Arenado went 1-for-3 with a walk and a two-run home run in Tuesday's 3-2 loss to the Royals.

His sixth-inning shot off Danny Duffy not only gave the Rockies their only runs on the night, it ended a no-hit bid by the lefty. With 28 homers on the year, Arenado will need a big finish to 2017 to record his third straight 40-HR campaign, but his 107 RBI and .963 OPS put him on pace for career highs in both categories.

Suarez went 3-for-5 with a pair of homers, five RBI and three runs against the Cubs on Tuesday.

He's now up to 23 long balls, snapping a tie with last season's previous personal best of 21. Suarez has also hit safely in 12 of the last 13 games (and drew three walks in the other one), a stretch in which he's hit .405/.559/.857 on the strength of five homers and 14 bases on balls. The 26-year-old is truly coming into his own at the plate, with his much-improved on-base ability a major part of the equation.

Kieboom (hamstring) is back in action for Low-A Hagerstown.

He is hitting .309/.386/.551 with seven home runs and two steals in 136 at-bats in the South Atlantic League this year. Eric Longenhagen of FanGraphs said he had a scouting source compare Kieboom to Troy Tulowitzki. Look for the offseason hype to build steadily with the young shortstop, despite the fact that the hamstring injury limited him to less than 50 games against full-season pitching.

Asuaje is out of Sunday's lineup against the Nationals.

He is hitting .254 with one home run over his last 63 at-bats. When Asuaje is not hitting for a high average, it is awfully difficult for him to be a positive fantasy contributor. Yangervis Solarte will start at second base and hit cleanup.

Arenado is in the starting lineup Friday after leaving Thursday's game with a hand injury.

Arenado's X-rays came back negative Thursday night after he was forced to exit the contest in the seventh inning following a sharply hit grounder that got a piece of his glove hand. The third baseman was held out of Monday's game due to an injury on the same hand -- stemming from a hit by pitch against the Marlins on Sunday -- but he appears to be healthy enough to give it a go during a series with major implications for Colorado.

McMahon was optioned to Triple-A Albuquerque on Friday.

McMahon made a pair of starts and logged a couple appearances off the bench during his week-long stint with the big club, going 2-for-9 with a double, two walks and a strikeout. He figures to be back no later than Sept. 1, but an increase in playing time upon his return is not a given even with his .354/.401/.587 line at the upper levels of the minors this year. This move leaves Alexi Amarista and Pat Valaika as the Rockies' backup infielders.

X-rays on Arenado's hand came back negative Thursday, Nick Groke of The Denver Post reports.

This comes as a major sigh of relief as Arenado left Thursday's game with recurring soreness in the same hand that caused him to miss time earlier in the week. Fortunately, Arenado appears to have dodged any major damage to his hand Thursday, but this is still somewhat concerning for his owners. It's unclear at this point whether manager Bud Black will give Arenado the night off Friday to allow the hand to get back to full health, but Ryan McMahon could be a potential fill-in at the hot corner if that turns out to be the case.

Arenado was prematurely lifted from Thursday's game against the Braves with an apparent hand injury, Daniel Kramer of MLB.com reports.

Arenado exited in the seventh inning after taking a hard chopper off his glove hand, the same hand that he bruised after being hit by a pitch Sunday against the Marlins. The severity of the injury isn't clear at this point, but more should be known following the conclusion of Thursday's contest. Ryan McMahon slid over to cover the hot corner after he exited, while Mark Reynolds subbed in to man first base.

Reynolds was recalled from Triple-A Las Vegas and is starting at third base for Thursday's game against the Yankees, James Wagner of The New York Times reports.

Reynolds was summoned back to the big club to take the place of Jose Reyes, who was sent to the DL with a left oblique strain, and the team will waste no time inserting him into the starting lineup. The 26-year-old saw just 49 at-bats during his earlier stints with the Mets this season -- producing a .204/.264/.306 slash line with one homer -- but he should be in line for more consistent opportunities this time around with Reyes and Wilmer Flores (ribs) both dealing with injuries.

Hayes, 20, is hitting .272/.349/.357 with two home runs, 36 RBI and 26 steals through 95 games for High-A Bradenton.

Hayes has shown stellar plate discipline along with the ability to steal bases, though his lack of power is concerning. The Pirates are still hoping that the 6-foot-1, 210-pound Hayes has that power stroke coming, though next season at Double-A will be the real test as to his future trajectory.
