The Giants placed Chapman on the 10-day injured list Friday, retroactive to Wednesday, with right hand inflammation, Justice delos Santos of The San Jose Mercury News reports.

Chapman's hand prevented him from playing in Wednesday's game against the Padres, and after further evaluation, the Giants determined the 32-year-old will need to remain out until at least next weekend. Casey Schmitt will likely shift to the hot corner while Chapman is sidelined, creating an opening for Christian Koss to take over as San Francisco's second baseman.

The Dodgers placed Muncy on the 10-day injured list Friday with a right oblique strain, Sonja Chen of MLB.com reports.

Manager Dave Roberts said Muncy's injury will force him to miss more than the 10-day minimum, though the team still expects him to return before the end of the regular season. Alex Freeland will presumably move to third base until Muncy returns, opening second base for Miguel Rojas, and the Dodgers claimed Buddy Kennedy off waivers from Toronto on Friday to replenish their bench depth.

Muncy (side) is not in the Dodgers' starting lineup against the Padres on Friday, Jeff Sanders of The San Diego Union-Tribune reports.

Muncy is dealing with right side soreness, which caused him to be scratched from Wednesday's lineup against the Angels. He'll be out of the lineup for a second consecutive game while Alex Freeland starts at third base and bats eighth.

House is out of the lineup for Friday's game against the Phillies.

House will yield to the red-hot Paul DeJong at third base for the third time in five games. House has been struggling at the plate recently, notching five hits and a 37.5 percent K rate in his last 30 at-bats.

Baty is out of the lineup for Friday's game against the Mariners.

Baty will get a breather after making four consecutive starts, three at third base and one at second. Ronny Mauricio will bat ninth and handle the hot corner instead. Baty has a .712 OPS in 310 plate appearances this season.

DeJong went 1-for-3 with a solo home run and an additional run scored during Thursday's 3-2 win over the Phillies.

DeJong's power surge persisted Thursday, lifting his fourth home run of the last eight games. The veteran infielder had just one homer in 95 plate appearances before the streak. DeJong's long ball also extended his hit streak to five games, a stretch in which he's gone 9-for-21 (.429) with seven RBI and five runs scored.

Brujan will start in right field and bat seventh in Thursday's contest versus the Mets.

A recent waiver claim, Brujan might have passed Eli White in the pecking order in right field, as he's now started three of the last five games overall and three of the last four against right-handed pitching. However, it could be a moot point, as Ronald Acuna (calf) is due back any day now from the injured list. Brujan is 1-for-4 with a 1:4 K:BB in his first two games with Atlanta.

Karros went 2-for-3 a double, a walk and three runs scored Wednesday against the Cardinals.

Karros made his sixth straight start since being called up Friday and has at least one hit in five of those contests, including two multi-hit performances. He contributed to two key rallies for Rockies on Wednesday, doubling to lead off the seventh inning and walking to lead off the final frame while coming around to score on both occasions. Karros doesn't have one standout tool, but he should be a source of decent counting stats and batting average.

Pauley went 4-for-4 with a solo home run, a walk and an additional run scored in Wednesday's 13-4 win over the Guardians.

Pauley reached base in all five plate appearances, highlighted by a 403-foot homer in the sixth inning. The 24-year-old has been productive in August, going 8-for-24 with three homers and a stolen base. For the year, he's slashing .239/.318/.388 with four long balls, 11 RBI, 15 runs scored and two steals across 152 plate appearances. He should continue to see regular at-bats while Connor Norby (wrist) remains sidelined.
