Rafael Devers 3B | SF
Red Sox's Rafael Devers: Could be ready to play Wednesday
Red Sox manager Alex Cora said in an interview on WEEI that Devers (knee) is feeling better and could be ready to play Wednesday versus the Guardians, Jen McCaffrey of The Athletic reports.
Devers had to depart Tuesday's game against Cleveland with left knee discomfort, but it sounds like he's avoided a serious injury. The Red Sox should reveal their lineup shortly, so it will be known soon enough whether Devers is fully cleared.

Josh Rojas 3B | CHW
Mariners' Josh Rojas: On bench against lefty
Rojas is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Reds.
The lefty-hitting Rojas will make his way to the bench after starting each of the last three games while the Reds bring southpaw Andrew Abbott to the hill for the series finale. Platoon mate Luis Urias will check in for Rojas at third base.

Jeimer Candelario 3B | LAA
Reds' Jeimer Candelario: Not ready to start Wednesday
Candelario (illness) remains out of the lineup Wednesday in Seattle.
He'll give way to Santiago Espinal at third base for a second game in a row while he recovers from an illness. The Reds are off Thursday, so Candelario will have some additional time to shake off the ailment before Cincinnati opens its homestand Friday versus the Angels.

Darell Hernaiz SS | ATH
Athletics' Darell Hernaiz: Seizing hold of regular role
Hernaiz will start at third base and bat sixth Wednesday against the Cardinals.
Though he's drawing a start at the hot corner in the series finale, Hernaiz appears to have leapfrogged Nick Allen on the depth chart at shortstop. Hernaiz will be making his fifth straight start and his seventh in eight games, despite having recorded just two hits through his first 26 at-bats in the majors. Hernaiz remains one of the top positional prospects in the organization, so he could continue to play regularly while the 7-11 Athletics don't fancy themselves as contenders.

Isiah Kiner-Falefa CF | BOS
Blue Jays' Isiah Kiner-Falefa: Retreats to bench Wednesday
Kiner-Falefa is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Yankees.
Kiner-Falefa will get a breather after he made starts at either third base or second base in each of Toronto's last five games. Cavan Biggio will get the nod at the hot corner Wednesday while Davis Schneider mans the keystone.

Lenyn Sosa 2B | TOR
White Sox's Lenyn Sosa: Sitting for first game of twin bill
Sosa is out of the lineup for the first game of Wednesday's doubleheader with the Royals.
Sosa will likely start in the second game of the twin bill, but he'll give way to Braden Shewmake at third base in the opening contest of the day. Since Yoan Moncada (adductor) was placed on the injured list earlier this month, Sosa has settled in as Chicago's primary option at the hot corner. He had started each of the White Sox's last six games, going 3-for-23 with a pair of doubles, a walk, an RBI and two runs.

Yoan Moncada 3B | LAA
White Sox's Yoan Moncada: Headed to Arizona for rehab
Moncada (adductor) plans to head to extended spring training in the coming days to continue his rehab, Scott Merkin of MLB.com reports.
Moncada is just over a week removed from suffering a left adductor strain but is already feeling much better. The process will be deliberate, though, as he's on the 60-day injured list and isn't expected to return to action until around the All-Star break.

Joseph Ortiz 2B | MIL
Brewers' Joey Ortiz: Hits bench Wednesday
Ortiz is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Padres.
Ortiz had started at third base in each of the past three games while going 2-for-7 with a walk and a run scored, but he'll give way to Oliver Dunn for the series finale. The rookie has reached base at a .425 clip so far this season and should continue to remain ahead of Dunn on the depth chart with Dunn's production at the plate having slowed after a hot start to the season.

Brett Baty 3B | NYM
Mets' Brett Baty: Not expected to need IL stint
Baty (hamstring) said Wednesday that he's optimistic that he'll avoid the 10-day injured list, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.
Baty experienced left hamstring tightness during Tuesday's 3-1 win over the Pirates and is out of the lineup for Wednesday's series finale. However, he's feeling much better a day later and won't be sent in for imaging, leaving him confident that he'll be ready to play in a few days. The Mets have an off day Thursday, providing the young third baseman an extra day of rest before he perhaps returns to action this weekend against the Dodgers.

Ke'Bryan Hayes 3B | CIN
Pirates' Ke'Bryan Hayes: Held out with back tightness
Hayes (back) is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Mets.
Hayes was a late scratch ahead of Tuesday's 3-1 loss due to lower-back tightness, so it's not a surprise he's not ready to play in the series finale Wednesday. He missed about a month of action last season with the same injury and still has to manage back issues on occasion. At this point, he's considered day-to-day. Jared Triolo will start at third base Wednesday in place of Hayes.
