Manny Machado 3B | SD
Padres' Manny Machado: Slugs massive long ball
Machado went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run and a double Saturday in a 10-2 victory versus Houston.
The third baseman's 453-foot moonshot in the seventh inning was his longest of the campaign and his second-longest as a Padre, per Bernie Wilson of the Associated Press. Machado has collected four multi-hit efforts during his current eight-game hitting streak, during which he is slashing .353/.405/.647 with two homers, four doubles and five RBI.

Kevin Newman 3B | LAA
Pirates' Kevin Newman: Out of Sunday's lineup
Newman is not in the lineup Sunday against the Cubs, Mike Persak of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.
Newman is 4-for-34 across his past nine games and will head to the bench Sunday. Cole Tucker will start at shortstop and bat seventh in his place for the series finale at Chicago.

Ke'Bryan Hayes 3B | CIN
Pirates' Ke'Bryan Hayes: Leading off in return
Hayes (hand) is starting at third base and batting leadoff Sunday against the Cubs, Mike Persak of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.
A trip to the injured list was being considered given Hayes sat out the past five games with a bruised right hand, but he'll rejoin the lineup Sunday while making the first start of his MLB career at the top of the order. The 24-year-old is hitting .223/.291/.319 in 26 games since the start of August and will attempt to get back on track following the absence.

Jean Segura 3B | CLE
Phillies' Jean Segura: Not starting Sunday
Segura is out of the lineup Sunday at Miami, Scott Lauber of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.
Segura started the past 26 games at the keystone for Philadelphia and will take a seat Sunday despite having an .886 OPS in the past nine contests. Freddy Galvis will take over at second base in the series finale versus the Marlins.

Carter Kieboom 3B | CLE
Nationals' Carter Kieboom: Productive in twin bill
Kieboom went 4-for-8 with a double, three runs scored and an RBI across both games of Saturday's doubleheader split with the Mets.
The young third baseman has caught fire over the last week, batting .348 (8-for-23) over his last six games with two homers, four RBI and six runs. The hot streak has pushed Kieboom's slash line on the year up to .248/.344/.419, and a big September would go a long way toward locking him into the starting job at the hot corner for 2022 and beyond.

Manny Machado 3B | SD
Padres' Manny Machado: Tallies 11th theft
Machado went 1-for-4 with a walk, a stolen base and an RBI in Friday's loss to Houston.
The third baseman drove in San Diego's first run on a third-inning infield single, and he was also part of a successful double steal with Adam Frazier in the seventh. Machado is in the midst of a seven-game hitting streak, slashing .333/.375/.533 with a home run, three RBI and three doubles over that span. He has racked up 23 homers and 11 steals overall this season, marking the third time in his career he has reached double digits in both categories.

Nick Senzel 3B | LAD
Reds' Nick Senzel: May be done for season
Senzel went for another opinion on his knee and manager David Bell said Saturday that it's "going to take a while" before Senzel is fully healthy, Mark Sheldon of MLB.com reports.
The Reds' skipper said he's unsure whether Senzel will return this season. Reading between the lines, it seems like a long shot, unless the Reds make a deep postseason run. Senzel underwent arthroscopic surgery on his left knee in May and was still noticeably favoring the knee when he hit following his return. Injuries have been a recurring theme for Senzel, and there didn't appear to be a spot for him anyway as he was optioned initially before that option was ultimately rescinded due to the ongoing trouble with the knee.

Mike Moustakas 3B | CHW
Reds' Mike Moustakas: Out again Saturday
Moustakas is not in the lineup for Saturday's game against the Tigers.
Matthew Boyd, Saturday's starter for Detroit, is the third straight lefty the Reds have faced, and Moustakas has been on the bench against all three. Eugenio Suarez will remain at the hot corner and in the five hole. Moustakas and Suarez appear primed to continue operating in a strict platoon.

Ke'Bryan Hayes 3B | CIN
Pirates' Ke'Bryan Hayes: Injured list decision coming soon
Hayes (hand) is expected to either hit the injured list or return to the lineup by the end of the weekend, Alex Stumpf of DKPittsburghSports.com reports.
Hayes hasn't played since Sunday while battling a bruised hand. He was able to swing, field and throw Saturday, so it seems possible that he'll be able to play soon, but the Pirates have little incentive to risk anything with the talented young third baseman given that they're nowhere near the playoff race.

Eugenio Suarez 3B | CIN
Reds' Eugenio Suarez: Slugs homer No. 25
Suarez went 1-for-2 with a walk and a solo home run in Friday's 15-5 loss to the Tigers.
He got the Reds on the board with a blast off Tyler Alexander in the second inning, but Cincinnati was already in a 2-0 hole at that point. Suarez has gone yard in back-to-back games to give him 25 homers on the year, the fourth consecutive full season in which he's reached that mark, but he continues to struggle making consistent contact. Since the beginning of August, Suarez is slashing .188/.284/.484 through 22 games.
