Nationals' Anthony Rendon: Dealing with stinger, could play Tuesday

Rendon (neck) only has a stinger and may be able to play Tuesday, Mark Zuckerman of MASN reports.

Rendon was forced to leave Monday's game with a neck injury, and there were concerns that it was serious. Fortunately, it's just a pinched nerve, and the Nationals are hopeful that he'll be able to get the kinks out by Tuesday; even if that's not the case, Rendon's stay on the bench shouldn't be a long one.

Nationals' Anthony Rendon: Removed with apparent neck injury

Rendon was removed for a pinch hitter Monday after suffering an apparent neck injury diving in the field, Dan Kolko of MASN reports.

Stephen Drew took Rendon's place in the lineup. The severity of the injury was unclear, so we will have to consider him day-to-day until the Nationals' doctors are able to get a look at him.

  • Nolan Arenado 3B | ARI

Rockies' Nolan Arenado: Mashes walk-off homer Sunday

Arenado hit a three-run walk-off home run to beat the Giants on Sunday, part of a 4-for-5 game with four RBI.

Arenado completed a cycle with the home run as he continues to be red-hot in June. In 17 games this month, Arenado now has 14 extra-base hits and a ridiculous 21 RBI. His batting line is now up to .299/.352/.573, and his performance combined with the Rockies' blistering start have him squarely in the early-season conversation for National League MVP.

  • Anthony Rendon 3B | LAA

Nationals' Anthony Rendon: Drives in three Friday

Rendon went 2-for-4 with a bases-loaded walk and a two-run home run in Friday's 7-2 win over the Mets.

After going 2-for-18 over his previous six games, Rendon has now produced back-to-back two-hit nights to push his OPS back up to .905. The 27-year-old remains on pace for a career year, and with 43 RBI through 62 games he's on course to break the 100-RBI mark for the first time.

  • Matt Reynolds 3B | CIN

Mets' Matt Reynolds: Recalled from Triple-A

Reynolds was recalled from Triple-A Las Vegas on Friday.

The Mets placed both Matt Harvey and Juan Lagares on the DL on Friday, freeing up a pair of spots on the 25-man roster. Those will be filled by Reynolds and Brandon Nimmo, who will also come up from Las Vegas. Reynolds struggled with the Mets earlier this season, going just 4-for-22 at the plate with one home run and one RBI.

  • DJ LeMahieu 2B | NYY

Rockies' DJ LeMahieu: Goes 4-for-5 against Giants

LeMahieu went 4-for-5 with two RBI and three runs during Thursday's win over San Francisco.

The second baseman is beginning to heat up with an .805 OPS, 12 RBI and nine runs through his past 12 games. It's especially encouraging because nine of the 12 contests were on the road, and Thursday's game was the first of seven straight at Coors Field for the Rockies. LeMahieu remains a solid option at the keystone going forward.

  • Nolan Arenado 3B | ARI

Rockies' Nolan Arenado: Smacks three doubles

Arenado went 3-for-5 with three doubles, four RBI and two runs during Thursday's win over San Francisco.

Arenado hit all three doubles deep, so it was a bit unlucky that he didn't leave the yard with at least one of them. Still, he's now up to a .333/.371/.596 slash line in June with two homers, seven doubles, 16 RBI and nine runs through 14 games.

  • Anthony Rendon 3B | LAA

Nationals' Anthony Rendon: Out of Wednesday's lineup

Rendon is out of Wednesday's lineup against the Braves, Mark Zuckerman of MASNsports.com reports.

This will be his third game off in the last 12 contests, as the Nationals appear to be looking to keep Rendon fresh and healthy. He is also hitting just .172 over that stretch, so it's not like he is making a case to be treated like an iron man. Stephen Drew will start at the hot corner and hit sixth.

  • Nolan Arenado 3B | ARI

Rockies' Nolan Arenado: Swipes bag in 3-for-5 showing

Arenado went 3-for-5 with a stolen base during Monday's loss to Pittsburgh.

The stolen base was a welcomed bonus for fantasy owners and just the second of the season for the third baseman. Arenado sports a .292/.351/.557 slash line with 14 home runs, 46 RBI and 43 runs for the campaign, and he appears to be heating up with a 1.045 OPS in June.

  • Nolan Arenado 3B | ARI

Rockies' Nolan Arenado: Rejoins lineup Monday

Arenado will start at third base and bat third Monday against the Pirates.

Arenado received just his second day off of the season Sunday against the Cubs, which allowed Pat Valaika to pick up a rare start at the hot corner. Since his absence from the lineup was strictly for rest, Arenado should be expected to play in all seven of the Rockies' games this week. The 26-year-old is batting .333/.386/.641 with 12 RBI and seven runs through the Rockies' first 10 contests of June.
