Madrigal (leg) isn't starting Saturday's Cactus League game against the Angels, Meghan Montemurro of the Chicago Tribune reports.

Madrigal was scratched from Friday's Cactus League matchup after he felt some tightness while warming up and running the bases. However, he feels better Saturday and plans to participate in a workout. As long as he continues to feel good, Madrigal expects to play in Sunday's spring game against Cleveland.

Hayes (ankle) will take part in live batting practice Saturday, Alex Stumpf of DKPittsburghSports.com reports.

Hayes has been dealing with an ankle issue for the last week, but he's felt better recently and said that he may have be able to play through the issue if it were the regular season. While the 25-year-old will still need to run at full speed before he's cleared for game action, he's trending in the right direction ahead of Opening Day.

Madrigal was scratched from Friday's Cactus League lineup against the Diamondbacks due to leg fatigue, Maddie Lee of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.

Madrigal was penciled in to start at shortstop and bat leadoff, but he'll instead take the day off due to the leg fatigue. His removal from the lineup was a precaution, so the 25-year-old could be back on the field within a couple days.

Segura could hit in the bottom third of the order for the Phillies this season, Todd Zolecki of MLB.com reports.

Segura hit seventh Thursday against the Yankees in a lineup that looked much like the one the Phillies could roll out on Opening Day. Segura hit first or second in 109 of his 127 starts last season, but the Phillies beefed up their lineup with the additions of Kyle Schwarber and Nick Castellanos over the offseason. Segura is a perfectly capable hitter, but his 109 wRC+ last season is below what the Phillies expect from his new teammates.

Hayes (ankle) ran at 50 percent and took grounders Thursday, Jason Mackey of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.

Hayes suffered a minor right ankle sprain in a workout last weekend but has been able to continue participating in baseball activities other than baserunning. It was encouraging to see him run in a straight line Thursday, but it's not yet clear whether he'll be forced to miss any time to begin the regular season. If the 25-year-old can run at full intensity in the coming days, it wouldn't be surprising to see him avoid a trip to the injured list.

Arenado (face) is starting Thursday's Grapefruit League game against the Marlins, Derrick Goold of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.

Arenado wasn't available Wednesday after undergoing a cosmetic procedure to remove a mole near his right eyebrow, but he'll be back in action a day later. He's gone 4-for-16 with a homer, a double, four RBI, two runs and two strikeouts across seven spring contests this year.

Rosario was optioned to Triple-A El Paso on Wednesday.

Rosario was added to the 40-man roster in November to protect him from the Rule 5 draft, and he went 4-for-18 with a run, an RBI, a stolen base and four strikeouts across nine Cactus League appearances this spring. After spending the entire 2021 campaign at Double-A San Antonio, he should progress to the Triple-A level to begin the season in 2022.

Manager Gabe Kapler said Wednesday that Longoria (finger) is expected to miss approximately six weeks, Andrew Baggarly of The Athletic reports.

Longoria underwent surgery to repair a ligament in his right index finger Tuesday, and his finger will be immobilized for at least 10 days before he resumes baseball activities. With the 36-year-old out of game action until at least mid-May, Wilmer Flores is slated to serve as the team's primary third baseman.

Arenado won't be available Wednesday for the Cardinals' Grapefruit League game against the Nationals after he had a cosmetic procedure to remove a mole near his right eyebrow, Marly Rivera of ESPN.com reports.

Arenado said the procedure was a simple process and noted that he expects to return to the lineup Thursday against the Marlins. Brendan Donovan will fill in at third base for Arenado, who has gone 4-for-16 with a home run through seven Grapefruit League games to date.

The Pirates announced Tuesday that Hayes is day-to-day after sustaining a minor right ankle sprain in a workout over the weekend, Rob Biertempfel of The Athletic reports.

According to the update provided by the team, Hayes will continue with all baseball activities except baserunning in the short term and will be withheld from game action for a "brief period." With Opening Day a week and a half away, the timing of Hayes' injury is less than ideal, but so long as he isn't shut down from activity entirely and is cleared to begin running by early next week, he should be on track to avoid a trip to the injured list. While missing considerable time due to a wrist injury in his second MLB season in 2021, Hayes finished with a .257 average to go with six home runs and nine stolen bases across 396 plate appearances.
