Bregman is out of the lineup Wednesday against the Athletics, Jake Kaplan of the Houston Chronicle reports.

With a .303/.410/.515 line over the Astros' past nine games, Bregman seems to be heating up after a sluggish start to the season, but he'll get a breather Wednesday. Marwin Gonzalez slots in at third base, batting seventh in the order.

Plouffe is out of the lineup Wednesday against the Pirates, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

With no DH spot available for the series in Pittsburgh, Plouffe will sit for the second game in a row. It still looks as though Plouffe will be in line for at least semi-regular at-bats during weeks the Rays play exclusively in American League parks, but he'll need to produce a little better before becoming a viable mixed-league commodity. Over 215 plate appearances with the Athletics and Rays this season, Plouffe is slashing a career-worst .219/.284/.372.

Reynolds was called up Wednesday prior to New York's game against the Marlins, Mike Puma of the New York Post reports.

Reynolds has been up and down a few times already this season, with the most recent transaction coming a week ago when the 26-year-old was optioned back to Triple-A Las Vegas. During his five-game stint with Las Vegas this past week, Reynolds went 7-for-20 with three home runs and five RBI from the plate. The infielder will supply more depth for the Mets, with Robert Gsellman hitting the disabled list due to a left hamstring strain.

LeMahieu (groin) is out of the lineup for Wednesday's series finale against the Giants, The Denver Post's Patrick Saunders reports.

With the Rockies getting a scheduled day off Thursday, the team will give LeMahieu an extra day of rest following his exit during Tuesday's contest with a right groin cramp. In his place, Pat Valaika will man second base and bat sixth in the order. According to Patrick Saunders of The Denver Post, LeMahieu said his groin felt better Wednesday, with Bud Black chiming in that he doesn't think a trip to the DL will be necessary for the second baseman. With that in mind, LeMahieu may have a good chance at returning during the Rockies' series this weekend in Arizona.

Chapman (knee) will be back on the field Friday for a full array of baseball activities, Jane Lee of MLB.com reports.

Chapman was released from the hospital this past Sunday after receiving a four-day regimen of antibiotic treatment for a left knee infection. The latest development is certainly a positive one, but there is still a possibility that the rookie will need a short minor-league rehab stint before being activated from the disabled list.

Segura went 1-for-3 with a two-run home run and a walk in Tuesday's loss to the Phillies.

The home run was Segura's first since May 18, and just his fourth extra-base hit since that date (19 games). Segura, who is 7-for-13 on stolen-base attempts this season, has not attempted a steal since returning from an ankle injury last week.

Valencia (wrist) went 2-for-4 with a double and a single in Tuesday's loss to the Phillies.

Valencia missed a couple of games over the weekend with a sore wrist, but he was back in action for Tuesday's series opener against the Phillies following Monday's scheduled day off. The 32-year-old now has nine hits over his last three starts, and is batting .325 (27-for-83) with a .937 OPS in 23 games this month.

LeMahieu exited Tuesday's game against the Giants early with a right groin cramp.

LeMahieu was 0-for-2 at the plate before having to be removed from the game with the cramp. The Rockies have an off-day Thursday, and the team is hopeful that its second baseman can take a few days off and not require a trip to the disabled list. He's day-to-day for now.

Devers is nursing a sore left knee and is expected to sit out a couple games this week at Double-A Portland, Kevin Thomas of The Portland Press Herald reports.

The injury doesn't sound like a major concern for Devers, but it should just about extinguish any hope that the Red Sox's top prospect might join the big club before the All-Star break. The big club has received little production from its third basemen this season, but with longtime MLB veteran Jhonny Peralta waiting in the wings at Triple-A Pawtucket and another well-regarded corner-infield prospect now on hand at Portland in Michael Chavis, Devers might not be first in line for a promotion if the Red Sox want to try one of their minor-league options at the hot corner.

Candelario was recalled from Triple-A Iowa on Monday. He is starting at third base and batting sixth against the Nationals.

With Addison Russell dealing with a shoulder injury, Candelario was added to the Cubs' roster ahead of Monday's series opener with the Nationals to offer some extra infield depth. The 23-year-old was slashing .274/.366/.520 with Iowa before being promoted to the big leagues. He could head back to Iowa once Russell is healthy enough to return.
