Cardinals' Nolan Arenado: On base thrice in loss
Arenado went 1-for-2 with a double and two walks in a loss to the Rockies on Saturday.
The slugger continues to get on base at a torrid pace, as he now owns a .395 OBP across his last nine games. Arenado has a solid-but-unspectacular .267 average during that stretch, but he's also drawn seven walks in addition to lacing eight hits, six (four doubles, two home runs) of which have gone for extra bases.

Padres' Manny Machado: Cracks 19th homer
Machado went 1-for-4 with a home run and two RBI on Saturday against the Phillies.
Machado belted his 19th homer in the first inning to stake the Padres to a 2-0 lead against Philadelphia starter Zach Eflin. Machado's bat had gone cold over the previous week, and his round tripper Saturday was his first extra-base knock in his last eight games. He's slashing .259/.335/.457 in 319 plate appearances on the season, a big drop across the board compared to the .304/.370/.580 line he put up during the shortened 2020 campaign.

Giants' Evan Longoria: Could return shortly after break
Longoria (shoulder) could return from the injured list around the third week of July, Kerry Crowley of The San Jose Mercury News reports.
Longoria has been participating in baseball activities for just over a week, and he could return the Giants shortly after the All-Star break. The third baseman has been on the injured list since June 6, so he could require a rehab assignment before he's cleared to return.

Eduardo Escobar 3B | TOR
Diamondbacks' Eduardo Escobar: Takes seat Saturday
Escobar isn't starting Saturday's game against the Giants.
Escobar suffered a right quadriceps strain nearly two weeks ago, and he's been seen hobbling around the bases recently, Nick Piecoro of the Arizona Republic reports. It's not clear whether Saturday's exclusion from the lineup is due to the quad issue or whether he could be available off the bench. Asdrubal Cabrera will take over at the hot corner and bat third.

Muncy has collected exactly one hit in each of his past six games, with four of those knocks leaving the park.
