  • Jace Peterson SS | ARI

Brewers' Jace Peterson: Pops first homer of 2022

Peterson went 1-for-3 with a two-run home run in Friday's 11-1 rout of the Cubs.

He took Kyle Hendricks deep in the second inning, kicking off a six-homer barrage by the Brewers. The long ball was Peterson's first of the year, and while he's been seeing plenty of playing time while Luis Urias (quadriceps) has been sidelined, he hasn't done much with the opportunity, slashing .171/.277/.244 in 47 plate appearances.

  • Nolan Arenado 3B | ARI

Cardinals' Nolan Arenado: Not starting Saturday

Arenado isn't starting Saturday against the Diamondbacks.

Arenado is in the midst of a four-game hitting streak in which he's gone 7-for-13 with two doubles, three RBI, a run and three walks. He's appealing a two-game suspension for his role in a brawl Wednesday against the Mets, but Saturday's absence from the lineup appears to be a routine day off. Brendan Donovan will start at the hot corner and bat eighth.

  • Austin Riley 3B | ATL

Braves' Austin Riley: Mashes sixth homer

Riley went 2-for-5 with a double and a two-run home run in Friday's 6-3 win over the Rangers.

The third baseman took Garrett Richards deep in the first inning, giving Atlanta a lead it would never relinquish. Riley is having one of his patented hot streaks, slugging four of his six homers on the season over the last six games to push his slash line up to .282/.371/.603.

  • Padres' Manny Machado: Swipes bag in win

Machado went 1-for-4 with an RBI and a stolen base in Friday's 7-3 win against the Pirates.

Machado made fantasy managers who roster him happy with a single and a stolen base in the fourth inning, and he knocked in a run with a sacrifice fly in the fifth. The theft was the veteran third baseman's fourth of the campaign, though it was his first since April 14. Machado has reached base safely in 10 straight games and is slashing .472/.535/.722 with two homers, seven RBI and 10 runs over that stretch.

  • Ryan McMahon 3B | NYY

Rockies' Ryan McMahon: Slugs three-run homer

McMahon went 1-for-4 with a three-run home run and a walk Friday against the Reds.

McMahon managed only one hit, but he made it by count by taking Hunter Greene yard in the fifth frame to record his second home run of the season. It was his first long ball since April 17, though he did have three doubles in 10 starts in that span. McMahon has also found other ways to contribute, as he has at least one hit in seven of his last nine games, and he's also collected seven RBI and three runs scored in that span. Overall, McMahon is hitting .242/.359/.424 across 78 plate appearances on the campaign.

  • J.D. Davis 1B | LAA

Mets' J.D. Davis: May be available Friday

Manager Buck Showalter said Davis (foot) is feeling much better and could be available off the bench Friday against the Phillies, Deesha Thosar of the New York Daily News reports.

The 29-year-old had X-rays on his left foot come back negative after being hit by a pitch Wednesday, and the injury may not end up resulting in much of an absence. Davis remains out of the lineup Friday, though he'd likely be sitting regardless of the injury since righty Aaron Nola is pitching for Philadelphia.

  • Nick Madrigal 3B | LAA

Cubs' Nick Madrigal: Not starting Friday

Madrigal isn't starting Friday against Milwaukee.

Madrigal has hit just .130 with a double, two RBI, two walks and three strikeouts over his last seven appearances, and he'll be out of the lineup for a second straight game. Jonathan Villar will start at the keystone and bat second.

  • Austin Riley 3B | ATL

Braves' Austin Riley: Slugs fifth long ball

Riley went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in a 5-1 win over the Cubs on Thursday.

Riley gave the Braves an early lead with a 429-foot solo shot to left field in the first inning. The blast was his fifth of the campaign, tied for seventh-most in the league. Three of Riley's long balls have come in his past five games.

  • Nolan Arenado 3B | ARI

    Cardinals' Nolan Arenado: Appealing ban

Arenado remains in the lineup Thursday against the Diamondbacks and is appealing his suspension, Jeff Jones of the Belleville News-Democrat reports.

Arenado was suspended two games for his role in a brawl Wednesday against the Mets. However, he'll be eligible to remain in the lineup while the appeals process plays out. Arenado is set to start at third base and hit cleanup Thursday against the Diamondbacks.

  • Mike Moustakas 3B | CHW

Reds' Mike Moustakas: Two hits in first game back

Moustakas went 2-for-3 with a walk, two runs scored and an RBI in Thursday's loss to the Padres.

Moustakas' return comes at a good time, with the Reds about to embark on a road trip to Coors Field this weekend. The addition of the universal DH is especially helpful for him as he works his way back from his biceps injury.
