  • Alec Bohm 3B | PHI

Phillies' Alec Bohm: Sitting out Tuesday

Bohm is absent from the lineup for Tuesday's game in Milwaukee, Todd Zolecki of MLB.com reports.

Bohm started the first two games for the Phillies after being activated from the 10-day injured list Sunday, but he'll receive some rest Tuesday. Edmundo Sosa -- who is fresh off the IL himself -- will cover third base for Philadelphia in Bohm's stead.

  • Orioles' Jordan Westburg: Taking batting practice Tuesday

Westburg (hand) will take batting practice Tuesday, Jake Rill of MLB.com reports.

Per Orioles general manager Mike Elias, Westburg could get into a rehab game before Triple-A Norfolk's season ends Sunday. The young infielder is tracking toward a return during the final week of the regular season.

  • Ramon Urias 3B | STL

Orioles' Ramon Urias: Runs bases Tuesday

Urias (ankle) ran the bases at Camden Yards on Tuesday, Jacob Calvin Meyer of The Baltimore Sun reports.

Urias looked to be running at something close to full effort, which is a good sign as he works his way back from a sprained right ankle. With the minor-league schedule wrapping up, Urias could go right back onto the Orioles' active roster rather than play in a rehab setting first. He had been seeing the bulk of the starts at third base before getting hurt, although Jordan Westburg (hand) also appears to be closing in on a return.

  • Matt Chapman 3B | SF

Giants' Matt Chapman: Day off Tuesday

Chapman is absent from the lineup for Tuesday's game in Baltimore.

It's a rare day off for Chapman, who leads all third basemen with 146 games played this season. Brett Wisely will get a start at the hot corner and bat ninth in the series opener.

  • Angels' Charles Leblanc: Clubs second homer

Leblanc went 1-for-3 with a solo home run, a walk and two runs scored in Monday's 8-4 loss to the White Sox.

Leblanc is batting just .200 (4-for-20) over nine major-league contests this season, though two of his hits have been homers. He's added six RBI and four runs scored. He's filling a reserve role in an injury-ravaged Angels infield, so his playing time is unlikely to rise much.

  • Lenyn Sosa 2B | TOR

White Sox's Lenyn Sosa: Lifts solo shot

Sosa went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in Monday's 8-4 win over the Angels.

Sosa has been excellent in September, going 18-for-46 (.391) over 12 contests. His homer Monday was his first long ball since July 4, giving him five on the year as he continues to struggle to find power. The infielder has added 26 RBI, 20 runs scored, three stolen bases and a .242/.269/.325 slash line over 329 plate appearances.

  • Miguel Vargas 2B | CHW

White Sox's Miguel Vargas: Still has chances for playing time

The White Sox intend to prioritize playing time for Vargas and Bryan Ramos down the stretch of the regular season, despite the return of Yoan Moncada (adductor) from the 60-day injured list, Kyle Glaser of MLB.com reports.

While Ramos appears to have the upper hand for chances at the hot corner, skipper Grady Sizemore stated in Monday's pregame press conference that he has no set plan to introduce Moncada back into the starting nine, and he'll continue to give both Vargas and Ramos plenty of playing time during the last few weeks of the season. Vargas will likely see opportunities to play at various positions around the diamond over the next 11 games as the club sets its sights on next year.

  • Bryan Ramos 3B | BAL

White Sox's Bryan Ramos: Should continue to see at-bats

Ramos is expected to see regular playing time even after the return of Yoan Moncada (adductor) from the 60-day injured list, Kyle Glaser of MLB.com reports.

Manager Grady Sizemore stated in Monday's pregame press conference that he doesn't have an immediate plan to slot Moncada back into the starting lineup upon his return, and the club would actually like to see what Ramos and Miguel Vargas can do over the last few weeks of the regular season. Ramos is 5-for-21 with two homers, three RBI and four runs scored in seven games since being promoted Sept. 4, and he figures to see consistent playing time at the hot corner or in the DH slot over the remaining 11 games of the 2024 campaign.

  • Isaac Paredes 3B | HOU

Cubs' Isaac Paredes: Tallies three more hits Monday

Paredes went 3-for-4 with two RBI in Monday's 9-2 win over the Athletics.

For the second time in his last four games, Paredes recorded three hits. The infielder is batting a robust .483 over his last eight contests, and it looks like he's settling in with the Cubs after struggling initially following the trade that brought him to Chicago in July. Paredes has become a key cog in his new team's offensive attack lately.

  • Jace Jung 2B | DET

Tigers' Jace Jung: Absent from Monday's lineup

Jung is not in the starting lineup for Monday's game against the Royals.

Jung will be out of the starting lineup for the third time in four games, and Zach McKinstry will get the start at third base Monday. Jung has gone 5-for-23 with a .640 OPS since the beginning of September.
