIN

Twins' Royce Lewis: Plays well in rehab game

Lewis (knee) went 2-for-3 with a double, stolen base, three runs scored and a walk in a rehab game with Double-A Wichita on Saturday, Aaron Gleeman of The Athletic reports.

Lewis went 0-for-3 in his rehab debut with Wichita on Friday but turned things on in his second opportunity. The shortstop is working his way back from the torn ACL he suffered last summer while making a spectacular catch in the outfield as a member of the Twins. Lewis will likely need a lengthy rehab assignment, but he should be up with Minnesota sometime this summer as a player that offers significant fantasy upside.

  • Anthony Rendon 3B | LAA

Angels' Anthony Rendon: Removed with left groin tightness

Rendon was removed from Saturday's game against the Guardians with left groin tightness.

Rendon was replaced by Luis Rengifo with Rengifo moving to second base, Gio Urshela going from first to third and Brandon Drury heading from second to first. Rendon should be considered day-to-day, but it seems likely he'll undergo further testing before his availability is determined for the coming days.

  • Edmundo Sosa 2B | PHI

Phillies' Edmundo Sosa: Heads to bench

Sosa will sit Saturday against the Rockies.

In the absence of Rhys Hoskins (knee) and Darick Hall (thumb), the Phillies have settled on a corner-infield configuration of Sosa at third base and Alec Bohm at first in most games. That was the setup for the last eight games, but it will be Kody Clemens at first and Bohm at third this time around.
