Jean Segura 3B | CLE
Phillies' Jean Segura: Not in Friday's lineup
Segura isn't starting Friday against the Pirates.
Segura will get a rare day off after he went 1-for-7 with two runs and a walk across the last two games. Ronald Torreyes will start at the keystone and bat seventh.

Nick Madrigal 2B | LAA
Cubs' Nick Madrigal: Moving to Cubs for Kimbrel
Madrigal (hamstring) and Codi Heuer were acquired by the Cubs from the White Sox on Friday in exchange for right-hander Craig Kimbrel, Bob Nightengale of USA Today reports.
The 24-year-old underwent season-ending surgery to repair the proximal tendon tears in his right hamstring back in June, but he still brings a ton of value for the Cubs even if it won't come in 2021. Madrigal lost his prospect status this year prior to the injury, and he hit .305/.349/.425 with two homers, 10 doubles, four triples, 21 RBI and 30 runs in 54 games before landing on the injured list. The status of Madrigal's recovery remains unclear, though he was expected to be ready for 2022 spring training based on the initial rehab timeline. He should slot in as the starter at second base for his new team once healthy, likely hitting near the top of the order.

Mike Moustakas 3B | CHW
Reds' Mike Moustakas: Begins rehab assignment
Moustakas (heel) will begin a rehab assignment with Triple-A Louisville on Friday.
A bruised right heel has kept Moustakas on the shelf since mid-May. The length of his absence means he'll likely need more than a few games of minor-league action before he returns to the active roster. The Reds are clearly happy with his recent progress, however, as reports from as recently as Thursday indicated that he wouldn't begin a rehab assignment until next week.

Austin Riley 3B | ATL
Braves' Austin Riley: Keeps delivering
Riley went 2-for-4 with a home run and three RBI on Thursday against the Mets.
Riley took Taijuan Walker yard in the fourth inning to record his 21st home run of the season. He has now homered in three consecutive games and has tallied six long balls in his past seven starts. In that same seven-game span, he's delivered seven runs scored and 13 RBI. For the season, Riley has a .289/.370/.519 line with 60 RBI and 52 runs scored across 416 plate appearances.

Patrick Wisdom 3B | SEA
Cubs' Patrick Wisdom: Hits 16th home run
Wisdom went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Thursday's loss to the Reds.
Wisdom keeps building on his breakout campaign, as he's now up to 16 home runs, 27 RBI and 30 runs scored through 56 games, to go along with a strong .940 OPS. With the Cubs trading Anthony Rizzo Thursday and potentially making a few more moves before Friday's deadline, Wisdom should see all the playing time he can handle the rest of the way.

Eduardo Escobar 3B | TOR
Brewers' Eduardo Escobar: Not starting Thursday
Escobar isn't starting Thursday's game against the Pirates.
Escobar was traded from the Diamondbacks to the Brewers on Wednesday, but he won't be in the lineup for his first game with his new club. Whether he's available off the bench remains to be seen, but Luis Urias will start at the hot corner and bat seventh.

Kevin Newman 3B | LAA
Pirates' Kevin Newman: Idle Thursday
Newman is out of the lineup for Thursday's game against the Brewers.
Wilfer Difo will step in at shortstop for Newman, who had started each of the last six games while going 6-for-23 at the dish. Following the Pirates' trade earlier this week that sent All-Star Adam Frazier to the Padres, Newman could take over as Pittsburgh's primary leadoff man versus left-handed pitching.

Mike Moustakas 3B | CHW
Reds' Mike Moustakas: Trending toward rehab assignment
Moustakas (heel) could begin a rehab assignment at Triple-A Louisville early next week, Bobby Nightengale of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.
Moustakas has been on the injured list for over two months due to a right heel contusion. The 32-year-old began a rehab assignment in mid-June, but he was shut down after he experienced some soreness during a game. He's been able to take grounders recently, and he should return to game action in the coming days. While manager David Bell didn't reveal what day Moustakas' rehab assignment would begin, he could rejoin the Reds at some point late next week or next weekend.

Nick Senzel 3B | LAD
Reds' Nick Senzel: Rehab starting Friday
Senzel (knee) will begin a rehab assignment with Triple-A Louisville on Friday, C. Trent Rosecrans of The Athletic reports.
Senzel has been out since mid-May due to a knee issue which eventually required a clean-up procedure. The Reds have been targeting a return in early August, which still appears possible even though he'll likely need more than just a game or two in the minors before he's considered ready to go.

Max Muncy 3B | LAD
Dodgers' Max Muncy: Tallies three hits in win
Muncy went 3-for-6 with a double, two RBI and a run scored in Wednesday's 8-0 win over the Giants.
Muncy had his fifth multi-hit game of the month and his first since July 17. He singled his first two times up and scored in the third, and he later drive in a run with a double in the seventh. The 30-year-old had been quiet over the last week, going 4-for-21 with just one extra-base hit, but he's been strong overall, slashing .276/.413/.563 with 22 homers, 61 RBI, 59 runs scored and 62:61 BB:K over 361 plate appearances.
