Cubs' Matt Duffy: Placed on injured list
Duffy was placed on the 10-day injured list Tuesday with a lower-back strain, Maddie Lee of NBC Sports Chicago reports.

Brian Anderson RF | ATL
Marlins' Brian Anderson: Awaiting MRI results
Anderson underwent an MRI on his sore left shoulder Tuesday, the results of which have yet to be released, Craig Mish of SportsGrid.com reports.
Anderson left Monday's game against the Phillies with the injury. It comes at a bad time for the third baseman, as he was finally starting to heat up at the plate, posting a 1.006 OPS over his last 11 games after struggling to a .556 OPS over his first 24. Once the results of the tests are made public, it should become clear whether he'll need a stint on the injured list.

J.D. Davis 1B | LAA
Mets' J.D. Davis: Targeting return next week
Davis (finger/neck) could return to the lineup next week, Laura Albanese of Newsday reports.
On the injured list with a sprained finger, Davis' rehab stint at Triple-A Syracuse was paused over the weekend while he dealt with a stiff neck. Manager Luis Rojas indicated that the team wants to see him to play a full nine innings in a few straight games before being activated, which would make early next week the most likely timeline for his return to the Mets' depleted lineup.

Phillies' Jean Segura: Swipes second bag

Anderson was removed from Monday's game against the Phillies due to left shoulder soreness, Jordan McPherson of the Miami Herald reports.
The initial prognosis appears promising for the third baseman, but he's likely headed for further evaluation to determine his status moving forward. Jon Berti and Jose Devers could time at the hot corner if Anderson is forced to miss extended time.

Manny Machado 3B | SD
Padres' Manny Machado: Remains sidelined
Machado (shoulder) will sit for the fourth straight game Monday against Milwaukee, Jeff Sanders of The San Diego Union-Tribune reports.
A tight shoulder has kept Machado sidelined since Wednesday. He went hitless in five of his last eight games, a slump which could potentially have been injury-related. Ha-Seong Kim remains the third baseman in his absence.

Jace Peterson SS | ARI
Brewers' Jace Peterson: Designated for assignment
Peterson (thumb) was reinstated from the 10-day injured list and designated for assignment Monday.
Peterson spent just over a month on the 10-day injured list with a left thumb injury and had been on a rehab assignment with Triple-A Nashville recently. While the 31-year-old is now healthy, he'll be cast off the 40-man roster as part of a shuffle after Keston Hiura was recalled in a corresponding move.

Ke'Bryan Hayes 3B | CIN
Pirates' Ke'Bryan Hayes: Working way back
The Pirates are expected to work through a spring-training like progression with Hayes (wrist) as he targets an early-June return date, 93.7 The Fan Pittsburgh reports.
The third baseman doubled and homered in his second rehab game for Triple-A Indianapolis on Sunday. "I think about it like an early spring-training schedule," general manager Ben Cherington said Sunday afternoon. "Typically a position player will start with four or five innings, maybe a couple at-bats and then build up over a number of days with some off-days built in. That'll be the same with Ke'Bryan. He's now into his game progression." Hayes is eligible to come off the 60-day injured list on June 3.
