Robinson is out of the lineup Sunday against the Red Sox.

Robinson will take a seat for the third time in the four-game series with the Red Sox bringing another lefty to the hill in Chris Sale. With Robinson on the bench, platoon mate Renato Nunez will pick up another start at third base.

Candelario, who is out of the lineup Sunday against the Royals, is nursing a jammed left thumb, Jason Beck of MLB.com reports.

It had been assumed that Candelario was on the bench Sunday as part of a routine maintenance day, but an injury is instead at the root of the third baseman's absence. The thumb injury is believed to be minor, so Candelario could still be available Sunday in a pinch-hitting role. His next opportunity to rejoin the lineup will come in Monday's series opener against the Rangers.

Candelario is out of the lineup Sunday against the Royals.

Candelario will head to the bench for just the second time this season in what looks to be a planned off day for the third baseman. In Candelario's stead, utility man Niko Goodrum will slot in at the hot corner and bat sixth in Sunday's lineup.

Asuaje started at second base and went 1-for-4 with an RBI in a win over the Dodgers on Saturday.

Asuaje has been atrocious at the plate this season (.196/.268.294) despite winning the Padres' starting second base job this spring. Manager Andy Green had seen enough, moving the 26-year-old to the bench and sliding Jose Pirela over to the keystone this past week. Saturday's start was to give Manuel Margot a day off, so expect Asuaje to resume his bench role going forward.

Longoria is out of the lineup Sunday against the Braves, Amy Gutierrez of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.

Longoria will snap a streak of seven consecutive starts, over which he's started to turn things around at the plate. He's 9-for-32 over that stretch, collecting two home runs and nine RBI. Longoria will look to pick up where he left off Monday in Philadelphia, but in the meantime, Pablo Sandoval will man the hot corner.

LeMahieu (hamstring) is unlikely to return from the disabled list when first eligible Tuesday, Patrick Saunders of The Denver Post reports.

Manager Bud Black says that LeMahieu will only need "a couple of more days," so it's likely that he could return later in the week. The second baseman was hitting .290/.367/.505 with five homers and three steals in 27 games before going down with a sore hamstring.

Robinson is not in the lineup for Saturday's game against the Red Sox.

Robinson went 0-for-3 with two strikeouts in Friday's loss to Boston and now has a horrid 50.6 percent strikeout rate on the season. The 26-year-old has multiple strikeouts in each of his last six starts and is slashing just .175/.258/.238 in 80 at-bats this year.

The White Sox placed Moncada (hamstring) on the 10-day disabled list Saturday.

Moncada exited Friday's game against the Twins with left hamstring tightness that initially cropped up Wednesday. The 22-year-old indicated a few days of rest would be beneficial, and it's not overly surprising to see the White Sox exercise some caution. Jose Rondon was recalled from Triple-A Charlotte for added infield depth, with Leury Garcia and Yolmer Sanchez also options to fill in at second base.

Duffy went 3-for-4 with a double and a run in a win over the Blue Jays on Friday.

Duffy continues to produce from the top half of the order, as he's now 10-for-28 with two doubles and a run over his last six games. The hot-hitting third baseman has a trio of multi-hit games during that stretch, and his early production hints at a potential bounce-back season after injuries wiped out all of 2017.

Rendon (toe) was activated from the 10-day disabled list and will play third base and bat second against Philadelphia on Saturday.

Rendon played in two minor-league rehab contests over the past couple days for High-A Potomac and appears to be at 100 percent after going down with a toe injury April 13. Though Rendon will immediately step back into his role as the everyday third baseman, expect him to receive a few days off over the next week or so as manager Davey Martinez attempts to keep him fresh in the midst of the team's nine-day stretch without a scheduled off day. In a corresponding move, Adrian Sanchez was optioned to Triple-A Syracuse.
